Name: Cornelius Quinn Rafferty Von Ponsonby
Career: Rogue Trader
Title: Lord High Captain
Age: 35
Appearance:

Description: Cornelius Quinn Rafferty Von Ponsonby is the scion of perhaps the oldest Rogue Trader Dynasty in existence, for the Warrant they have been issued was signed by the very ruler of humanity, The God-Emperor of Mankind and their ancestral flagship, a Conquest-Class Star Galleon named "The Golden Goose" was commissioned during the dawn of the Great Crusade. This means that they are wealthy beyond compare, having had 8,000 years to acquire whole fleets and entire Solar Systems in addition to priceless treasures and bespoke curiosities that decorate their halls. In other words, Cornelius is not only in possession of a legal document giving him unparalleled authority the envy of some High Lords, but he is also the sole owner of a sizeable and ancient interstellar Merchant Empire. There are some Scions of Rogue Trader Families who would be content to rest on their family's laurels, to run the Dynasty as a mere business endeavor, or to hand the management to a trusted hereditary servant and live their life in the lap of luxury. Cornelius is not one of those complacent fools, he is a Von Ponsonby and their wealth was not made through sound and stable investments, it was seized through daring and risky endeavors by men and women who were skilled enough, ambitious enough, and lucky enough to succeed where others failed. And so he takes command of his Dynastic Inheritance, sets a course to the unknown, brings along a trusty crew, and he SUCCEEDS.

Description and History: Sister Castitas is a woman driven by an urgent mission. It is a mission given to her by the Prioress Superior of the Hospitallers of the Immaculate Martyr who oversee the Grand Hospital of Saint Pietas on the Cardinal World Castellum Noviana and sanctified by the Cardinal of that same world. That mission is simple. Retrieve the Apocrypha of Maladicta the Heretic Seer and exterminate with extreme predjudice anyone who has come into contact with the damned script.
Born on a backwater Imperial world to parents who served as advisors to the Imperial Governor, the child who would become Castitas was wrenched from her family when Orks invaded the world and all but slew every human there. After the planet's liberation by regiments of the Astra Millitarum, Castitas was submitted to the none-to-tender mercies of the Schola Progenium and the Drill-Abbots there. As a pious girl, Castitas swore her life to the service of the God-Emperor, though it was seen her combat abilities were not sufficient to see her being transferred for Sisters of Battle or Astra Tempestum duties. A life of drudgery as an adept of the Adeptus Terra was averted when her skill with medicine and the treatment of the sick and injured became apparent. Thus she was seconded to the Orders Hospitaller and became a Sister Hospitaller of the Order of the Immaculate Martyr.

Her duties saw her moving from world to world, attending to wounded soldiers in raging battlezones or treating virulent diseases afflicting suffering civilians in towering hive cities. Her most notable deployment was to Saericum IX. The planet was a jungle Death World currently being researched by Biologis Magi of the Adeptus Mechanicus, whose regularly scheduled Astropathic communique had been over a month late. Castitas was deployed alongside the 8th Btn/62nd Catachan Rangers, a specialised pathfinder force within the already elite jungle fighting Catachan army. The exploratory base, once discovered, was found to be deserted. Creepily enough, the disappearances of the explorators appeared to have been spontaneous and sudden. Rotten food sat in mess tins and cooking pots, beds lay waiting for people to rest, mono-task servitors mutely went about their duties, but no signs of any of the Mechanicus could be found. No signs of violence could be detected, weapons and ammunition stood in great store in the base's armory, no weapons appeared to have been discharged within the vicinity of the base and not a single drop of blood could be detected.
An hour into the investigation and the commanders of the force were about to signal a sweep of the greater perimeter when the base was raked with fire from the surrounding jungle. Soldiers screamed and died as others directed suppressive volleys into the forest. The source of the attack and the likely cause of the deserted base became apparent as the wounds of the dead and wounded were inspected. Splinter shards fired from weapons in the hands of the dreaded Drukhari. Worse, the projectiles were daubed with virulent toxins that rapidly incapacitated their victims, leaving them wracked in pain and feverish. Castitas worked hard to stabilise the wounded and deliver peace to those who could not be saved and, during a daring raid on a moonless night, she fought three of the vile Xenos with a fabled Catachan blade in her hand to defend her wounded charges. In time, the Militarum were reinforced and the Drukhari raiders were successfully repelled from the planet and Castitas was awarded a rare Catachan Devil Fang-pattern sword by the regiment in honor of her valor, a truly unique event.

Her most recent deployment was to Castellum Noviana and it was here that she became inducted into a secret that threatened to undermine the precarious stability of the Imperium. Castellum Noviana was home to one of the largest hospitals and medical research facilities in the Imperium and also bore host to the Sanitarum Praecidium, the so-called Tower of Heretics. The tower was known to be the final resting place to many a heretic and iconoclast caught by the Adepta Sororitas and the Inquisition. Most often heretics were summarily executed or submitted for mind-wiping and retasking as a servitor, but some few were sent to the Sanitatium when they were either possibly redeemable or were deemed to be too important to simply kill. One such heretic was Maladicta the Heretic Seer. In life, she had been named Sister Rosalla of the Order of the Shining Pen, a Dialogus of the Sororitas. However, it was said that she suffered a seizure during a High Mass and began claiming that she had seen visions of the God-Emperor during the Great Crusade. Worryingly, she further claimed the the Master of Mankind had taken many lovers during his expansion across the galaxy and had sired a large number of sons who would one day wrest the Imperium from the hands of the High Lords. Such madness would have consigned Rosalla to the ranks of the Repentia or even into the sarcophagus of a Mortifier, but the names of some of the worlds she claimed the Emperor had visited were not on the official records of the Great Crusade. They were, however, listed in a highly secret document known as the Illuminatus Scriptory. This document was held by the Ordo Hereticus and detailed what was known about the secretive organisation known as the Illuminati, a group who held the same beliefs as Rosalla, though no link between the two could be established. The Illuminati claimed that these sons of the Immortal God-Emperor, known as The Sensei, moved through the common people of the Imperium, exalting some to become icons and heroes to one day support their push for Holy Terra and control of the entire Imperium. Rosalla was interred within the Sanitarum and her mad ravings documented in what was to become the Apocrypha of Maladicta the Heretic Seer, a name Rosalla adopted and demanded to be called. The matter might have been settled had things have been kept contained. However, a man came to Castellum Noviana claiming to be an Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus. He demanded to see Maladicta and the Apocrypha and then brought both of them onto his ship, where he claimed he would closely investigate them both. Shockingly, the ship promptly left the starport of Castellum Noviana and fled the system.
To bring such a breach of security to light would jepardise the Order and the Cardinal's own involvement into the whole affair and, thus, he authorised the deployment of as many Sororitas and Ecclesiarchy agents as he could dare to track down Maladicta, the Apocrypha and their mysterious liberator.

Castitas is one such agent. She was advised by several Missionaries that a ship and man matching the descriptions of those who spirited away the heretic had been noted heading into the Galactic Core, a region of the Imperium that had been poorly explored, even in the days of the Great Expansion. Thus it was that Castitas took ship with a Rogue Trader who was planning to be the first to explore the region and bring to light what treasures he could.

He was promoted by surviving a bloody charge, and graduated from Conscript. From there, he quickly rose in the Regiment as a well known Sergeant, and became his company's "Gunny". It was during a hive battle that his whole Regiment was slaughtered, and he was narrowly saved by a certain rogue trader, who heeded his calls for help and evacuated him.

Name: Nefecris
Career: Dimensionalist cryptek
title: Carto-Artifex
age: 66 million years give or take
appearance

description: Nefecris is without a doubt one of the oddest crewmembers a rouge trader could have, because she is one of the most mysterious xenos a necron. Still she has been a loyal member to the Von Ponsonby family finding the adventures of their short lives amusing. humans are to Nefecris a truly interesting species far more then the crude orks or pompous eldar, though they lack understanding of their inferiority. Over years she has learned that it is easier to pretend to be one of their foolish tech priests by wearing a robe than explain things realistically.

bio: Before the great sleep Nefecris was a cryptek serving a powerful phaeron. While few go against the crypteks as messing with the only ones that know how everything works is bad, Nefecris pushed her luck just a little bit to much. She had been working on a way to shift their minds into new bodies plucked from different dimensions saving the necrons from their souless fate. This line of seeking out new perfect bodies lead to some less than ideal results and an invasion from another dimesnion on the crownworld. Now the phearon ran out of patience and decided to punish Nefecris. She enjoyed creating alternate tesseract labyrinths so the phaeron trapped her in one and cut off her reanimation protocols.

Inside the Labyrinth Nefecris was subjected not to complete stasis, but a slowing down of time thanks to the pocket dimension having its time flow altered. This was originally to keep things fresh but allow time to flow and allow changes to happen. Mostly this was to allow mindshackle scarabs to do their work. Still time passed one and Nefecris was left lost in an infinate maze that constantly shifted for thousands of years for her. This translated to millions of years on the outside and ironically saved her from the fate of the rest of the dynasty. The star of the crownworld went nova as they slept and wiped the controls killing the dynasty as all members were rendered none functional and restoration was impossible. the trapped Nefecris was saved thanks to techanically being in another dimension at the time and thus not subjected to the star's fury.

Freedom would not come from Nefecris escaping the prison, but from the outside. The prison was configured like a puzzle, Nefecris can't recall why she made it such, and thus needed to be solved to open. while this might seem like good security but a box with a limited number of configurations is nothing to a necron logic system. Well as it turned out such a simple system turned out to very hard for younger races as the box was found by the first of the Von Ponsonby who never solved it. The box would be passed down through the generations, till at last 5,000 years ago it was opened. Freed from her prison Nefecris pledged herself to the family after finding out how young they tended to die. She has since served as the Carto-Artifex of his fleet. She has created hidden dimensional pathways in the ship making they always labyrinthine ship just that more confusing as entire decks can sometimes be found between regular decks only to soon vanish. When out and about she pretends to be a techpriest that is extremely augmented and those that question this to much tend to go missing.

wargear:
  • Staff of possibilities: The seemingly simple staff with ornate headpiece is one of the most esoteric of devices allowing the weirder to create micro alterations to the dimension, allowing the wielder to seemingly alter reality on a small scale. This can take the form of changing sure hits to complete misses by shifting realities around. This can also be used to attack by tapping into the energies of other dimensions or opening holes in space and time to channel energy from local stellar bodies

  • Necrodermis tail: Functioning much like a mechadentrite this tail can be used to lash out ate foes and can cut space rendering armor useless against it's blow

  • Necrodermis: The mysterious living metal of necrons this material is not only hard to damage but will actively repair itself.

  • Veil of rejuvenation: This headpiece looking almost like a crown holds 3 resurrection orbs serving both decorative and functional purpose to help the wearer recover even from fatal damage.

Name: Omega Ren

Career: Explorator Tech Priest

title: Magos

age: [REDACTED FOR THE OMNISSIAH]

appearance
F6D98A5A-7520-4251-8FC9-A603647E81AF.png

description: Omega Ren is an Explorator Tech Priest for the Adeptus Mechanicus, proficient in the maintenance of vehicles and war gear for various groups. For a while he served with the Deathwatch on one of their war ships tending to the ship functions and of course the machine spirit within. Reciting Cantacles in times of battle and spreading littanys during battle for administering repairs. Omega is very good at what he does and even (if he decides to allow it) finds enjoyment in his work.

bio: Omega Ren like any other servant of the Omnissiah was trained and given his enhancements on the red planet of Mars by the Adeptus Mechanicus. Having become a techpriest, specifically an explorator, to better serve the omnissiah and its creations and machine spirits and bring knowledge back for the servants.

Omega worked his way up to the rank of Magos over the years, gaining a small fleet and a sect of followers. For years Omega explored the void, visiting worlds for xenos relics and the like, finding, studying, even cataloguing them. While also secretly being fascinated with them. Over time the more he learned the more he wanted to know. He even went as far as to explore old necron ruins on dead worlds, carefully taking back samples to be studied, and for him to possibly integrate into his weaponry. The only thing stopping him was the lack of heretek.

But all that changed after a joint mission with a death watch kill team, a salamander watch Captain having run into Omega and his crew, the pair decided to work together to explore and search for relics. Omega of course was grateful, especially more so having to deal with whom he feels is the most gentle of the chapters, the salamanders. Less likely to cause trouble. Of course the kill team didn’t consist of only salamanders but they followed their watch captains every word. Only concern the magos had was their crimson fist lieutenant, he was aware of that chapters reputation.

The mission was going well until Omega ran into in odd xenos relic. It was floating on a platform, in his haste and curiosity to procure and study it he did recite the canticles of caution and sprung a trap as he collected the relic. Security measures being activated as bolts of green shot out across the space, one of his followers being the first casualty as they practically melted down. Soon to follow were members of the kill team, the apothecary unfortunately being the first to go down followed by other members. Omega was quick to run out with his followers, being sure to get the watch Captain to follow. Many more were injured or dying on the way out. Once they exited the watch Lieutenant was the first to berate Omega and even attempted to execute him on the spot for the death of the astartes. The level headed watch Captain of course ordered him to stand down, saying that he did not blame the magos. Only wishing that he had been more careful.

In shame Magos Omega left and returned to the red planet of Mars, where he was further shamed and stripped of his fleet. Omega though did not tell them of the relic and kept it on his person. Some were even beginning to think of branding him heretek. Though this was not to pass as Omega returned to the stars, booking passage on a rogue trader ship to continue his mission of studying more xenos tech, bringing with him what surviving and staying followers he had to add to the rogue traders crew.
