hi all! this will be a much more specific search thread than my past ones; i'm looking for a more cottagecore, ghibli-inspired rp, especially with witchy elements. i'll have more information on that below, but first here's some general info!
about me-
+ you can call me arly, or whatever else you like!
+ i'm a trans man who uses he/him pronouns
+ i'm 19 and a college student- the semester is winding down but i may be a bit on the busier side for the next few weeks
+ i've rped on and off for around nine years now, and i tentatively call myself lazy-lit. my preferred reply length is generally around 300-500 words, though i can push for longer.
+ i'll usually prefer discord or dms for rping, though i'm pretty flexible on that and often just go with the preferences of my partner. i definitely find discord easier for ooc, though, because some part of my mammalian brain finds opening rpn dms deeply anxiety inducing for whatever reason? discord seems to skirt that issue a bit more but if you prefer to stay onsite i'm fine with that as well hsfkjd
+ i basically require romance for rp, and i vastly prefer lgbtq+ pairings. essentially, i'll be willing to rp anything but a milquetoast m/f couple.

+ i'm not too picky on age, but i'd really prefer to rp with someone 17 or older
+ literacy isn't a big concern of mine but i would like a partner capable of a few paragraphs per reply for the most part
+ i'm not too worried about reply times, either! all i really ask is communication so i know the difference between waiting between replies and getting ghosted lmao- if you do take a longer break between messages and i don't bump you, i probably just thought you lost interest, so please feel free to let me know if you ever want to pick something back up. (also feel free to bump me at any time, because i can be a bit of a ditz about this stuff! i will try to be a communicative as possible but i can absolutely be prone to falling off the face of the earth)
+ speaking of communication, i'm a big fan of ooc chatter and the like! i enjoy becoming friends with my rp partners, at least to some extent. so a partner who's down for ping-ponging headcanons, making moodboards and playlists, and all that jazz is absolutely a plus!

now, onto the main event!
this whole search is basically the result of me reading witch hat atelier and getting a massive craving for witchy content! i'm really interested in a more slice-of-life, light-hearted magical vibe, with the sort of pastoral ghibli aesthetic that i'm sure you know and love. not to say that i'm against darker themes, of course, but as far as the overall vibe of the story i'm interested in something much more whimsical than serious. i don't have any especially developed plots at the moment, so if you have any ideas along these lines that you'd like to develop together, please feel free to send them my way! here's the plot bunnies i do have, in a hardly organized list of bullet points.
+ muse a is a witch who's new in town; as per tradition, they've moved far away from home to complete their training. muse b is a native of the town who muse a latches onto almost instantly because they feel so out of their element.
+ muse a is a well-known witch who lives in seclusion in their tower, content to live out their days only ever speaking to those commissioning them for magic, until muse b comes to their doorstep demanding to be taken on as a magical apprentice. muse b clearly has a gift for the craft, but is far sloppier with their work than the renowned muse a, and is determined to learn from them regardless of how much of a pain in the ass it makes them.
+ muse a is a royal who was cursed by a witch at birth. many have tried to undo the curse over the years, but to the chagrin of the royal family, no one has been able to. muse b is the child of the witch who cursed them originally, and is approached to undo the curse as the royal family's final hope.
+ muse a is a forest spirit who's been cursed so that they can't leave the forest's domain- that is until muse b, a traveler passing through, accidentally breaks the seal holding muse a there. now, whether they like it or not, muse b has a very stir crazy spirit traveling by their side.
+ muse a is a shape shifter who uses the form of a cute animal to get both attention and free food from any passerby. their latest target is muse b, but it very quickly becomes clear that their little scheme has been seen through, because muse b is a magic user of their own.
+ muse a, a witch in training, is determined to prove themself as capable. in order to do so, they attempt a high-level summoning ritual that's meant to make the summoned party obey the witch's commands. muse b is the magical being they summon, but with such weak magical power, they aren't actually beholden to muse a's demands. luckily, muse b doesn't seem to want to cause any harm, and actually seems perfectly content sticking around just to mess with their summoner. unluckily, it means muse a has no way to make them leave.
+ magic school! especially if we can get away with academic rivals and magical shenanigans combined, i'm pretty much sold!
+ i love urban fantasy, especially modern witches- any of those kinds of shenangians are up my alley
+ this one's kind of an oddball, but i'm really obsessed with magical mechanics- maybe a mechanical witch creating magical protheses and other magical technical items?
