Between Two Hateful Sides (Telios x Ene Kagerou)

Star watched, determined to learn just how he did it, so that she would be able to one day make pancakes for Takios. She watched him mix the ingredients, and was amazed how easily the blended together. She then watched as he pour the batter into the pan, enjoying the scent of pancakes being cooked.

A while later, Takios plated the pancakes and poured maple syrup over them. He put the plates on the service cart and headed to the dining room.


"Let's go, Star." Takios smiled, pushing the cart.
 
"Yeah," Star said, following him inside, to see almost everyone was already inside.


"Takios's cooking smells good," Yawned Braden, as he scratched behind his horns. Everyone else seemed to agree, with smiles showing on each one of their faces.


Odeus walked in before Leah, stretching and saying, "I haven't slept that well in ages!"


Leah kept quiet, wearing her sweatshirt to hide the red markings on her pale arms, when she walked in. She sat down in the same seat as last night, and Star took a plate in each hand from the cart, and placed them down at each place, going back and forth from the cart to the table. "Yay! She got to help!" Star said.

Takios chuckled when Star said she got to help. He sat down at his place, taking his plate, fork and knife.


"Let's eat, everyone." Takios said, smiling before starting to eat.
 
Everyone else began to eat, silently at first, until Uso spoke up a bit, "Hey, Takios! Is he gonna go to the Yugen school?"


"Don't pressure him, Usa," Odeus sighed, "These decisions take a while."


"Usa is sorry."
 
"Oh," Usa said, "Okay."


Soon most of them were finished and Usa, Uso, Braden, and Leah all stood up to go to the grade school for Yugens, Star continued to eat, finishing her last piece, but waiting for Takios to finish, before she would get up and clean the dishes.
 
Takios quickly finished his pancakes and stood up, collecting the plates, forks and knives to put on the service cart and headed to the kitchen.
 
"Ah! I can help!" Star said, following him quickly into the kitchen. She picked up one of the plates and began to wash just like he had done last night, putting soap on the scrubbie before using it to clean.
 
"Star just wants to help. She wants to do things for Takios, just as he does things for Star," Star explained, finishing with the plates and starting the silverware.
 
"Thanks..." Takios smiled, putting the final plates into the cabinet and started to rinse the silverware and put them into the drawer.
 
"But not just because Takios does things for Star," Star said, finishing the rest of the silverware, "Star does things for Takios because she cares for Takios very much.
 
"Of course!" Star said, smiling at him.


"Star doesn't want to be late to school, does she?" Odeus called out from another room, reminding her of her school.


"Oh yeah!" Star replied. "Sorry,Takios I have to go."
 
"I'll see you later," Star said, as she rushed out of the kitchen and out the door, putting her hood on and going towards the Yugen high school. The high school was a bit far, and despite its large size, it was well hidden by the city buildings.


"Looks like it's just Odeus and Takios," Odeus said, entering the kitchen.
 
"Odeus has questions for Takios," Odeus said, as he walked closed and leaned on the counter, "Does Takios mind if Odeus asks them?"
 
"If Takios hadn't had been in the situation he died in, would he had chosen to be a Yugen on his own? Or would he rather have stayed human?" Odeus knew it was a question that put pressure on a person, and behind his calm expression a smile rested inside of him.
 
"Takios would like to be a Yugen then but he didn't know how to ask..." Takios explained, smiling softly while looking up at the ceiling.
 
"Is it because Takios wants Yugen power? Why does Takios prefer being Yugen?" Odeus asked, neither frowning nor smiling.
