Advice/Help best way to introduce RP idea

Hey guys! I could really use some info about what people want to know most in an RP interest search.

What do you want to know most about the RP someone is introducing in hopes of finding a group of RP partner? I know the basics like what its about but which details really mean a lot to you and are the ones that usually pique your interest in an RP? Also once the RP is active what is it that you want most from it in order to keep you interested? How much action, romance, horror etc... is too much? What are some things you really don't want to see in an RP?
Thank you for reading my thread and I hope you can help me. I really want to make RPs that will be 'alive' and the best I can make them.

Ohh! Well, lemme see...

Interest Check Info
- Synopsis of the Roleplay Plot ( you don't have to write like five pages all about the world just give me a paragraph or two to figure out what it's about, where it might go, and what kind of characters your looking for )
- Rules ( how often do you want me to post, what kind/how many characters can i play, what is the standard of conduct you want to uphold, how much do you want me to write, what are the consequence for breaking the rules, etc. )
- Reservation Limit ( how long after someone posts in the interest check or pre-reserves a spot before the roleplay will be made? )

ROLEPLAY Dynamics
- have a clear idea of where you want to roleplay to go
- have a plan for keeping momentum moving forward ( what to do when things stagnate or people don't post often enough/leave )
- enforce your rules. if you have it in the rules and someone goes against it then hold then accountable.
- follow up with your players ( if the post speed is too fast/slow or your players have concerns address them head on )

May just be personal preference, but I'm fond of gimmicky interest checks myself. For example, you can try to describe the plot synopsis in-character. Remembered this one off the top of my head. Always better to show than tell, and this one does it well. It's short and sweet, and gives you an idea of what tone the RP will take on. As you can see, it built up a lot of hype, and I'd attribute it to the interest check.

You can try to include a few pictures here and there to set the mood as well. Just don't go overboard with it.

Another tip: Make it obvious that your RP has direction. Present a conflict. Be concrete. Be specific. But you don't have to reveal everything all at once. Tease your audience. End your snippet with a cliffhanger.

Personally, I like to write my "prompts" in the second person. I feel like it makes it more personal for the reader -- like it's really them experiencing whatever you're describing. Here's an Interest Check thread that I wrote a week ago, prompt and all. There's probably better examples out there, but ya know. Gotta plug these things from time to time.

Oh yeah, and thread titles are important. Make sure to include two or three keywords in your thread title.

I think most people often neglect describing what roles will players be taking in interest checks. Too often do people only desribe the setting of the roleplay, but not the plot or temperament of a game! You should be letting players know not just the rules of the RP but what can they expect of it. Will it be sandbox? Light-hearted? Combat heavy?
