The Royal Academy is the most prestigious school for young royalty in the world. Known for educating every blood royal on a throne, and those not fortunate enough to make the cut. Those in the school will be educated on how to be an amazing leader.

But, when a childless monarch unexpectedly dies, who will take over his throne? It is up to the professors at the academy to choose the best candidate for the spot. The royal student with the best grades, the most class, and who causes the least drama, will earn the spot on the throne. They will in turn have their choice of a partner by their side on the throne.

So good luck, Royal Academy Students, for this is the most important school year yet. Stay out of the drama, study hard, and don't forget. Everything affects your chances.

  • ,
I've seen the world, done it all. Had my cake now, diamonds, bel air now. hot summer nights, mid-july, when you and i were forever wild, the crazy days, city lights, the way you'd play with me like a child.
Ava walked into the ballroom of the Academy, fingers tracing the edges of her dress as she walked. She was a bit nervous for the first ball of the school year. And honestly, the school year in general. The importance of this year in particular had been stressed to her by her parents the entire way there. So, obviously that stressed her out a bit.

Deep breaths, Ava, she told herself, making her way to a table to set her stuff down. The room was crowded, but she didn't see anyone she knew... As she finally found an empty table and sat down, she assured herself that someone she knew would show up soon. She wouldn't be alone much longer... hopefully.

The ballroom looked amazing. The welcoming gala had always been her favorite. Where she got to catch up with her friends, have fun, and of course, meet the new students and her new classmates. That was really what she was excited for. Ava looked around, seeing the candles, fairy lights, and all sorts of flowers surrounding the unfamiliar new students. This year was sure to be interesting. Now. She wasn't too competitive when it came to getting onto the throne they were competing for. She had a throne that she'd be taking anyway. This was just an opportunity. An opportunity to make an alliance with another kingdom. That's what her parents told her anyway.

Ava left her stuff at the table and walked over to find some snacks. Mmm... the food at the Academy was probably another one of her favorite things. She took a bite out of a chocolate chip cookie and let out a sigh of relief. Ah, finally, she was back at her 2nd home.

feeling... very cereal
floyd morales
Floyd stepped out of his dorm, suit freshly steamed, no wrinkles in sight. He found these galas to be... well, silly. They were here to study, to become better leaders, and they were wasting time on a dance? Hmph. Especially this year. With a whole kingdom on the line, he truly didn't understand why this was happening. But it was a tradition, and Floyd couldn't change it, so he went anyway.

Walking into the ballroom, he looked around at his fellow students. Wow, they looked... very silly by the way they were portraying themselves. Royals should not act like this. Especially if they really wanted to be crowned king or queen of that kingdom. Whatever. That just meant Floyd had a better chance of being the king himself. Yes, he was the Duke of Apore, and yes that was good. However, being a king? That would do so much good... for everyone.

Floyd grabbed a drink and made his way to an unoccupied table, sitting down and listening to the music. Ah, at least something was elegant when his classmates wouldn't be. Though, as much as people got on his nerves, he really didn't like being alone. Well, not right now anyway. He looked around, trying to find anyone who could keep him slightly entertained...

Miriam was more than ecstatic for the beginning of the school year. And especially for the welcoming gala. It was her favorite ball to throw, during the entire school year. She loved to see her students happy, and the first ball of the year was the perfect way to show them how she did things... Well, fun things anyway. By the time Monday morning came, she would no longer be considered "fun." She'd be back to the strict, boring, mean headmistress.

But not tonight, tonight was her last night to let loose before the classes started. Finishing up the last little touches to her makeup, and spraying a bit more hairspray on her hair, Miriam made her way to the ballroom. She was pleased to see that it was bustling with excited students. Dancing, talking, and of course, eating. She smiled at how much they seemingly enjoyed the food. She enjoyed it as well.

Gliding around the room effortlessly, Miriam smiled warmly at her students, having small conversations with a few. The simple 'How was your summer?' or 'Are you excited to start at the academy?' She enjoyed getting to know the students personally, and could almost call them all by name. With the exception of a few quiet students, and the newer ones.

Disquieted, Interested, bothered.
Ophelia Greenade

"Ophelia Greenade. I'm Opehlia Greenade.." Standing in the mirror in her dorm she extended her hand forward, and smiled. "Ugh!" as soon as the corners of her mouth moved to form a smile, Ophelia stumbled over, holding her head. She was practicing her introduction.. Which isn't the easiest thing with a hangover headache. 'First impressions are always important, people must know the best version of you, it's the first thing that really sticks with someone.' was something her mother always reminded her when meeting new people. Ophelia wasnโ€™t the most expressive compared to others, and it usually came off as if she was constantly upset, or worried. Sighing she looked at her face in the mirror. Maybe just going as is wouldn't be a problem.. After all, a future queen can't be too emotional, no? โ€œMaybe that could be an advantage, all I need is a balance.โ€ Closing her eyes she turned to her desk and grabbed the near empty glass of water and chugged the rest before grabbing her things and walking out.

Not long after she was in front of the main building. Stopping before it she patted any stray hairs down, straightened out her clothing, and proceeded to walk in. Her head was held high, and she took small but confident steps as she walked into the Welcoming Gala. Her pace slowed a little as the ball was quite the sight, she couldn't help but admit she was a little intimidated by the amount of students.

A few seemed to be social, and a few others seemed to be more on the quiet side. 'It would be wise to make early, maybe even genuine connections, but it may also be an inconvenience to others who do not wish to take part in such.' Thinking, she suddenly snapped out of her daze as someone walked by, she realized she had been standing there just looking around like some lost dog. Quietly cursing herself she slowly walked to the food table and began pouring herself some water.

'Hopefully this headache goes away before I'm forced to engage in conversation.' She thought, as she went to sit down to observe the ball.
