Set in a gothic Arthurian realm - without an Arthur or Excalibur. The strong take what they want from the weak. Your lands are preyed upon by such men. Fortunately there are a few men, greater knights, who have banded together in an effort to bring order to the land under the banner of a king to whom they have sworn fealty. But they are few in number; their enemies many.
The robber barons take so much of your crops that you can scarcely feed yourselves. Then they take the young women they want, and the strongest sons. Your family; your lands; are not yet under the protection of this king. You were on your way to seek their aid and establish a treaty. But your escort came under attack and you were forced to flee, thrown up on a horse of a fallen man by one of your escorts.
The raiders gave pursuit but the horse brought you to an abandoned keep as night was falling (feel free to name it). Only there did the raiders balk. (Their leader may threaten them enough to follow you in - or maybe not.) Fearing the raiders more than whatever evil lay waiting in the shadows of the keep, you continued.
At first the raiders balked. But their leader threatened to kill them himself if they didn’t keep going. With no choice you moved further in hoping to find a place to hide.
Then came the moaning of the spirits. Only it didn’t quite sound like spirits - not to someone educated. It sounded - artificial - rhythmic. (It is a bullroarer. You know, that thing Mick Dundee used to call for help in Crocodile Dundee II.) The raiders balked again, but the leader repeated his threats. The sounds stopped. A few minutes later the raiders started shouting in confusion. Then came the screaming. Then they fled.
A few more minutes of silence and the spirit of the haunted keep bellowed in a strange voice. You had no idea what they said as the voice was so distorted. They repeated themselves a few more times before you got the gist.
“Who dares disturb my place of rest!?”
It sounded like they were using a large cone to make themselves heard.
The Characters
This is being set up as an FxF (non romantic). You see the Lady is about to discover that her savior is no man, but a giantess Amazon warrior (6’5”) from faraway. She has very little in the way of weapons, just some swords such as the raiders use. In fact, they look exactly like the ones the raiders used. (That’s where she got them from.)
The idea is that the Lady will somehow convince the Amazon to help her get to the King so she can plead her case. After that …
Now I plan to include some romance, but with NPCs. Your character might end up in the part of a Gwenevere. Mine will make her interest known once she sees it. Problem, is, to the locals she is a barbarian and her interest see her as such.

3rd Person, Past Tense
Decent literacy, spelling and grammar.
I tend to post a minimum of a page. But quality over quantity. Contribute to the plot.
Yes, I know I used a lot of second person in the narrative above. Oh well.
