BBCoding duplicating after I save coding

I'm not sure if it's a bug or it's been addressed, but, while I was posting in my workshop, I noticed the times I went to edit, certain coding "copied and double up on itself." Example. Is there a way to stop it or what not? It's just annoying having to backtrack and delete the copies.

If it's a big issue, try working in the BB Code Editor. This prevents code from doubling on you. As far as I know, that's the only way to prevent it. It's the rich text editor trying to 'help' you.

Oh? Can you tell me how to do that?

WAIT! xD I think I found the button.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm more comfortable working in this kind of format than using rich text.

This BBCoding duplicating is becoming a problem. It's now breaking my code I've set up so far. I'm forced to go into a word doc just to clean up the excess duplicate to try and salvage what I've put together so far in my workshop.

You can also go into your preference settings, and change it so that your default editor is the bbcode editor, not the rich text. Though as far as I know, code only doubles if something isn't closed properly. At least that's been my experience.

Honestly, this is why I always use the BBcode Editor over the Rich Text Editor.

It hinders more than it helps and can end up murdering a good chunk of work. ·—·

Yeah. I don't like the rich coding and use the editor. But, hmm... it seems like I have to close every coding line or something. I tend to close them per group [aka I'm done with the section that needed said coding].

Might just be the switching back and forth - If you go into your profile, you can edit your preferences - Just check off the box that automatically uses rich-text editor as your default.

I'll keep doing that along with keeping a master copy in a word doc. That's been working alright so far. Thanks for the tips though! Hmm, can you tell me where I can go for suggestions for updating/tweaking the forums? I do have one for graphics [if it's possible that is].

It's this same subforum actually, Site Questions & Information.

You'd simply post a new thread, making sure to select the Suggestion prefix from the menu next to the title. ^^

Those threads can be made in this forum, actually - Just use the prefix "Suggestion" -- Not all of them will be able to be used, obviously, but the staff always appreciates them.

Wow. xD So ninja'd.

What happens is that once you go into Rich Text Editor, at any point including for editing or switching back and forth, it will duplicate complicated bbcode and mess up the code. To prevent this, you can always disable the Rich Text Editor permanently in your preferences. Or create the code in a different file and copy paste, and use the Preview feature to check things.
