BBC Sherlock: A Good Neighbor

"I will certainly try my best. But, I can't guarantee the rest of the world will agree. They have a bad habit of ruining everything." She chuckles softly at her joke despite there being some truth to it. Being in a whatever-this-was with Sherlock Holmes was certainly going to present a challenge, perhaps with some immediate repercussions. She could only imagine that the media was having a field day with Sherlock being the man of the hour. After all, he was dead not too long ago and now he was disarming bombs and saving girls from watery graves. He was becoming quite the national hero.

Sherlock sat back as he looked over at her. Nodding in agreement to her statement as she bit his lip before deciding it would be best not to mention anything that could potentially make her run off so instead he decided to mention the could potentially make her run off. He stood up and looked down at her with a slight smile. "How's the addiction?" He asked with a smile as he moved to stand between her and the door incase she suddenly felt the need to bolt away from him.

"I'm doing alright, I suppose. But it's all relative." She gets to her feet as well, half-faking to make a run for it. Instead, she walks over to him and gives him a soft kiss. "Please. I just got you back. There's no way in hell I would run off after all I've been through just because you asked a question. You're stuck with me now, Sherlock Holmes." She chuckles softly, smiling at him.

"I suppose you could call it stuck with you. Or you could say happy living together. Either way I didn't know how you were doing. But I suppose the withdrawal hasn't kicked in yet because of the fact that you haven't been calm without drama in a few days since you went cold turkey." He mused, smiling when she kissed him before looking down at her deep in thought.

"Not being calm is putting it lightly. I'm surprised I still have hair after all the stress I've been through." She chuckles at the thought of herself bald. She would definitely have to buy a wig if that ever happened. "If the withdrawal was nearly unbearable, I'd figure something out... Check myself into rehab or something."

He glanced down at her with a raised eye brow. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. Those things, at least here, tend not to be too successful with their patients. More damage than help is usually done."

"Duly noted." She says with a small nod. It was kind of sad to hear that was the case, considering they were people that had no choice but to turn to places like those. She decides that they should probably shift away from this topic of conversation before she gets too upset. "Did I ever thank you for rescuing me? Because the customary damsel in distress is far more than two words." She remarks teasingly, uncertain if it might go over his head. Either way it was going to be a win for her. She was going to have a good laugh or get to give her 'proper thank you' and either would be enjoyable.

He was now deep in thought as he considered everything about her addiction. Struggling to determine how she had managed not to go back to the house. It would be a rough next few months, she probably wouldn't be completely normal again for a year. Everyone had slips, before her question pulled him from his thoughts. "No, you didn't. Why?"

"Because..." She drags out the word slightly, following it with a soft giggle. "...if you haven't got anywhere to be, I'd like to thank you them through more than just words." Biting her lip bottom lip as she grins, she takes half a step closer to him despite already being rather close. She was nearly certain he wasn't going to get the subtly but she was enjoying it anyway. Besides she didn't want to scare him off too quickly.

His eyes watched her movements as he grew increasingly confused. His eye brows raising as he watched her for a few moments, not picking up at all at what she was trying to suggest. Sherlock didn't understand social cues in the slightest. "How can you thank me more than words?"

She rolls her eyes a bit with a laugh. "How can a man that knows so much understand so little?" She remarks teasingly, dropping into the chair across from where he usually sits. "Besides, I don't think you'd be interested anyway."

He watched her plop into his seat as he narrowed his eyes at her. "Interested in what? You're not being very clear my dear." He said kneeling down in front of her as he brushed a strand of hair behind her ear with a smirk.

"That's sort of the point, my dear." She remarks as a grin spreads across her features. "It's the kind of thing you typically don't blatantly talk about. I mean, I have but I wouldn't want to distress you by doing so." She adds the last bit teasingly, cupping his face with a small giggle.

He watched her as his eye brows furrowed together in confusion as he tried to contemplate how she could thank him without words. "Do you sincerely think you can distress me by thanking me? What's the point of the thank you then?" He asked watching her as he raised an eye brow.

"Well, my typical form of gratitude is a mutually pleasurable one. So that's one reason." Her grin widens at his confusion. He was such fun to toy with sometimes. She was debating whether to state what she was implying or to try having him 'deduce' it still. Oh, she wanted to stay it so bad! But she knew it would only piss him off so she held her tongue.

He stared at her for a few seconds when realization slammed into him like a truck as he watched her blankly. Deciding and deducting results, struggling to come up with a decision. "Is that what you really want?"

She watches his expression carefully as it transition quickly from confusion to stunned realization. Just as quickly, her attitude shifted as well. It wasn't playing games now. It was real choices with real consequences. "Is it what you want?"

He looked up at her as he raised an eye brow before shaking his head at her while smiling. "I asked you first, and ladies first anyways." He said before leaning back on his heals as he looked up at her.

She mirrors his smile after a moment of contemplation. The decision wasn't that challenging to make, it was the delivery of her answer that she was uncertain of. "Do you want the short answer or the long answer?"

He looked at her as he raised his eye brow before biting his lip and shrugging. "I suppose long answer." It wasn't too hard to decide, because she would more than likely give him both answers when answering with the long one.

She lets out an exasperated sigh as if it were such a bother to answer followed by a soft giggle to let him know she was kidding. "Well, over the past few years I've done some very silly things ranging from allowing myself to be kidnapped to hold a ladder to staying in a country with nothing to my name. Every night I think about all those things and I ask myself if I regret those choices. And some I do. And some were out of my hands. But the ones that I don't regret are the ones that brought me here to you because I have never loved someone in my life so entirely. Just being near you, being able to call you mine makes me happier. But the only thing that makes me happier is seeing you happy. So, short answer: I'm down for whatever, yo." She makes a fake gang sign before bursting into laughter. "Had to ruin the sentiment somehow..." She pauses to recollect herself before continuing. "But, honestly, I want what you want and I'm not overly compelled either way. Oh, look at that cheating. Going right down the center." She crinkles her nose as she grins at her own commentary.

He looked down at her as he bit his lip. Nodding softly as he groaned gently. "That's not really an answer. But I suppose my answer would be similar. I know you know this, but I don't really feel the need for sexual relief, but if you ever do...well you know." He said shrugging softly before standing up and stretching. "So I guess we shall wait, why don't you come with me to the grocery store?" He asked going to the table where his wallet and keys were as he smiled at her, once she was standing he took her hand and walked with her towards the door.

Olivia gets to her feet and walks to the door with him before hesitating. His reaction had sent her mind reeling and now she had just about a million questions swirling around that demanded answers. "Have you ever... felt 'the need for sexual relief'?" The phrase was incredibly strange for her but she figured it made him more comfortable to take it from a more scientific standpoint.

He glanced down at her as they stepped out into the hall. Pulling the door shut behind them as he locked it and began down the steps as he looked down at her with a small smile. "Occasionally, why?" He asked watching her with raised eye brows, he knew where this was headed.

"Because I'm nosy as always." She slides down the railing of the stairs past him, hopping onto her feet when she reaches the bottom. Turning back to him with a follow-up question, she can't help but smirk a little bit. "Have you ever acted on those desires?"
