    The Inner Sphere was used to war. For hundreds of years after the collapse of the Star League the Five Great Houses fought each other in seemingly endless Succession Wars. They knew war by aerofighter, by infantry, and most of all by BattleMech. But they were not prepared for an attack from the Deep Periphery, beyond the edges of known space.

    The invaders had technology beyond what any of the Five Houses had, tech beyond even the lost glory days of the Star League. Some claimed they were aliens. The truth, once known, was harder to swallow: these were the descendants of the Star League Defense Force that had left with Aleksandr Kerensky after the Civil War hundreds of years ago. Multiple planets in the Draconis Combine, Federated Commonwealth, and Free Rasalhague Republic have fallen under control of Clans Jade Falcon, Smoke Jaguar, Wolf, and Ghost Bear. The governments of these two great houses and one independent state are scrambling to defend their people from further waves of invasions.

    This is where we come in. A rag tag little merc lance, we're nothing fancy. But we've got 'Mechs and we're not opposed to kicking Clan ass for cold hard cash.

I'm getting a bit stretched atm and I'd have to *shudder* play a OC, but tactical episodic mech combat sounds enticing. I will say I'm interested , especially if you don't lean too hard into rng. To the point where it's immersion breaking.

Will there be stats? Custom abilities that need approval, or premade from a list?
One character per player right?

hello! yeah, one character per player. it's going to be extremely light dice, in that we'll probably just roll a couple of straight d6 if needed to make hard decisions, or at the beginning of a fight to decide if we're working towards a win or a lose. I don't foresee including stats or abilities at all--this is primarily a lit rpg rather than a ttrpg! If it's something your character and their mech should be able to do narratively i want to see it, basically.
 
Definitely interested in this. I've been a fan of the tabletop version for a number of years now. I'll admit my lore recall is pretty poor...
