Kapai Academy was built by a producer who had so much money she didn't exactly know what to do with all of it. So she decided to build an Academy where she would train future idols in the ways of being a star.

The Academy, while very large, has a relatively small population, because the auditions to get in are very harsh and super specific, requiring only the best of the best, and the most hardworking of them all.

At the academy, students not only work on excelling in the arts of idols and academics, but they also help the civilians of the town to collect, "DEBUT! Points," because a student needs 300 points to become an idol, and 600 points to graduate. A student cannot become an idol without 300 points.

There is one exception to this rule. Recently, the mayor of the local area complained to the headmistress about how the city isn't gaining any significant amount of popularity with her idols so far, because there aren't very many of them that are really great, compared to the idols of other places. The headmistress, without much choice, agrees to select two groups of idols from all the students, including those without the points. A boys group and a girls group are selected from the supposedly top 10 students in the entire school. "Crystal Princes," and, "Rainbow Lullaby," were formed to save the reputation of the school and the city, but can they really do it? Will they succeed in becoming popular enough? Or will they turn out just like the rest of all Kapai's idols?
