hello,
just wanted to see if anyone was interested in joining a roleplay focused on bands touring. There will, of course, be some backstory and it won't be just the usual 'these famous bands are super rivals' that seem to be the norm. I intend for there to be two bands, but may add a third band if interest is great enough. I've done this roleplay before, on other sites, but as seems to be the norm, died off after a few weeks. It belongs on a site where some more adult themes can be explored, such as potential drug and alcohol use and even language (gasp).
Anyway, to discuss the backstory in short hand: Mock Soldier gains fame quickly and has a few years of success before an accident leaves three of four members of the band dead. The band is, of course, presumed history and left to be grieved over. Two years after the accident, an announcement is made: the surviving member of the band, the singer/rhythm guitarist, has auditioned three new members for the band after writing more music and an album has been released. Sitting idle didn't fit too well in his life so he figured he would see if there were still fans out there that would embrace them on the music scene. After the album is surprisingly well-received, the band's record company decides the band is ready to go on tour, paired with another band or two.
Mock Soldier will tour with a band that they have toured with (at least the surviving original member has) before, Passing Decade. Passing Decade gained fame primarily through online exposure and a national battle of the bands contest whose end prize was a record deal. They are coming off a small break from touring, having been in studio for their third studio album. Now, they are back to touring, excited to do so.
The third band, if interest is enough, is Co-Lapse. This band have been around for two years longer than even Mock Soldier, rising to fame out of pure hard work and grit, word of mouth, and dedicated fans. Unlike the other two bands, this is a five person band, rather than four. Fifth album for them. They've been touring non-stop, essentially.
This would be intended to be detailed and literate, so I'd love to see 400+ word posts, or, at least a chunky paragraph or two. You don't need to have a crud ton of music knowledge to join, just an interest in this. Romance is welcome, of course, all sexual orientations and gender identities welcome. Content-wise, I'd love to see some drama and angst (how can there not be?), perhaps some drug and alcohol stuff in there, because I've not had the opportunity to see that happen in any of the RPs I've been in yet.
