Babybones! (Closed)

It was early in the morning, the underground was still dark. The lights were beginning to flicker on filling the underground with faint lights. W.D Gaster had woken up early, earlier than usual. He marveled at the darkness, but soon recalled that it was time to go to work. He went into the other bedroom and scooped up two small skeletons from the race-car bed, taking a quick shortcut to the lab. He was the Royal scientist at the time and had to balance work and his family life. Taking care of Baby bones was hard to do. The lights in the lab were out and he slid a green card, which caused the lights to turn on. The lights flickered slightly, the electricity needed to be rewired.

He took the baby bones into the examination room, which had been remodeled recently to be a children's playroom. The room was a creme-beige color and grey cabinets were attached to the ceiling out of small hands. The cabinets held medicine, and some chemicals used for medical reasons. There were toy chests that held action figures, toys, puzzles and stuffed animals. In the corner of the room was a baby blue bed with animal patterns on it.

He laid them down and patted their head. He tucked the small skeletons into bed.

Papyrus was the taller skeleton wearing his red boots, red scarf, orange shirt and shorts. He spoke in a louder font that demanded attention and wished to be heard.

His brother, the lazy one, spoke in a quieter font than his brother and often had a reserved attitude as well as a lazy one at best.

"Papyrus, make sure your brother doesn't cause any trouble...Behave.." He whispered to them and left.

Sans soon woke up from a nightmare and shook Papyrus.

Papyrus was dreaming of flying with his brother and father all around the underground when he was roughly shaken from his sleep. He woke immediately and looked around. Did something happen? It was bedtime, right? He rolled over in the bed to see his brother, he looked really... worried. The little skeleton tried with all his might to speak quietly, it looked rather dark outside after all. He didn't want to interrupt his dad's work either.

"ARE YOU OKAY, SANS?" A small success for Papyrus who had lowered his voice to a decent level, for once. "WHAT'S WRONG?" His brother looked so scared, the little pupil lights he had were really hard to find they were so small. "WANT ME TO GO AND GET DAD?" He didn't want to interrupt Gaster but, if this was something serious his dad always said to tell him immediately!

Sans clung to his brother tightly without saying a word,he whimpered softly. He soon managed to get a few words out.

"....nightmare.....bad...one..." He whispered.

Sans knew where they were. They were at dad's work place again like always. The room looked familiar to him and their dad was probably busy. The same drawings were on the wall and Sans had tears in his eyesockets.

"Don't get dad!"

he didn't want his father's work to be stunted by his silly nightmares. Dad would be mad at him and be gone even longer if he did that. He knew it. He kept clinging to papyrus for dear life and hoping he would calm down.

He had dreamt that they had left him behind, because he was too lazy and weak. All he had was one hp,so they left him at home to get Nice cream and never came back for him. Sans was scared of that happening and cried softly.

Papyrus hugged his brother tightly and willed himself not to start crying too. It was hard when his brother always had bad dreams. He wished he could share his dream with his brother, so maybe they could fly around the Underground together! That is unless Sans' dreams were about heights and Sans was afraid of heights. He never really ever said what his dreams were about, but they affected him a lot.

"DON'T WORRY BROTHER." He gently patted his brother's head. "DAD WON'T LET ANYTHING BAD HAPPEN EVER TO US! HE'LL BEAT UP THE BAD THINGS WITH THE SCIENCEY STUFF THAT HE MAKES!" The small skeleton grinned smugly. "AND WHEN I GET BIG I'LL JOIN THE ROYAL GUARD AND PROTECT YOU FROM BAD DREAMS TOO!" He gently clacked his teeth against his brother's skull in the way that their dad always did before bed.

Sans sniffled and relaxed at the gentle clack of his teeth against his skull. He was cheered up by his brother's words and he seemed to be worried about him. He didn't want paps to worry too much. He clung to his brother's shirt and closed his eyes. Sans grip on papyrus tightened as he shifted closer to him.

"P-paps..."

He yawned slightly and whimpered.

"Will you or Dad ever leave...C-cause my one hp...?"

Sans was frowning and was worried he would say yes to it. Dad would of course save him from anything bad,but they would get sick of it eventually. Sans was dragging them down with his low hp. It was a hassle to keep him safe from every little thing.

Now it was Papyrus' turn to frown. Why would he and his dad leave Sans? And for such a silly reason! They were family and that meant they had to stick together!

"ME AND DAD WON'T EVER LEAVE YOU! WE'RE A FAMILY, SO WE HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER!" Papyrus just couldn't imagine a life without his brother! He would be so lonely and scared and so very bored! "AND PLUS WE'RE A TEAM! YOU AND ME, THE BEST SKELETON BROTHERS EVER! AND DAD LOVES BOTH OF US, OKAY?" He hoped he was reassuring enough. He never ever would even dream of abandoning his brother, and he knew that his dad would never do it either. And while Paps had his glowing personality, Sans was far more advanced with his magic! "YOU'RE SUPER COOL! SO DON'T WORRY! NYEH HEH HEH!"

"paps...." He clung to his brother more assured that they would never leave him. They were a great team and paps seemed to believe it too despite his low hp.

"I wish i didn't have one hp..." He confessed sadly.

He liked having a lot of magic, but he rather have more hp so he could play games with his bro. Like Monsters and humans. A monster would summon the soul and then the kid would try to dodge the small attacks. They weren't strong enough to kill, but it was a deadly game to sans. A kid would also try to attack the human and whoever attacked the kids the most won. Or if you hurt all the humans enough then it would be enough.

"Thanks for cheering me up" Sans smiled, yawning lazily and curling up in the blankets.

Papyrus heard the door slowly creak open.

Papyrus clacked his teeth against his brother's skull and hugged him tighter. He wished his brother had more than 1 HP too, because that would make his brother happy. He always seemed a little scared because of it, even though he had the strongest magic Papyrus had ever seen. It was almost as strong as his dad's! Maybe even the king!

"DON'T WORRY, SANS. IT'S JUST LIKE DAD SAYS, YOU'RE FINE JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!" He grinned at his brother and saw that he had stopped crying for the most part. Perfect! He was so happy that his brother felt better! He could feel that small smile his brother had against him as they hugged each other in the dark room. The small skeleton heard the door creak open. Uh oh. Was that dad? Had he been too loud? He laid silently while holding his brother.

They saw a bright light come from the crack,a small nurse walked in quietly and reached for the grey cabinet. She saw papyrus looking at her and smiled.

"hello, you must be Gaster's kid." She smiled warmly at him.

She was a purple dino looking nurse with small flecks of pink on her skin. She had a nice welcoming smile and didn't seem to notice his brother laying beside him. The nurse grabbed a black bottle from the cabinet and closed it carefully not making much of a sound. Sans was half asleep for the most part, his crying had ceased earlier due to his brother's pep talks.

"pap....who's there." He questioned sleepily and the nurse flinched at the small voice. She had a file in her hands and papers scattered all over the floor.

Papyrus smiled at the stranger, always happy to make a new friend even if he was really sleepy!

"IT IS NICE TO MEET YOU, MISS SCIENTIST LADY." He rubbed his eye sockets and snuggled close to his brother. He could feel himself drifting back to sleep. "DON'T WORRY SANS. IT'S JUST A NICE LADY WHO WORKS WITH DAD." He heard lots of paper fall to the ground and frowned. Did the lady drop her things? "DO YOU NEED HELP, MA'AM?" He could never turn down a chance to help someone out! Not even if he was bone tired and adorably unable to stay awake!

Sans groaned softly,he was too tired to ask her name and paps was talking to her. His brother soon heard him snoring softly in his sleep, breathing softly.

"Oh no,I couldn't ask that of you. You seem really tired. Maybe you should go to sleep and when you wake up I can take you someplace fun." She smiled and bent down to pick up the papers.

She smiled at papyrus,he was such a young boy and very tall too. He was awfully helpful and seemed to be a kind skeleton. She wished more people had his kind of attitude, but it was always more depressing as more time passed. She waved bye to papyrus and shut the door quietly behind them. Sans clung to his brother's shirt and slept peacefully.

Papyrus yawned and watched as the lady picked up her things. Boy was he tired. That dinosaur lady seemed really nice. He snuggled closer to his brother, and relaxed a little. His brother napping next to him really did calm him down and make him sleepy. He rubbed his eye sockets and and grinned.

"BYE BYE MISS SCIENTIST." His eyes drooped more, he couldn't even focus on the visitor. "I CAN'T WAIT TO GO SOMEWHERE FU-..." He fell asleep in the middle of his sentence. This was surprisingly normal for the skeleton, his energy reserves seemed limited, but once they ran out he slept like a rock. Many a time Gaster had to catch his taller son and save him from falling from somewhere dangerous once he ran out of energy. His snores, soft 'Nyeh' sounds, mixed in with with his brother's snores. It was a peaceful scene.

When papyrus wakes up his brother is no longer in bed. The room was lit and a cabinet was opened, which seemed to be out of reach. The toys were scattered around the room in a frenzy and there were scribbles on the wall. Some of the pictures had been blasted with small gaster blasters, which left scorch marks on the walls along with a few holes. The door was opened slightly and papyrus head people talking outside the room. He also began to hear screaming followed by the sound of blasters, which didn't seem normal.

Papers were thrown in the air and sirens went off as the room was filled with the shrieking of people. It seemed very scary. Sans was nowhere to be found, but the people kept screaming about a skeleton that was having a panic attack. Everyone was stumbling around trying to grab the small child as they continued to blast.

Papyrus woke to a cacophony of sounds. There were alarms and sirens screeching all around him. He rolled over to ask his brother what was wrong. There was only an empty space. The room was an absolute wreck. Where did his brother go? What happened? What was going on? Did something bad happen to his brother? Papyrus was panicking himself into a worried puddle. He didn't have powerful magic like his brother, and he wasn't smart like his dad, and he wasn't big like the other adults. So he did all that he knew he had the power to do, he cried. And it wasn't a soft silent type of crying, it was a loud wailing cry. He could wrench the soul of any passerby with pity and sorrow with his crying. His zygomatics were tearstained as he climbed out of bed towards the open door.

"D-DAAAAAD!! SANS!!" He rubbed at his eyes with his scarf and sniffled. He couldn't see them anywhere. He sat on the floor and wailed for his brother and father, scared and confused among the bustling scientists. This was scary. This was bad. He wished he could do more, but at this point he just wanted to be held and have his brother with him again.

Sans rushed in the room with papyrus and hugged him tightly,he broke down crying with his brother. He was covered in small bruises and bone scrapes.

"P-pap....D-don't cry.." His heart broke at the sight of seeing his brother like this. He used his magic to shut and lock the door, still shaking slightly and choking back tiny sobs. He was scared because he had woken up early in-between his nightmares and he panicked badly. He had blasted a couple scientists and they in turned sounded the alarms. He was afraid and scared. He never stopped blasting until he heard a loud wailing noise coming from the room.

"Pappy...I'm okay..." He clacked his teeth against his forehead, like his brother had done once before to calm him down.

Sans looked beaten up and a couple scientists beat on the door, they were concerned for the children inside. They needed to get out and head outside with them.

Papyrus sniffled and held his brother close. Oh thank goodness his brother was okay. He had a few scratches and bruised bones, but he was still here. He had worried for nothing then, which was preferable than worrying and something bad actually happening. He tried to stem his tears as best he could. His brother's skeleton kiss made him feel a bit calmer. He had really worried himself, the poor skeleton was still shivering.

"ARE YOU OKAY SANS? I WOKE UP AND IT WAS SO SCARY." He wiped his tears with his scarf. "I THOUGHT SOMETHING REALLY BAD HAD HAPPENED TO YOU." He didn't like being so worried for his brother, he wanted everything to be okay. A delayed feeling of relief washed over him and he cried more, this crying was softer, more out of relief than anything. His brother was okay. He just hugged Sans tightly and tried to speak through his tears. "PLEASE WAKE ME UP IF THERE'S AN EMERGENCY SO WE CAN STAY TOGETHER NEXT TIME." He heard beating from outside of the door. He hoped they weren't in trouble.

Sans bones were aching and he hurt really badly despite that it didn't harm him hp. He tried to hole back tears welling up in his eyes. He was also concerned for his brother, who had looked scared to death. The sirens soon stopped, but the scientists kept trying to open the door. Sans felt weak from the small injuries and held onto his brother, nuzzling against his scarf. Papyrus had been so worried about him and his crying was the only reason he came to. Sans felt sick inside and he whispered quick apologies to his brother.

"I-i promise...I promise.... " He whimpered and clung to him as a blaster fired and hit off the door.

Metal shards flew everywhere as sans used his magic to shield them getting knocked back in the process. They saw a team of scientists waiting for them and they quickly scooped them up,tending to papyrus's small bruises and scrapes from the blast.

Papyrus heard his brother's promise and smiled through his sniffles. Good. He was glad they had a plan now for emergencies. The skeleton felt his brother lean into his scarf. He tried to calm his little after-tears hiccups. Everything was okay now. His brother was safe. That didn't mean he wasn't terrified for Sans still. Their dad wasn't gonna be happy with all this mess. His brother blasted the door away instead of just unlocking it and a horde of scientists rushed forward. 'Oh good.' Papyrus liked being held, but he did not like the fact that he was separated from his brother again. This day was just a mess. They placed him on the bed and started swabbing at him and applying bandages.

"MY BROTHER IS HURT TOO! YOU HAVE TO HELP HIM!" He looked to his brother then back to the scientists. He hoped they would listen. Papyrus already felt more crying coming on and tried to hold it back as best he could. His skull was throbbing from all that crying from before. He wanted his brother next to him so they could hold hands like they always did when Papyrus was scared. "WHERE'S DAD?" He needed some high quality comforting now. This was just too much for the little babybones.

Sans was worried forhis brothers sake. He seemed to be really scared and sans moved over to grab his brothers hand as the scientists lighty applied some medicine to their wounds. A scientist picked up sans as

Their father rushed into the room. He was a mess and there were gray stains on his labcoat. He strode over to his children and gently took them into his arms, shushing them gently. The scientists merely watched as the royal scientist tried to calm them down. Sans clung to papyrus to help him calm down after such a fright. He felt upset because his brother was.

Gaster smiled at the two and asked what had happened. He recieved his rreply and looked at sans.sighing. The scientist then requested the rest of the day off to be with his sons,no one told him otherwise.

"Papyrus,sans....let's go out and get some nice cream...Will that help you feel better?"

Papyrus gripped his brother's hand as the scientist dressed his minor wounds. He sniffled a bit as a scientist picked up Sans then saw his father rush into the room. He whimpered as his dad scooped them into his arms and calmed them. He started crying again, but much quieter. Skeleton buried his face in his dad's labcoat. He heard his dad say something, but his head was throbbing so badly that he didn't hear it. Nice cream? That would be good. He nodded.

"I WOULD LIKE THAT. AND SANS WOULD TOO! RIGHT SANS?" He sniffled and smiled at his brother. His dad could always be counted on to make the brothers feel all better! He clacked his teeth against his dad's zygomatics. "MWAH! THANK YOU DAD!"

Sans nodded and smiled at his brother, hugging him.

"its alright pappy." He assured him and tried to stop his soft cries.

Gaster blushed slightly thinking it was the cutest thing that papyrus did. He took them out of the labs and headed to waterfall, where the water reflected glittering stones. Sans thought they looked like twinkling stars and his father ventured deeper into the caves. It felt cooler the deeper in they went and water was dripping from the ceiling. Sans was kinda thrown off by the dark appearance and quietness of the cave. It was too quiet and he didn't like it all. He nudged his brother to get his attention that something seemed to be up. Gaster took them into a room where the Nice cream man was waiting for them.

Papyrus loved seeing both his dad and his brother smiling so much. It made him happy. Soon enough his tears finally stopped as three travelled through waterfall. He always liked being in Waterfall. There were flowers that could repeat what you said! And lots of shiny rocks on the ceilings! And fun puddles to splash in! And those fun little...dog things in the village where the glowing mushrooms were! He didn't really even mind the peaceful silence of the caverns either. Usually, Papyrus didn't normally like quiet places, he wasn't a very quiet person and he never really enjoyed silent places. But after being in the midst of all of those sirens and alarms and crying his soul out, he really appreciated the lack of noise. He felt his brother nudge him as they walked into the cave with the Nice Cream man inside. Was something wrong? How could there be when their dad was taking them out for ice cream! The small skeleton squealed with delight! It was Nice Cream time! He loved his dad so much!

Sans didn't like the quietness. It made him feel like something was creeping around the corner. Papyrus seemed happy though,so why was he?? Why didn't the quietness drive him insane? It drove sans mad. He felt anxious and barely noticed dad asking them what kind of icecream they wanted. Papyrus hadn't noticed his nudging or just shrugged it off. OF course nothing was wrong. The glowing mushrooms and flowers were kinda comforting. He would have to just shove off the feeling of fear and be brave for his brother.

"Nice cream....ketchup one...." He mumbled.
