Acceptance Letter
Greetings,
We are proud to announce that your application to Azurecoast Academy has been accepted! We appreciate your commitment to furthering your education at our state-of-the-art campus, and we will do our best to help you fulfill whatever goals you may seek through your enrollment at this prestigious academy.
You are required to arrive on campus on September 20th for the orientation at 10 am. Seranova Time. The orientation will occur in the main auditorium near the dorm buildings. You may arrive earlier if you please, but the campus will still be getting ready for the school year and will open for students on the 20th. As such, make travel/boarding plans for the days before the orientation, as your dorms will not be accessible until then. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Your schedule, which includes classes related to your chosen major and minor alongside other classes that are required for graduation, is attached. If you notice any errors, please contact the Counselor’s Office immediately upon your arrival.
Your room key, along with your room number and your student ID card, is included as well. You will be roomed with two other students. If you have any concerns, please contact the front desk at your dorm building upon your arrival. We have also attached a map of the campus for your convenience.
We can’t wait to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Dean Levi Stallings
Dorm Halls
There are three dorm halls located on campus. These halls have six floors and are generally very architecturally related to each other, only really separated by name. Each dorm hall has a first-floor lounge with some amenities, a receptionist desk, vending machines, a fully operational self-Pokemon healing center, and, of course, dorm rooms.
Each dorm room is a decent size and somewhat luxurious. You will share your room with two other students, so there are three bedrooms. Within each room is a living room with a television, a mini-kitchen with a fridge and freezer, and a bathroom.
There are quiet hours from 10 pm to 6 am. Anyone caught violating this rule will be disciplined accordingly. There is no curfew - but security is on high alert during these hours, so it is highly recommended you get to your dorm at 10 pm.
Maxwell Chevalier Student Union
(Yes, this building was funded in part by Camilia’s father, fun fact.)
The newly built big two-floor student union is built to help student success. Here, you can find the main dining hall, with a variety of restaurants with international cuisines. You can also find a library with study spaces, a small movie theater, specific student services, an arcade, a Pokemon Center, a Pokemart, and some grocery stores.
Blaine M. Courtwell Recreational Center
The recreational center aims to improve student health with its facilities. It features a weightlifting and cardio gym, basketball courts, indoor tennis courts, a rock climbing facility, swimming pools, and even Pokemon battlefields.
More information, including a map, is coming soon to a theater near you!
Majors
All majors are, in one way or another, related specifically to Pokemon. You are only allowed to choose one elective. You may declare undecided and can change your major until one month after the first day of school. If you have a particular idea for a major, please let me know, and I’ll consider adding it.
Battling
- Focuses on Pokemon battles.
- This major covers battle strategy, type advantages, movesets, training, and anything else related to Pokemon battles. Students will battle often in class with one another alongside frequent strategy lectures.
- Training is rigorous and is generally needed even outside of classes in order to keep pace in the course.
- Students who take this major may also participate in competitions with other schools.
- Focuses on Pokemon contests/performances.
- This major covers the art of Pokemon contests and performances, the different aspects of coordinating/performing, strategies, choreography, and costume design. Students are generally expected to do one performance routine weekly, and the difficulty of the performance very slightly increases every week.
- Training is also rigorous and generally involves physical training for potential coordinators as well as Pokemon.
- Students who take this major can participate in competitions with other schools.
- Focuses on the biology of Pokemon.
- This major covers the study of Pokemon's anatomy, physiology, and behavior, as well as their genetic diversity. Students will often have hands-on experiences with Pokemon to study their behaviors.
- Focuses on gimmicks such as Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Dynamax/Gigantamax, and Terastalization.
- As mentioned earlier, this major covers the study of these gimmicks. Students will research their effects, characteristics, and anything related to them. They will also get hands-on experience with these gimmicks.
- Additionally, students will learn about how a Pokemon’s bond with a trainer can unleash its full potential.
- Focuses on the study of Pokemon fossils.
- This major covers the history and characteristics of fossils alongside the study of ancient Pokemon. Students will get hands-on experience with these fossils and will get the opportunity to revive a fossil to get ownership of an ancient Pokemon.
- Focuses on the study of medical care for Pokemon.
- This major covers the study of medical research, techniques, ingredients, etc., needed to care for, heal, and nurture Pokemon. It also studies how to keep Pokemon in the best, healthiest state possible.
- Focuses on Pokemon Breeding.
- This major focuses on Pokemon breeding, the methods of breeding, how to care for Baby Pokemon, how to care for an egg, how to breed the best traits for a Pokemon, and anything related in the field.
- You are allowed to declare undecided until a month after orientation day. All class periods normally associated with majors are “free” periods.
- Free periods are not necessarily free—instead, you must sign up to observe a certain major class every day.
Minors/Electives
You are required to choose two electives of your choice. Again, I’m open to potential suggestions. You may change your electives four different times, and you may not change them three months after the orientation.

Daily Class Schedule
There are eight class periods.
Two of your class periods are related to your major, two are your electives, and the rest are your core classes. They are assigned to every student in random order.
You have every class (a shorter version) on Monday, then your 1st-4th periods on Tuesday/Thursday, and your 5th-8th periods on Wednesday/Friday. Classes run from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. You will have a lunch break in the middle of the day. (Between 4th and 5th periods for Monday, 2nd and 3rd for Tuesday/Thursday, and 6th and 7th for Wednesday/Friday.)
For development and relationship sake, it is fine for your characters to have the same or nearly the same schedule as other characters.
Seranova Region
Seranova is a small region near the center of the Pokemon world. Because of its location, it serves as an important center for trade and research, and proof of that can be found right in Azurecoast Academy itself.
The region consists of two major cities and two towns and is generally quite urbanized. There are regional forms and even some Pokemon native to the region, but they are limited. (If possible, I may need creative help on this part.)
The region is mildly humid and hot. Generally, Seranova doesn’t experience much snow (except in the mountains) and rather experiences plenty of warm summers and heavy rain.
Map coming soon!
Roleplay Overview
Azurecoast Academy is based in the Pokemon world and is located in the fanmade Seranova region. It is a one-year program with an option for a second year aimed at providing its students with the necessary foundations to reach their goals. Led by various top teachers in their fields, it strives to give students the valuable education necessary to achieve their students’ goals.
This RP doesn’t necessarily follow a set path for development, and characters are free to interact, create drama, and create relationships. Various possibilities can happen during the RP. The RP will follow the path the roleplayers set but with some limitations.
We may do time skips when the RP starts to reach periods without major events but expect very little time skips at the beginning of RP as we begin to set things up. I’m willing to discuss when and how frequently we do these as we get into the swing of things.
Due to RPNation’s recent instability, I will create a Discord server. While I plan to mainly use it for OOC purposes, I will back up all of our RP responses in case of further shutdowns. This is a precautionary measure, and I apologize if you are planning to join the RP but cannot access Discord.
Roleplay Rules
- Please adhere to all RPN rules.
- I ask for a minimum of one paragraph per reply. One-liners are not allowed. I understand if “dialogue/interaction” posts need to be shorter, but please avoid making them very short.
- You must have access to Discord. If you express interest, I will send you a personal invite to the server through personal conversation.
- All OOC activity will occur in Discord. All IC activity and character sheet postings will occur on RPNation.
- All IC activity will be backed up and posted in Discord in case of shutdowns.
- I’m looking for a semi-active RP, so each roleplayer is expected to make an RP post at least once a week. I understand life happens, and if you know an expected delay in posts is coming, please let us know if possible.
- Avoid Mary/Gary Stus when making characters. If a character is somehow good at everything and has no flaws, they will ruin the interactions and flow of the RP entirely.
- Do not control my characters or anyone else’s. I may control “NPC” characters, including teachers and random students. However, I will control important administration members.
- All Pokemon battles are mostly anime-styled. This means you can dodge and counterattack, and the constraints of battling are not limited to the games. However, the power of the moves and their effects (if applicable) still apply to battles.
- Additionally, you are allowed to attack, but you cannot say the attack landed in the same post you attacked unless the RPer gives you previous consent.
- The opponent determines whether or not the attack lands.
- Don’t abuse this and dodge every attack possible without good reason, however.
- You still are limited to 4 moves per Pokemon.
- The level, PP, and ability system still apply in the RP.
- Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this.
- Mega Evolutions and Z-Moves will be allowed, but not at the start. Terastalization and Dynamax might happen, but with Seranova not having the resources/power necessary to support them, it’s unlikely.
