"喂,快点起床!"
The door to T'Kanjal's roomed opened up as Liu's fist left the surface, exiting dressed in one of his more formal suits. T'Kanjal was no stranger to diplomatic meetings, and thus a suit was needed in order to maintain formalities. Modeled after his father's own suit in mixing the tradition with the modern, the suit's two noticeable aspect of his entire outfit that he wore was the scarf draped over his left shoulder and the silver looking ceremonial necklace. In some aspect, both items had their own surprises, but still served to be an integral part in exhibiting T'Kanjal as a representative of Wakanda, a powerful and wealthy state that thus made him and what he said important to any countries looking to gain Wakanda's favor. None of this was lost on T'Kanjal, but today he wasen't visiting as merely a representative, rather today he represented somthing bigger then any one country.
"Well, someone's looking sharp."
"I could say the same thing about you...for once"
Liu himself dressed sharply in his own bodyguard-esc suit, a suit that appeared formal back actrually gave Liu much more freedom then most suits of it's type. It also did well to hide various important pieces that Liu may need later.
"Is that scarf the one that belongs to your father?"
"Mhm...with some light modifications that Aunt Shuri made."
"You really think we going to run into trouble?"
"We shall see...just be on your guard and keep an eye out...and if we have to, protect Miss Leader."
"Sounds easy enough."
"But it never is."
Liu grinned, pushing himself off the wall and followed as T'Kanjal made his way down the hall and towards the hanger. The past few days had been spent for T'Kanjal both conditioning with Liu and several phone calls back and forth between Wakanda and their embassy in Somalia. It was actually quite simple to set up the meeting, given who was asking to meet, it was all the other prep work that was a bit more tedious then Kanjal had expected. One of those things included the whole "debate" about what Miss America would where, as T'Kanjal found out when he walked in on the conversation. When asked about his opinion, he simply stated "formal...no jeans...no t-shirts" and that was all he had to say. Frankly, Lucy probably could've gotten away with wearing her armored suit, given who she was representing and who she was: An important American. Long as she wore somthing in the realms of professional formality, it didn't really matter too much what she wore; she'd stand out either way.
As both Liu and the Prince arrived at the hanger, it appeared that they were among the first to arrive at the assembly point. Liu took the time to focus himself, sitting with his legs crossed upon one of the cargon boxes, eyes closed, back stright, hand on his knees. T'Kanjal meanwhile was leaning against the stacked boxes next to his friend, checking his phone looking device.
It didn't take long for people to start triklaing in, Liu continued to focus himself as T'Kanjal looked up occasionally and gave a slight nod before returning his attention to his device. At some point T'Kanjal put away his device and began scanning over the group of so-called heroes, taking in their various appearances and actions without a word....
"Man...still can't believe we actually got the Prince of Wakanda here, on our team, doing missions with us." Chris, currently in full kit(wings retrackted and goggles up), gawked. Redwing looked on, perching upon another cargo box, eyes darting back and forth from all the new people. "Guess we're moving up in the world...things might really start getting interesting around here..."
Lucy began to speak, capturing most if not all the people's attention in the room.
Chris was listening attentively, appearing to be listening attentively...although if one were to look closely, they'd notice his eyes had a bit of a dreamy look when he was watching Lucy. Yet, when his name was mentioned, Chris turned about and gave the newcomers a friendly wave. Meanwhile, Liu had opened his eyes and was now tentatively listening to Lucy, while T'Kanjal looked on with mere indifference.
"Alright, you can count on us..." Chris spoke, as he raised a hand to give thumbs up, before tilting his head. "...but you guys still sure you don't need air support? I mean if you got this, you got this, but if you need the extra hand in the field, you know I'm always one down for it"

Connor frowned as the conversation took a small turn, it was clear Isiah blamed himself. "And I'm sure that wasn't your fault." Admittedly he didn't get the detailed report, only the summary of a debrief but he knew Isaiah wasn't to blame. "HYDRA was toying with things they shouldn't have been, and it went sideways. I'm not going to turn you down for following orders and doing your job." Reaching forwards Connor placed a hand on Isiah's shoulder, "I'd be honored to have you watching my back...on a more regular basis." The blonde nodded back towards the elevator with a smile, "What do you say we find you a room to get settled into. I can't make you an Avenger at the drop of a hat, but you'll have my support. There's just two others you've got to win over, and one is my sister." Connor chuckled lightly before pulling his hand back, "Good-luck with that."
----
Post Time-skip

Connor was standing nearby the other current Avengers who'd seemingly grouped together in instinct in a larger crowd, waiting patiently for everyone to arrive. Most had, a few were still trickling in, the amount of people that had been asked to gather here today was more than had been in a long while. Both experienced Avengers, those who helped out part-time, as well as new recruits. There was a small amount of pride to see things coming together for the team, but he also saw much work ahead of the three co-leaders of the Avengers. Connor's team arguably had the least amount of preparation over the last few days, despite arguably having the heaviest burden. Making sure Cassie and Rigel got in without alerting the Somalian's to their presence. He'd gone over what information they could gather of the dam, what actions to take should the plan go awry. No engaging unless absolutely necessary, non-lethal only, and get back to the Quinn-jet. The integrity of the dam was top priority, the last thing they needed was to cause the people of Somalia harm should something be damaged or destroyed.

"Star-struck are we Chris?" He joked with a small smirk when he'd brought up T'Kanjal being a part of the mission. Seeing Lucy step into the hangar he couldn't help but feel a little for her considering her attire. For all her knowledge and usefulness elsewhere he knew his sister well enough to know she'd much rather have her suit and be going with them to infiltrate. When she neared the gathering group Lucy started addressing everyone Connor paid attention and moved closer, it was clear she was taking point on this mission. Likely feeling responsible for it, for multiple reasons.

Isaiah was one of two initiates going on the mission. Some might assume favoritism but it was the simple fact that Connor knew what Isiah was capable of, and that he'd be an asset to have along for many reasons including experience. The other initiate Liu, was a clear choice since he'd known T'Kanjal for a long time and they were a pair that likely worked well together. When Finn spoke up on the Blueprints Connor nodded, "We've got them, hard to tell how accurate they are given the age but you can look it over on the ride there if you like."

N-Nani!?!

Cassie chuckled, running a hand through her own hair awkwardly. "No X-Men stuff is good. I'm actually working on a proj--" she was cut short by Jocasta interjecting.
Courtship?!?! Boyfriend?!?! Wh-what!?!? Cassie was sent positively reeling by the AI given form, and it took her a second for her to grasp what exactly was going on. "J-Jocasta! H-hi!" Cassie stammered, going almost as red as her Father's suits. She noticed Finn's blush as well, and that was certainly not helpful. "N-no, I... He's not my boyfriend!! At least not yet-- I mean! Uh..." she cleared her throat and attempted to regain composure, hoping that bit under her breath wasn't noticed. "F-Finn's going to be s-staying with us for a while, at least... uh.... heh..."
"Life at the tower huh? Next thing you know we'll be scouted for a mission."
Cassie sighed, thankful for the topic change. "Actually, that's what I'm working on right now. A... mission thing. It's an arc reactor powerful enough to help power a hydroelectric dam. Uh... I was actually just about to contact Rigel about it." She said running another hand through her hair.
~~
Post-Timeskip

Cassie stood nonchalantly to the side, leaning on the wall and looking at a small circular object clutched in her hand. She was wearing something Casual, with her hair down, and thanked God she didn't have to politically negotiate anything today.
The upgraded Arc reactor was onboard already, which was good. The mission would have happened a day earlier if Lucy hadn't Insisted That Cass get some rest after her 24-and-a-half-hour inventing spree. Honestly, she had gone longer without sleep, but Lucy didn't need to know that.
Cassie hadn't had a personal opinion about Lucy's current outfit, but she thought that whichever suit she chose, she would still look like a female powerhouse. If they were going to successfully navigate this, they would need all the powerhouse they could get. T'Kanjal would also prove useful, as both Lucy and he would appear together, making the statement that they were on a United front. Or.... that was the idea, anyway.
The Prince and his 'escort' arrived in the room, which made Cassie look up from her device. She pocketed it and smiled at the pair. "Well, T'Kanjal, Tien Liu," she said, careful to pronounce their names correctly (and also silently thanking Friday for helping her make sure she had them right), "you two clean up quite nicely. The silver is a nice touch," she added, noting the necklace the Wakandan was wearing. Her eyes moved back to Chris. "Hey, Chris, don't worry. We'll call if we need any backup, okay?"
She glanced at Finn and a light blush came over her cheeks before she looked away, looking for Rigel in the room. He was supposed to be here to help her.

PERRY PARKER
In the days following the trip Perry's life continued as per usual. He returned to his regular classes, he socialized with the same individuals, and for the most part his hero work had been put to the side. Though in the back of his mind he's thought extensively of the trip. There weren't many chances of which he was able to leave the country, and with friends nonetheless. Therefore in spite of the gravity of the situation, Perry found himself possessing a strange amount of excitement for the journey, almost as if he were arriving in a well-known theme park or something of the sorts.

Now standing in the hangar among his comrades, he glanced around the room. They each seemed rather prepared for the trip, and so was Perry. Eventually Lucy spoke up, discussing their plans and the duties assigned to each individual. He gave a simple nod to these instructions, adding, "Let's hope we all get through this smoothly."

LYDIA LEMIRE
“Are you sure you’ll be okay?” the redhead asked Lydia. In return she gave a simple nod.

"I'll manage, been through worse situations than this," she reassured. Thankfully, much like she'd inherited some natural talent with the bow, Lydia had also managed to develop a significant amount of pain tolerance. Given a few hours to recover, Lydia would presumably be able to work once more at full capacity—whether or not her body is fully healed or otherwise.

Though the situation around her only seemed to get more and more chaotic as time progressed. Not in the sense that Lydia and her new temporary partners were in a larger amount of danger, but rather in the sense that even more individuals stepped up to help with the ongoing issues. Namely, a certain large green man came bursting to the scene. Lydia watched as he began to pick up civilian after civilian, bringing each to safety. Eventually, it seemed as though he had single-handedly ensured a safe evacuation of the building. Lydia have a short huff in relief—one headache had finally been dealt with. Now all that remained was to catch the elephant man and his frail partner. Though...it felt as though so much time had past, and by the time she arrived in whatever location the others could be located in, the villain would've already been caught.

So Lydia stood there, as two individuals she had just met lifted an entire building, one of them with his bare hands. She felt...rather useless in this situation. Wanting to help in some way, there weren't options she could choose from. Helping lift the building would scarcely change anything, and running after the elephant man seemed to only be a waste of time for her at this point.

"You can help those stragglers get out. Whip em into shape. I can't hold this forever. I think witch girl and I got this side of things," the green man said towards another newcomer—one Lydia couldn't see. Though, while the comment wasn't directed at her, she still followed his orders.

Making her way from shocked civilian to shocked civilian, Lydia attempted to bring them from their dazed state and towards the portal. She managed to force a few out, while the other newcomer seemed to do the same.

"Hey! I think that's everyone we can head out now!" Lydia shouted towards the heroes remaining in the building.

Lydia, during this time didn't precisely wait for the rest and she herself stumbled her way through the portal. Looking back towards the direction of the bank, she heard a loud boom! and all she could see was smoke and fire. "Oh no..." she whispered to herself, unsure of the fate of those left inside.

Robin nodded, giving a soft "On it!" And jumping off of Boston's shoulder, growing full-size in midair and running towards a couple of people cowered in a corner. "Hey! Come on, let's go!" She offered them her hands and they took them, which gave her full nonverbal permission to yank them as fast as she could out of the building. She made sure they were safely in the clear before going back inside the collapsing bank and searching for others, glancing up at the wall of teal and watching it begin to break. Witch-Girl's spell wasn't going to be holding for much longer.
A large chunk of rubble loosed itself from the ceiling and came crashing down over her head, and she let out a small "Ah!" before the rubble concealed her from view. A moment later, she crawled out of a gap in the wreckage, tiny again, holding her sides in pain. "Holy shit... that hurt like hell!" She said.
"Hey! We gotta go! Short stuff, where are you? We gotta go!"
She heard Boston's roaring voice above the crashing of the concrete and looked up, jumping from her spot on the debris to Boston's left shoulder. "I'm here, big green! I'm good! Go! Ow...."

The girls bright blue eyes seem to almost glow as she looks to the boy as he steps away, head-turning before the rest of her body. This most certainly was another interesting one, the name Finn Wagner shooting through her mind before pulling up a background search on the individual giving a wide grin and clapping her hands slightly "Oh yes introductions, Jocasta, Just Jocasta and given your entrance I can see you would be extremely useful for such Finnius" her attention soon turned back to Cassandra nodding with a faint look of amusement at her reaction "Well he certainly seems to be promoting a positive reaction in you, I will ensure there is a room allocated" a flash of her eyes "And done, it's being prepared as we converse I do look forward to seeing you work on such, it does brighten up the laboratory......given the output of such devices" a grin as if trying to tell a joke though perhaps missing the mark.

Post-Timeskip:
Jocasta exits from the ramp of the Quinjet after making the final checks on the craft and readying it for flight, an illuminated screen projected in front of her showing the various systems and energy levels of the craft. Giving a nod towards Lucy as she goes over the intended plan she smiles towards the future applicants taking a few steps in front of them dressed within a black synthetic training suit of sorts.

"Hello everyone, I am Jocasta, you may also designate me as J, Jo, Casta, Miss J...." continuing to list off various names for a minute or so before giving a wide wave "As Lucy here said myself and Christopher will be running a rigorous series of simulations and exercises to ensure you fit the correct criteria to safely operate and integrate into the team, Knowing the baseline we can establish the type of scenarios and operations that best suit your individual skills. I have taken the liberty to prepare full induction packs for each of you, also please ensure your name tags are in place for those who are unfamiliar with each other. Im sure we will each get to know each over very well by the time this is all over" Starting to hand out several packets of forms and printed handouts with considerable weight "We will first need to complete various forms for insurance purposes in the event of any unforeseen injuries or damages and on completion you will be provided both room assignments and gift basket for your efforts....Now before we get started...do you have any questions?" The entire speech delivered with practised ease, a clear excitement in her tone as she thinks over the new upgrades that had been installed within the room and routines to try out on new individuals, the results will certainly be well worth the efforts.

Natalie Strange

Natalie's captured attention was shattered by Boston's calling; a tirade of heart-lifting praise which - despite the situation at hand - made her beam happily, the smile accompanying a third wind of energy to keep her attention focused on sustaining the spell. But her spellpower reserves were gone, despite the overwhelming desire to keep going - she had nothing left to give - and chip-by-chip the enchanted barrier holding the roof in place began to crumble into mystical splinters causing her to double over and heave violently, every muscle in her body set aflame as her head was invaded by the most violent ache she'd ever possessed. The nauseating experience left her dizzy and unsteady, her sight hazy and spotted. She didn't see the extent of the spells failure as a small barrage of entangled concrete barreled towards her like a flaming meteor. She was too slow to notice, the sight of her impending doom flashing in her mind and terrified eyes before the sight of death was replaced by the explosive appearance of Boston's glimmering green figure, his own form tainted with dust, debris and now blood. An iron bar impaled into his shoulder on her behalf, his injury - but her life.

As the bank collapsed around them, she threw up a weak protective field. Her magical talent was drained. "Holy shit," She breathed in disarray, the adrenaline coursing through her veins felt like raw liquid fire. "That was... way too close, thank you - I owe you my life!" Natalie thanked earnestly, she waited momentarily - using the sling ring to open the portal within the small barrier - should the bank completely give way, it wouldn't last, but for now it was shielding them from the barrage of debris. But they didn't have long. Fortunately, they didn't need it. Boston's very small companion who'd aided in the evacuation appeared on his shoulder, an audible sigh of relief leaving Natalie's system. "Let's go!" She yelled to the two, despite being right next to them.

Stepping through the portal, the materialized shield collapsed, and she emerged in the alley, surrounded by the shocked crowd of civilians they'd saved. The bank, visible a few blocks in the distance, now collapsing like a failed jenga tower. But Nat's visage was fixed solely on the people gathered around them, families, children, babies, innocent people. Her, Boston and Robin - they'd saved them all - every person accounted for, an overwhelming sense of happiness flooded Natalie's system and she felt tears tugging at her eyes. She turned towards Robin an Boston - Ant-Girl and Hulk - and without hesitation threw her arms around both, pulling them into a gratuitous hug. "We did it!" She nearly cried, "We saved everyone - do you have any idea how amazing you two are?!" The crowd around them was now active, the people clapping and cheering, many just as emotional - if not more so - than Natalie was, people from all sides were hailing them as heroes, it felt good.

She paused hesitantly, scanning the faces for a familiar sight. "Hey - where's Hawkeye?" She quizzed, having been too wrapped up to notice the other girl's movements within the Bank. She recalled her aiding in evacuation like Ant-Girl, but she couldn't make out the woman currently - that is, until she saw her being swamped further down the alley by likemindedly grateful citizens. "Be right back." She stated happily to Boston and Robin, practically jogging down the alley towards the girl who'd formerly brandished an arrow at her less than half an hour ago."LYDIA!" She barked getting near, pulling the other girl into a hug. "You did brilliantly," She complimented mid-squeeze, "These people wouldn't be alive without your help."

Syrenne Grey
Location: Streets of New York
Pre-timeskip

Syrenne had seen a lot in her time living among fellow mutants, from a man walking through walls, her Aunt Storm harassing the power of lightning to charge her own phone, to her possessed mother kidnapping her and shortly later being impaled by her father’s metal claws. Heck, Syrenne had even seen Jean make dinner without using her hands a few times. From amusing to bizarre to just plain screwed up, she had long thought herself prepared for anything another mutant did…until now. Having thrown the car in the elephant’s direction, the last thing she expected was the large, heavy weight beast to dodge a 2-ton car. Somehow, he had managed it with surprising ease and caused the car to implant it in an apartment building. Flabbergasted, Syrenne’s mouth opened, closed, opened, then closed again. That was something you didn’t see everyday.

Once she had regained her composure she scratched the back of her head, seeing the agitation in Ollie’s eyes. “Whoops…” She muttered. The other mutant gave a roar, not liking the sound of a vehicle hitting a building one bit. Ignoring the unease she had in her gut of the man with her father’s metal claws standing next to her, she then added, “I guess we should try another tactic, hmm?” At least one that doesn’t involve causing extensive property damage. She started to follow the wolfman, stopping for a moment as she saw a…monster? Alien? Alien monster come out of nowhere and issue instructions before he too went for the elephant man and its rider, propelling himself in the air in their direction as axes formed on his arms.

Syrenne groaned. Too many people at once on the scene. She’d definitely be glad when this was all over and she could take a nap. In the meantime, she needed to help deal with these clowns. But how? If Alien Dude was going for the rider and Ollie for the underside of the behemoth…then they needed to be stopped in their tracks. Eyeing a street sign, she raised her hand, straining to use her telekinesis to pull it from the cement and making the end of it sharpen to a point. That done she flew to the side of the elephant man, keeping a careful distance away as she aimed and then threw the impromptu spear at his eye while at the same time pulling an unoccupied pasty delivery truck in front of his running path. She hoped that would slow him down enough for the others to do some damage.

The frail man looks around again to see if anyone is behind them. He sees Ollie running on all fors from behind them and keeping up. "Mein oh mein ..." he tells himself impressed. He looks up and sees Slaughter jump off the side of a building wall and is about to plunge attack them as well as a truck coming being thrown their way. "Roll, turn, und schtop!" The frail man jumps off of the elephant man and on to the side of a build to avoid the attack. The elephant man rolls forward but not without getting clipped on the back by Slaughter's plunge attack as well as the sign scratching his back.

The elephant man huffs as he tries looking behind him to no avail. "Zomeone vants our hattenzion it zeems..." Ever since Connor had made Isaiah's invitation "official", things had been a whirlwind of activity in the Tower. In truth, that whirlwind had already been in progress by the time he arrived and now Coulson was in the midst of it. He'd hardly had a chance to settle into his accommodations in the last few days before being swept up with the mission he'd unwittingly stumbled into the planning phase of. Isaiah didn't mind in the least; he wanted to be back in the mix, doing something that mattered -- not sitting in his room, staring at the walls and wondering what the hell he was doing here in the company of real heroes.

Now Isaiah stood in the hangar alongside the others. Almost all of them were strangers to him until very recently. As it turned out, more than a few of them were new to the Avengers as well. Coulson didn't go out of his way to get to know any of them after assembling in the hangar, his mind far too occupied with the upcoming mission. As if on cue, he looked up to see Lucy entering the hangar to begin their briefing. The assertive young woman in the pantsuit had little in common with the girl he remembered as Connor's twin sister. She may not have taken up the mantle of Captain America, but her new role seemed to suit her very well all the same. Like her brother, Lucy was a natural.

Izzy listened as the plan was laid out. He found himself standing at attention out of habit, forcing himself to relax ever so slightly. Seeing Connor and Finn gathered to one side, he followed them over, black boots pounding lightly against the metal flooring of the hangar with each step. Coulson was dressed in loose-fitting dark blue cargo pants and a hooded jacket, with a black tactical vest over top of the latter. He gave a nod to each man, hearing the tail end of their discussion. He pursed his lips in thought before speaking up, "I'd offer to help phase the team in, but that's not exactly... subtle with a group this large. Finn will be our best bet where that's concerned. If we end up needing some recon done when we get there, though..." he shrugged before glancing at Connor with a small smile. "A little different than the ops we used to run."

LYDIA LEMIRE
Uselessness—it was all Lydia felt in this situation. She set out to work among those with extraordinary abilities, and she was outclassed in nearly every way. Among a crowd of normal individuals, Lydia found it easy to stand out—to thrive in the climate. Yet in a city such as this, she felt as if she were placed at the bottom of the totem pole. As useful as any other random person roaming the streets.

Lydia tried to disallow the thought from deterring her, to move on and try another day. With a heavy sigh, she walked her way to both her dufflebag and backpack, things that were thankfully kept in the same location as they had been previously. Gently placing her bow and quiver into the bag, she zipped it up and lifted it with one arm, slinging her backpack on her opposite shoulder. Lydia then began to look from side to side onto the streets of NYC. There was still minor panic from the obviously crumbling building only a block away, yet life seemed to slowly adjust itself back to normal, with most individuals continuing on with their day. Perhaps Lydia should continue her day too; commute to her apartment, tend to her wounds, and finish the day with some studying seemed to be a wonderful idea. Though as she was beginning to walk towards the street, she heard a familiar voice.

"Lydia!" the voice barked, and in an instant Lydia was brought into an embrace. It was Natalie, the sorceress she had met only a short while before. "You did brilliantly. These people wouldn't be alive without your help."

"Thanks," Lydia replied with a rather raspy voice. While she appreciated the hug, small tinges of pain began to stab into her sides due to the tight squeeze. Her face scrunched up to reflect this, her body slightly tensing up. "Not...so tight though alright? Still recovering here."

After those words however, Lydia gave her a light hug as well, though it amounted mostly to her awkwardly wrapping her arms around the woman—she wasn't much of a person to give hugs, even to friends. In spite of the physical pain the hug had caused, to compensate she felt as though some anguish had been relieved from her, a trade she would accept any day. Her lips curled into a tiny yet noticeable smile, her heart filling with happiness towards the sorceress' compliment.

"Glad...I could help though," she whispered.

Eventually the hug ended and Lydia stood there, her mood now restored. "Is the hulk-like person and whoever he was calling to safe? Where are they?" she asked the Natalie, her gaze scanning the area in front of her, attempting to find them out.

We Did It!

Robin hopped off of Boston's shoulder and returned to full size, doubling over and trying to breathe. She must have inhaled too much smoke while small. She pressed the side of her mask, uncovering her mouth and face, and she felt a rush of cool air hit her skin as she gasped for breath. She was impacted heavily by Nat's hug, something that surprised her greatly, but it made her smile nonetheless, and she returned it.
"We saved everyone - do you have any idea how amazing you two are?!"
Robin blushed a little --she had only saved two people-- but she smiled. "If you two hadn't held up the bank so long, I don't think the outcome would have been quite the same." She watched as Nat went to go find the other woman who had helped out before Robin had arrived, and Robin looked up at her big green companion. "Good job, Jolly Green Gia--" she stopped mid-sentence when she saw the iron in Boston's shoulder. "Holy shit... uh.... oh god...." She felt herself get dizzy at the sight of the big hunks of metal jutting out of Boston's skin, and she sat down. Blood didn't faze her at all, but that was a big metal spike impaled in her friend. They were certainly not the same thing. "Jeezus, man, you alright?" She said, looking up at him as best she could. "Anything I can do? I mean--" she swallowed. "I can probably go giant-size and pull it out--" she looked at the ground. "After the world decides to stop spinning......"

CASSANDRA
Somewhere deep in space, a lone ship drifted through the cosmos. It was rather small, just about the size of an average one room apartment, though it was also plenty of space for its sole inhabitant. Cassandra sat near the middle of the ship where a table and a few chairs laid there. She was rested on one of these chairs, her feet were kicked up on top of the table. One arm held a simple cup of coffee, the other arm held a communications device—her only way of having some sort of meaningful human-to-human interactions. Pressing button after button, she listened to voicemails after voicemails. Some archived from the past, others being more recent. Cassandra usually spent around half an hour on this in the morning, a suitable replacement for simple human interaction. Currently she was near the end of this half an hour, and she now was listening to a voicemail sent only a few hours prior. With a click, the voicemail's sound filled the room once more.

"Hey Cassandra, this is dad. Hope you're safe, hope everything's going fine too. Just sending this to let you know I'm doing fine where I am too, think I'm finally gettin' used to life here again. Anyways, Peter and Gamora were wondering when you'd come visit Earth again. S'been a while since you saw them. If you're busy that's fine, just lemme know. Thanks."

With another click the voicemail ended. Cassandra stared at the device, considering if she should pay a visit. Not much else to do...might as well, she thought with a sigh, shifting her gaze to the control panel of the ship. It's indeed been a long time since her last visit, roughly seven months she hasn't returned "home"—a visit's long overdue.

Considering this, she swung her feet back onto the floor, setting her coffee onto the table while still keeping her device on hand. Cassandra then began to make her way towards the controls to the ship, sitting herself down on one of the nearby seats. Strapping herself in, she punched in the coordinates for the Quill family household, though before she confirmed the location, Cassandra sent her own message.

"Hi dad, this is Cassandra! I'll be coming there soon, stopping by the Quills before I come though. See you soon, love you bye!"

With the message sent, Cassandra confirmed the entered coordinates and in a matter of seconds, she went flying towards Earth.

~~

Eventually Cassandra came landing down onto Earth's surface, her spacecraft landing on the Quills' backyard. She herself began to set foot onto the soft, dirt surface. Immediately she began to make her way towards a screen door, the entrance from the backyard into the house. Briefly taking a quick peek inside, Cassandra didn't see anyone. However, she still knocked on the door, they were likely on the second floor anyways.

"It's Cassandra!" she called.

Boston, having thought that he had pulled out the whole piece, only now - as the stress and the adrenaline started to fade, realised that yes, some of the latticework still sat embedded within his shoulder. Gingerly he reached around towards his back, touching the skin, feeling the thick dark green, almost black blood coat his fingers. Seeing the witch girl leaving to talk with the girl with the bow, he turned towards Robin. "Hey, it's okay. Really. Just, uh - give me a moment." Gritting his teeth together, hard, he reached up - grabbing the harsh metal, twisted and heated still. Placing one hand against the alley wall, he took two deep breaths, lowering his head and closing his eyes. One. Two. Two and a quarter. Two and a half. Two and thre- Suddenly he ripped it out, feeling the barbs from the twisted metal tear out of his flesh. The metal fell to the ground with a loud 'thunk' - coated in blood and ash. From deep in his throat came a loud, deep... for lack of a better word- yelp. Still keeping his eyes shut tightly, he breathed in deeply through his nose, his body tensing and relaxing every few moments. "There... the- ah" He took another breath, looking over at Robin from where he stood leaning against the wall, his one eye still shut and a grimace on his face. "There we are. Hey? Now just to-"

His legs suddenly gave out as he fell to the ground, the large form crumpling into a heap against the wall. Laying on his side so that the wounds not press aginst the stone, he looked up at her. "Sheesh... how much blood did I lose?" He looked up, turning his face towards where he had been standing, seeing a pool of dark blood that has been gushing from his back. "AH... that's quite a bit." Feeling a bit hazy and feeling himself start to turn back to normal, he shook his head. "Shit.. I can't turn back like this. I need someone to bind this for me?" As he spoke, one of the people they had saved, who seemed to have noticed him falling over, rushed over with a bag. "Hey, they say you are the one who carried us out?" She smiled at him, raising her bag. He just nodded at her weakly, his smile still on his face. "You saved us, let me at least try and see what I can do for you. I am going to need some bandages." She looked up, and a group of people - many of whom had been knocked out a few moments ago and would have died in the fire, stood forward. Some of the men took off their shirts and gave it to her, as she started to tear them into neat strips - dousing them in some alcohol she got from her medical bag. "Hey, you helped right?" She looked at Robin. "Care to help me bind this?" Before Robin could react, she looked at one of the younger people standing around, watching the Hulk bleed out on the ground, trying to stay awake.

"You, please go tell the other two. We will need their help. Can someone call an ambulance?!" She called loudly, before she started binding his shoulder, pressing the wounds closed. Boston just lay there, dazed -looking up at Robin. "Hey... I was gonna take Rigel some flowers later. Would you mind taking him some for me? I don't know if I can. Some really pretty ones. He needs some pretty flowers. His lab is so cold and boring you know." Not really even aware of what he was saying, he closed his eyes - his form starting to shrink. This only had the wounds increase in severity, the bleeding increasing rapidly. "Guess.. that really was... a... stupid... move... hey?" His murmurs faded even more, as he lay there, now unconscious, no longer the massive powerhouse of green muscle, but just an average boy with lightly tanned skin and short black hair, covered in blood.

Max stepped through the dimensional rift from Hell into his loft penthouse apartment in New York's east side. He turned back to wave his mother a farewell as the Caretaker closed the rift, cutting him off on earth once again. He hadn't been gone long, only a week, in earth's time, back to regain his strength and visit. It has been nice, to see here again but he knew very well it would be a long time before he would return for any length beyond just restoring his strength. He had a mission, you see, to finish his grandfather's work and to do so would take all of his attention. The company ran itself - he wasn't entirely certain what it was they did. He only appeared there to seem just like any other human. No one, but the trusted within the brotherhood knew that Max was also Magneto.

"Master!"

Max turned to see the malformed figure of Toad half loping half walking into the living quarters of his home. He knew that mutants were the future of the earth, the next in evolution, but some times evolution even made mistakes; in his new world, those mistakes would be left behind like those that didn't follow -

"You've returned!"

He sneered but nodded. "Of course I have returned, Toad."

"What excellent timing, Master! We have a lead!"

All loathing of the other mutant faded as his curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"

"Crossbones, Master. He's here, in New York. Rumours are he's got H.Y.D.R.A's research - looking to sell."

Max pondered it a moment before nodding, "We'll certainly reach out to see if what he has is of interest to us. Go, call on Harris; we'll need some back up." He watched as Toad scrambled from the room and his sight to contact Juggernaut. He turned and raised a hand, the doors to his concealed wardrobe bursting open and from within it his re-envisioned suit flowed out to him. Woven with metallic threads not only gave the armour more protection to his person - should someone manage to penetrate his personal force-field - but gave him the ability to guise his 'human' self from the world and shield his alter-ego from repercussions.

***

"Yes, yes, Harris. He's back. He needs to us find Crossbones." Toad half whispered into his phone, pacing in the hall outside of Max's bedroom. "At Josie's bar, Hell's Kitchen. Mhmm. He's there, Master is coming with us. Meet us there."

Ollie stopped in place, brandishing his claws and growling at the two in front of him. Looking at the creature that just called him wolfman he growls, but stops himself from jumping on his enemies just away. The adrenaline was starting to even out, and his mind was much clearer now. Looking at the elephant man and the skinny man talking, his eyes went from one to the other, trying to understand what they were saying over the very strong accent.

Seeing the man jump and scuttle up the wall, he looks at the symbiote. He didn't seem like an ally, but seeing as he attacked his enemy, it was good enough. Nodding in his direction, he turned to the wall and, using his claws, started to climb the wall. His first jump let out a loud crunch sound as the claws dug through the wall. Letting out a grunt, he looked at Syrenne, he tilted his head up. "...Follow me..." Ollie let out, before continuing his climb.

His sense of smell picked up the trail left by the skinny man and he felt a range of emotions coming off him. This was what he was trained for, and it had been ingrained in his mind.

Harris Daniels
Hell's Kitchen - Josie's Bar

"Okay," Harris whispered to himself, looking up at the sky with twinkling determination, "You got this, come on.." He hefted the double-decker bus slowly over his head, groaning in anguish as he felt his over-sized muscles bulging under the strain, the lactic acid already assaulting his overstimulated cardiovascular systems. As if battling the tides of nature, his body trembled in struggle as he began to force his arms up - and then down - his face contorted as each repetition made him grumble in pain. "Three..." He gasped out, his head swimming. "Four..." The struggle was getting worse, his feet unsteady as he almost stumbled forward. "Five!" With a last grunt he forced all his muscled up, his legs propelling his bodyweight forward as he heaved the bus into the air. Harris doubled over, hands on his knees as sweat poured down his forehead, the youth lopsidedly stumbled over. Passing a large line in the ground where a sword had been dragged through. "Whew... okay." Studiously comparing the former line with the bus's toppled location, he hefted his "Power Blade" from his back and began pulling the immense slab of steel through the ground with a bone-chilling grinding sound. 7 feet further than last time, not bad!

Harris' home wasn't so much a home, as it was an enormous abandoned construction site, the entire place a glorified wreck as a result of his training. His lack of sustenance meant he rarely had to journey anywhere else for food or water, he didn't even need to sleep - though he often did it anyway. Truly it was a wonder more people didn't pursue him - but he assumed the Brotherhood was hiding him somehow - speaking of, the telltale sound of his tiny phone vibrated from a nearby makeshift bench constructed out of a toppled tree. He squinted one eye, leveling his pinky-finger to the answer side of the screen and dragging it a minuscule amount. Being giant did have its pitfalls - answering phones was one of them.

"Hey frog demon," Harris greeted, "Is Maximum Uptight back from his summer vacation?" However Harris' witty comments were bypassed in-favour of business, his attention captured by the weird-toad-thing's words. "HYDRA? Here? Where?!" Harris asked, Max's assistant informing him of the delinquent Crossbones hiding out in Hell's Kitchen - Josie's bar, the Brotherhood of Mutants was always interested in seizing HYDRA Operatives for their intel, as far as the chain of command went, Crossbones was pretty high up there. "I'll be there." Harris replied, pocketing the phone, not bothering to try to disengage the call for fear of squashing the small device.

____________________________________________________________________

"I can see why they call it 'Hell's Kitchen', a burnin' hellscape of death and destruction. You must feel right at home!" Harris stated lightheartedly, approaching Magneto and his pet from behind, slinging one enormous muscled arm over Max's frame. "So, he in there now?" Harris quizzed, signalling to the shady bar at the end of the street, barricaded off by a small army of what was clearly HYDRA grunts masquerading as law enforcement. "Want me to smash in there - grab the research - and smash back out?" Harris asked with an almost frenzied smirk, his fists already clenching in excitement at the thought of breaking something.

K.D. had been very aware that she had arrived both at the tower, and at the meeting point with the ... woman... known as Jocasta a fair amount of time ahead of most applicants. Generally she would use that alone as her stepping off point; "This is what I can expect from them, this is how they arrive to situations. No leeway for things to go wrong, or potentially late." Usually. This was different though. While certainly important, running training simulations as opposed to actually responding to a call couldn't really be quantified until it happened. And by the stars is some one failed in field that was going to be a problem. She just needed to make sure it wasn't her.

While she waited for the others to arrive, she'd slipped her headphones into her ears and settled comfortably in a middleground. Not so far into the darker corner that she looked like a creep, but also not prim and proper or front and centre, begging for attention. It'd definitely been advice from Kaiden that had gotten her accustomed to carrying her 'casual, punk nonchalant' air, and while she was always going to bean A+ girl, she enjoyed the freedom from expectations.

After close to an hour of just, rocking out, the other's appeared to walk in, but K.D. refrained from paying them any special attention. It wasn't even to 'be punk', as much as she knew the minute she started giving them a good look, her calculating mind would start trying to deconstruct them and formulate 'who they were, and what they could do'. Or, in essence, exactly what she hated people being critical with her about back when she was proper. Once they'd all gathered, Jocasta gave them a quick introduction before passing out both nametags and packets of paper. Pulling a face at seeing her full name on the nametag stick, K.D. made a point to tear the 'K' and the lower case 'd' out of 'Murdoch', stick those to her vest before wadding the rest of the nametag up and shoving it in her back poket. Then she sat down, leaned back and kicked her legs up as she quickly thumbed through the packet handed to her. It took her almost a minute, but in the end she pulled free four pieces of paper, signed them in the appropriate places, and pulled out a stack of papers almost double the size of the one handed to her. Slipping those papers onto the top of the stack, she grinned a cocky grin and stood up to all four feet and nine inches of her height.

"Yo, so, yeah. Two questions 'Casta. You want your paperwork back?" she stated, gesturing to the packet she'd taken the four papers from in her right hand before proffering the one in her left, "And do you want your full and completed paperwork now, or after I get settled in?"

As far as K.D. was concerned, she was proud of what she'd just accomplished. Five minutes in, paperwork pre-done, seeming amount of shits given was zero, so at least she didn't outright appear to be 'perfect', though perhaps a tad impatient. That would be something to keep an eye on, as she didn't want to come across as too petulant or anything like that. It was a thin line between ready and relaxed, and petulant and impatient. Still, the only thing that would likely make anyone view her as soft were her ballet slippers, and even then they matched the rest of her ensemble so....

'Oh yeah!'

"Oh, yeah, one more question ma-eeuuugghgh," K.D. suddenly yawned. It helped that right as she was about to give a fake yawn to cut off 'maam', a real yawn came out. Shaking her head a moment as she finished yawning, she continued, "Anyway, 'Casta, you guys have a full ballet suite in your gymnasium, or would you prefer I make a few purchases of my own?"

In Hell’s Kitchen, Hera sat on a stained mattress shoved against a wall in an abandoned apartment right across the street from where her target was. She was listening to music, and it drifted in the still air around her as she strapped a gun holster around her waist. Normally, for her missions, she would be decked out in all black, an array of blades strapped to her body, but for this mission, she had only a single pistol, a knife hidden in her sock, and was dressed in a rather short skirt and a t-shirt which read JOSIE’S BAR in big neon letters. It was the uniform of a waitress at the shady bar. She wanted to make a statement with this killing, that she could kill one of Hydra’s BEST while he was surrounded by his own agents, in broad daylight. Besides, this one was more... personal. She had scars all over her body from what he’d done to her, and she couldn’t help but ruminate on those memories as she crossed the street in her outfit, plastering a fake smile on her face and keeping her head down as she passed by the small hoarde of cops. She’d put on a long blonde wig- fairly different from her usual black bob- and she hoped it was enough to throw anyone off. She blended in easily with the crowd, and the staff apparently just assumed she worked there without checking, because she was able to sneak behind the bar counter to polish glasses. When she saw him, her heart froze completely. It was like looking at a monster dressed in human skin. She knew what he was capable of. Wait until the moment is right, she tells herself. Then, you’ll put a bullet in his brain and it will all be over.

Jocasta tilts her head slightly as Ophelia speaks, a faint nodding as the black synthetic hair bobs with it, the android woman towering over the shorter girl by a good foot and a half with still giving a gentle smile down to them as they extend the hand to take the papers, she doesn't even seem to read them merely flicking quickly from one to the other with a faint flash to her eye. "You can hand over the rest when completed, but these are fine for now" pausing for a moment at the mention of a Ballett suite "The Gymnasium does include a full ballet suite that has remained from Miss Romanov's time on the team so not purchases will be necessary, though if you do require additional modifications you can submit a request for such and I believe it should be a simple process of having it installed with no need for your own finances to be used".

Gently putting the forms into a binder off to her side she gives another moment of pause before looking back to her up and down a mild look of confusion as her eyes seem to glow once more, studying the small girl as if to figure out the inconsistencies in the reactions, actions and forward appearance, several inconsistencies getting her attention. "Also there is no need for mama's unless you wish for me to attempt to act as such" another pause as she contemplates it "Then again given my current role operating as a parental figure is not out of the question, In which case any of the family type designations would also be fine...Is there anything else i can provide however to make your stay here more comfortable? as we are still awaiting several more arrivals potentially and other preparations, perhaps an energy supplement for your fatigue?."

Cuska Vara Quill
mentions: Pyosimros Pyosimros | location: home | purpose: meetup with cass

Cuska laid in his bed staring at the star painted ceiling of his bedroom; a full rework of the Milky Way Galaxy in detail with even the Greek lettering of each planet embellished his mind. His window was open, letting in the dusty breeze of New York filter in. It was about midday; the sun was at it’s highest peak, the birds chattered i the nearby trees and not far from his home can youhear the ocean waves of Long Island. His walkman that his father had handed down to him blared in his ears of old 90’s music, and his dad even decided to get him some new ones from a store that still somehow sells these. Cuska loved the suburbs compared to the city, but to be frank, he was never really allowed to venture out to the city much anymore. His parents, Peter and Gamora, sheltered him a from the ideas of approaching that dreadful city, to the point where his scholarship had to remain outside of New York, NY.

It wasn’t half bad though, considering that Vara did get to learn about his history a bit. When the boy was just five years old, he met another blond-haired that almost looked like another version of him. He always loved things about space, and when he found another semi-alien like him he was estatic. The two easily became accommodated with each other, and couldn’t stop asking for each other’s name after dinner. It was only revealed after 2 years of play dates, and trips from space and back that Cuska realised at the age of 7, Cassandra was really a girl. No matter how many times he heard her name or her pronouns, he continued to think she was a boy mainly because her hair was drastically short. To this day it has remained an inside joke between each of the Guardians and the family. He smiles looking back at all the times him and his true childhood friend had, considering some of his abilities started to show through in middle and high-school, making him stand out more than his piercing green eyes and blond hair.

Nonetheless his thoughts were broken out when he heard a faint sound ring out from near the front porch. Taking off his headphones, he waited for the noise to repeat itself in case he misheard, and to his luck, a heavily nostalgic voice rang out. Smiling immediately, the boy swung himself to the side of his bed and leaped forward towards the window. He peeked outside and yelled back, “It’s Cuska!” and waved down at Cass. He grabbed his hoodie to pull over his head and raced out his room into the hallway. “MA! DAD! CASS IS BACK!” Cuska didn’t really care if they were up or not yet, but he practically jumped down half a flight of stairs and wobbled on his landing, then proceeded to the door.

Before Cass could even say hi, he flung himself into her arms with the biggest grin on his face.

Seeing the elephant mutant and his rider dodge yet another of her attacks, Syrenne was pissed. “Oh you have got to be kidding me.” The red head hissed, clenching her fists. This was turning out to be a scene of Tom and Jerry. “Listen you overgrown cockroach, I am going to squash you like the bug you are, got it? So hold still!” She had barely begun to pull a light post out of the cement when, out of the corner of her eye, she saw the surprisingly nimble rider scale a nearby building and disappear over the top. At her side Ollie was beginning to follow him, his metal claws making a shinking sound as they dug inside of the building.

“…Follow me…” He grunted before continuing upwards. Syrenne felt her blood calm slightly in response, allowing her to see that he was probably right. Neither one of these clowns could escape. Guess the symbiote would have to deal with it, as much as she hated to admit it.

“Fine.” She huffed. Glancing in the symbiote’s direction she then added, “Do a number on him, yeah?” Without looking back to see if the alien like superhuman responded she flew to the top of the building, and seeing the frail man continuing to run, began to start pulling him backwards with her powers, wrapping him up in an invisible cocoon of telekinesis.

“Hurry…” She panted, turning her head slightly in Ollie’s direction. “Can’t…hold him for…very long…”

The day had not gone entirely to Octavia's liking by any means. She had spent the majority of the morning trying to get from point A to B without much luck. After the hardships of travel Octavia had arrived just in time to not be considered... late. Making her way to the Hangar she stepped inside and was greeted with more people than she had expected. Stepping forward Octavia took her name tag and paperwork. Having arrived later than a mass majority she felt an overbearing feeling of disappointment, the thought echoing her own feelings about her late arrival. Looking at the name tag she fixed it onto herself before adjusting her instruments strap. Placing the bulky stack of paperwork down she took a seat on the ground rather than struggle with it any other way.

Filling it out rather carefully she got to the point of emergency contacts. Face lighting up red she didn't really know what all to put down. She didn't have a family and definitely not anyone she overly trusted with her life. Taking a deep breath she ended up just leaving it blank. Finishing it up she ended up having to leave a number of things blank, sadly not having experienced many of those things. Moving and handing back the papers to Jocasta, Octavia took a moment to look at her. Shaking her head she couldn't think of any questions. However, after a moment she raised her hand. Beginning to feel awkward at having to raise her hand she couldn't think of any other way to get Jocasta's attention. After a moment Octavia began to sign out "What about communication? Will be hard for me."

Blushing, the almost robotic answer initially made her feel isolated, the follow up answer didn't really help the feeling much either. Though, the vast options that Jocasta could interpret gave her some uplifting, especially the bit on interpretive dance. She couldn't help but smirk at the last option. Signing out "Sorry, It is abit personal. We can talk about it if need be.".
