It's been one hundred years since the world has seen the last Avatar, a firebender who disappeared right before the Fire Nation began their war with the rest of the world. The next Avatar was an airbender, however all of their kind have been dead for the better part of the century. The Fire Nation has extended its reach in the past hundred years, systematically seeking and killing the Avatar until they were forced to reincarnate into another firebender. Firmly believing the Avatar will join their ranks, the Fire Nation pushes forwards in their conquest. What they're not expecting is for the new Avatar to turn against her birth nation.​

Hi there, friends! Hopefully this little plot bunny sparked an interest in some of you. It's basically a "what if?" scenario. In this case, what if Aang never left the air temple, and was killed with the rest of the airbenders?

For this rp, I'm looking for a full new cast of characters, both benders and non-benders, to fill in the roles the canon characters filled, and then some. I'm thinking of starting the plot off in a rural Fire Nation village, home to a small resistance against the militaristic regime. This would give our firebending Avatar a reason to not side with the Fire Nation and instead seek out like-minded individuals.

I'll be tentatively claiming the role of Avatar right off the bat, if only to prevent one person from hogging the spotlight? But if someone can make a good argument otherwise I'll consider delegating the role elsewhere.

Would all elemental benders be present at the start? Or would they along their way start picking up new members of the group? I ask ebcause im interested in being the earth bender of the group and bending teacher of the fire avatar.

The immediate reasons that come to mind is that your character is an earthbender troop, or was a natural-born earthbender in the village, or your character heard of the resistance and moved in to help with that? So yes, all elemental benders are available to start out.

The immediate reasons that come to mind is that your character is an earthbender troop, or was a natural-born earthbender in the village, or your character heard of the resistance and moved in to help with that? So yes, all elemental benders are available to start out.

They will, it’ll just be under different circumstances. This is mostly player-driven, since I’m still planning things and some things simply can’t be planned for.

I've been craving a good ATLA plot and this looks promising. Definitely interested. Given the chance, I'll likely create a firebender. Not opposed to playing multiple roles though if you need specific ones filled.

It’s implied the water avatar and earth avatar were found and killed by the fire nation on purpose to get the avatar as a firebender.

Alright so the most glaring plot hole I see is the fact that the next bending the Avatar needs to learn is airbending, and airbending is non-existent now, so... a couple ideas for shoehorning it in an airbending teacher would be an airbender from a non-bending or other-bending family who has airbending ancestors somewhere, or the Avatar could just learn from the source? idk it's kinda up in the air right now, pun not intended.

Anyways, seems like we have plenty of interested people, so I'm gonna go ahead and make an OOC and CS page.

Also you could make it that one air bender did survive the fire nations onslaught against them and they ended up having a kid who is an air bender. They would be the only one left. Probably hiding in the earth nation or one of the water tribes
