The Fire nation could get so much power because Aang was frozen in ice for a 100 years.

Over the years the spirits have looked for solutions until one came with an idea that might work, give certain people two elements to bend instead of four. These individuals all met at some point in their life, the question is, do they remember each other? And will they stay/become loyal to Ozai instead?

Of course, they hadn't really counted on Aang being released from the ice, but a gift is a gift and Aang would still need the extra help to defeat Ozai when the time came.

Water and earth were always my favourites. Wonder if there are fun ways to combine it apart from mud bending.

Understood. Did no expect it, just meant just mixing Earth and water together to make mud not mud as a separate "element".
