Wip
Name: Ulva
Age: 22
Appearance (image and/or description):
zYdUY8F.png

Region of Origin: Northern Water Tribe
Role: Avatar, Tribal Princess

Combat Abilities: As avatar she has the potential to learn all forms of bending. So far she had shown great natural ability with water bending though she has little training in it. She has also so far demonstrated fire bending. Though not quite a fighter yet, her personality makes her naturally gravitate towaeds the neutral jing approach, going on the defensive with her agility avoid attacks until she can strike back redirect.
Non-Combat Abilities: Already a capable in healing bending and her position and frequent meditation in the spirit oasis allowed her to be quite more attuned to the spiritual world already.
Equipment: Her brothers bone scymitar, water skin with spirt water, a stone from a betrothal necklace worn as bracelet.

Personality: humorous, flirtatious, dedicated, caring, slow to trust, lack of self confidence, patient, calculating.
Backstory:
To most the birth of an avatar would be a source of pride if a little bittersweet. The family would have to give up the avatar for the necessity of the greater good and balance but the avatar would do great and legendary things to be proud of. However the birth of his only as the avatar was curse to the chief of the North Tribe. The chief hold to power was tanious politically as she threatened his image as a traditionalist and denied a valuable political tool in his daughter. Also it threatened him diplomatically as tension were high with the warmongering fire nation, to let be know the north held the avatar it would turn the focus of the fire nation to them.

Therefore, despite revealing her abilities at a young age, Ulva was denied her destiny denied even the very me mention of the avatar and lived the life expected of a dutiful princess of the water tribe. She took the role seriously, though her power as Princess was limited she was a fast learner both in the healing bending arts and the spiritual world. Her caring manner willing to help those high and low in matters both spiritual and healing gained her support and influence but also suspicion and disapproval particularly her father who though she was going beyond her station and ruining her brothers future.

Things changed about a year ago when her brother was seemingly killed fighting off a raid by the fire nation at one of the villages of the North. It devasted the chief and Ulva as well as the entire tribe. Ulva became more shut in while her father accelerated his plans for her particularly her betrothal. It was around this time also Ulva discovered what she was as she meditated in the spirit oasis searching for comfort from the spirits. Grief replaced by anger and a feeling of betrayal she went to her father and the pair argued heartedly to the point water was thrown. In this fight witness witnessed both reject the marriage and saw her performed fire bending when she was beaten back by her more experienced father. This news brought to the betrothed who seemingly been rejected worked with the fire nation to stage a coup. Ulva escaped due to the intervention of Yuu, a friend of her and her brother, and her father.

Name:
Yuu
Age:
28
Appearance (image and/or description):
IMG_0537.JPG
Region of Origin (Air Nomads, Northern/Southern Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation):
Northern Tribe
Role (both in-RP role such as water bending master to the avatar, and the lore-based role such as general of the Earth Kingdom):
Water Bending Master (Teacher to the Avatar) & Council of Warriors member/advisor

Combat Abilities (a description of their abilities with relation to bending and combat, keep in mind none are at "peak" bending capabilities):
Yuu seems well versed in water bending, crafting a Arsenal of wider ranged abilities. Allowing himself to adapt to most situations when his strength and illness are well enough or his reserves are drawn from in times of need. He's quick, possesses great reflexes and coordination after years of training his mind and body, his dancer studies and practice have aided in forming his style and ability. Meanwhile he continues his training to expand further as he's not never happy with his progress illness or no. Usually he takes a more reactive approach to combat allowing the first move to his opponent then adapting to the strike and using it against them and capitalizing where and when he can. Overall a patient and tactical adversary with a dancers form.
Non-Combat Abilities (a description of any abilities not related to combat, keep it reasonable):
Dancing
Basic first aid
Spiritually in tune
Decent intelligence & tactical skill

Equipment (any items, combat or otherwise, that you think might be noteworthy):
Personal journal
Creative writing journal
Writing utensil carrier
Skin bag for extra water for bending

Personality:
Yuu is said to mean excellence, superiority, brave and gentleness while could also mean distant and leisurely. In a way that could be fitting but overall, Yuu is a man who tends to care deeply and can be sensitive to a variety of issues and feelings. Which can be linked to his creative side and love for dance and poetry, he loves nature and natural ways, respecting history and wanting to learn from it leading to a studious nature and combining to his hard work ethic and mixing with his willingness to be open minded.

Furthermore he's learned to live reserved and outspoken, learning the hard way when to keep ones opinion silent and when to speak. He isn't prone to sharing his troubles but can be sensitive to others and offering of his ear or shoulder when needed. When it comes to leadership he prefers more freedom but assists and performs dutifully often without actually accepting leadership roles. Tends to be eccentric in his ways and often will use the phrase "Flow like water" to death when teaching. If necessary he will repeat after repeat until seeing it necessary to explain further and if needed demonstrate what he means. But likes it when students catch onto the deeper meaning of his common phrase and loves to see them succeed as water benders.

He's quite able to appear silent and meditative too during teachings or in general, part of his method. But don't mistake him for the complete silent type nor unaware, he feels it more calming and better suited for training to allow his eyes not peer upon students to let them feel less nervous by having less watching their every move. Instead he listens, intending to get a feel for his surroundings and what is going on, something he has developed over the years to sharpen his other senses.

Backstory:
An orphan from the north living in the lower markets, life wasn't terrible as it might have been elsewhere. It wasn't great either, but he survived and learned valuable lessons about work ethic and keeping studies as strong and on point as possible in order to better his future. Over time Yuu went from a orphan to a prospect for training as a Water bender upon a accidental movement of some near by water from a glass, leading him to train under one of the local masters where he grew into a kid with potential, each passing year that potential rose to that of a future master in his own right and perhaps higher then could have been foreseen by his teacher. However during his youth adult years he developed a illness that hindered his strength and abilities, causing a former orphan who didn't have much belief in spirituality to a young man who found it's deeper meaning and purpose, the value it could have which led to a lot of soul searching and training, turning to his past studies and those anew til he found some answers and more over time. Eventually learning to cope with his illness and hide it, finding treatments and natural methods of dealing with his problem that his pride wouldn't allow to be revealed and cause to be looked at differently and treated as such.

Yuu returned to active service while adapting his creative side and spiritual searching and learning to open and broaden his style, body and mind bringing more of his dancers form into play. Allowing him to smoothly flow into more fluid and strong defenses and more quickly turn them into somewhat more aggressive offensive strikes, essentially adapting the style of the northern tribe with what he picked from a visiting southern tribe bender all the while blending his own style into it. He would always still take longer to reach his potential with his illness but atleast he was adapting to his own found nature that seemingly was destined for him. One he managed to accept after much time searching deep within himself and asking questions he didn't before wish to ask nor know the answer.

He became more eccentric but found elevated respect and status within the military force of the northern tribe. Joining more war bands on patrol and assignment, rising into a role within the council of warriors or least the northern tribe variant and taking on a bit of a advisory role due to his minds tactical ability and respectable power as a bender, a young expert turned Master. But it was a year ago after few years into his new role that he took part in a particularly memorable assignment that turned tragic at a moments notice, merely right place right time near one of the outer villages during a attempted raid by the fire nation. Yuu had been there with his brothers in arms in just enough time to aid their own people, he fought alongside them and one was none other then the brother to the princess and son to the royal family. A man Yuu had gotten to know as they were of similar age and known one another for some time now, this wasn't their first together and it wasn't expected to be their last.......

Even still as one year passed from that day, Yuu hasn't forgotten nor doesn't he wish to forget. He bares the weight of guilt and anger that while has been tamed and cooled, remains burning a little on the inside as too many were lost. One life was too many but that toll was greater then one and he felt helpless in preventing those lives from being taken. He couldn't have done much more then he already had but it played no matter in his mind, they may have turned the tide but victory was less sweet and just a tad bitter. Now Yuu finds himself letting go of that anger or what remains of it and turn it into motivation to not allow another fall under his watch. A perfectly impossible task but it's kept him strong and busy as much as it can.

Yuu remains dutiful, but finds himself perhaps in a new role....

Name: Yazua
Age: 17
Appearance:
905eeb79cb5b5358ef378b4921c0c340.png
Yazua is slightly taller than the average female her age, having a slender build. Her sharp, yet soft facial features show her noble blood, her origins. Even more so does the burn scar she has on her left cheek. Its not major, almost just a scratch, but on closer inspection is quite distinguishable as what it is.

Region of Origin: Fire Nation
Role: Future Firebending Teacher, fire nation noble and supposed commander, however now a wanted deserter

Combat Abilities:
Trained from a young age, Yazua has mastered the basic abilities of fire bending. Controlling intensity and size of her flames is something she can do as well, to an extend, though seh seems to struggle to keep her fire strong oftenly. She further learned to defend against another benders fire. Yazu usually uses a combination of two fire bending styles, those being wide waves of fire, created by sweeping movements, as well as quick and precise blasts, controlled with just two fingers. In addition, she likes using fire daggers to aid her in combat. She can further breath fire, but only to a very little extend as of yet. She is learning to summon lightning, but struggles with that a lot currently.

Yazua has a lot of potential as a bender. That can be seen by two factors. The way she knows how to use and utilize the techniques she knows when fighting with her mind in it, shows that she is a clever fighter. But more importantly: Whenever she gets enraged, the true intensity of her fire shows. It is maybe even among the top 5 of strongest fires within the fire nation. However, she cannot use its full potential yet, even when enraged. If she found a way to both, gain the intensity of her rage and the technique of her calmness, as well as keeping her training up to use her potential to its limits, she could be one of the strongest firebenders out there. As of now however, she is just very very slightly above average in both states.

Further, her usually precise and calculated style of fighting can quickly change when she loses her temper. She then shifts to a very aggressive, destructive and uncontrolled style of bending, that can easily overwhelm opponents, but is very easy to punish if unsuccessful. It can also easily harm friends around her, as she tends to not think before acting in those moments, driven by tunnel sighted aggression.

Besides her bending, Yazua has been trained in hand to hand combat, which flows into her usual style, but gets left behind when she starts to lose her temper. She is able to deliver quick, elegant precise strikes, when focussed. Only then, however.

Non-Combat Abilities:
Intelligent and Eduated (the latter only somewhat, as fire nation eduation is very onesided and propagandistic)
Singing
Cooking

Equipment:
Fire Nation clothes
Pouch of tea leaves, a present from her old master
A ring with a fire nation noble house emblem engraved in it.

Personality:
Yazua is generally a very kind, caring and loving person. She tries to be polite in all situations and be on good terms with everyone. It is clear that she has been very well educated. She is compassionate, trying not to harm or hurt anybody. She shows to be quite intelligent and prefers to think before acting. She generally tries to avoid fights, but won´t act a coward, if challenged.

Yazua´s biggest flaw and at the same time weakness is her temper. She has a very short temper. And once she gets angry, she seems to lose all sense of reason. She takes a while to calm down again, in which she is better left alone, unless you are one of the few people that are actually able to calm her down. Her rage is one of her major flaws, even if it enhances her fire´s intensity to levels beyond what she usually manages to achieve, the lack of technique and thought in her fighting makes this a fatal flaw. And the impact it can have on relationships is just as bad.

Yazua is victim to major struggles. She does not know where she belongs, is caught between what she learned and what she feels. She struggles with what feels wrong, but is said to be right and vice versa. These struggles make her very insecure, as she loves her family, does not want to dishonor or ashame them but at the same time cannot stand for what they stand. She feels like she does not belong anywhere in the world oftenly. And like she just makes everything worse than it already is, with her outbursts. These inner struggles have an impact on her chakras as well, limiting her ability far below her potential.

WIP
Name:
Yan
Age: 26
latest

Region of Origin: Earth Kingdom
Role: Future Earth Bending teacher and a former Earth Kingdom general turned deserter

Combat Abilities: Yan has achieved a very high level of earth bending prowess, and it is mostly based around speed. Being thinner than most other members of the Earth Kingdom's military, Yan has developed a swift style of fighting which favors speed over raw power. He tends to favor taking control of smaller earth projectiles in order to deliver quick strikes to his enemies and wear them down with blinding speed. Yan is fond of attacking relentlessly, using his high agility to dodge out of attacks and circling around opponents as he tugs at their feet and hurls projectiles at them with speed and volume. His prowess lies in breaking an enemy's will and defenses through rapid, endless barrages of strikes, rather than attacking with big and hulking blows. Much like his earth bending, Yan's hand-to-hand combat follows the same principle of volume and speed over power or precision, and it consists of swift movement away from an enemy's own weapons (limbs or otherwise) while delivering rapid strikes, mainly with his legs. Being a military man, Yan was trained in sword fighting a decent amount, making him an acceptable fighter with a blade, but since his bending makes a sword redundant, he's no more than competent.

Non-Combat Abilities:
Parkour skills
Excellent tactician
Painting
Good at taming animals such as ostrich horses

Equipment:
Steel dirk
Several coin pouches
Earth Kingdom military attire with a green cape
Common Earth Kingdom Clothing
Jeweled family necklace
Backpack

Personality: If there was one word to describe Yan's general attitude, it would be "meh." He never seems to get agitated over anything, not out of ignorance, but simply out of callousness. Years of serving under the Earth Kingdom's military have made him grow rather accustomed to violence and most troublesome situations that can come up in life. Yan seems to think that problems with no solution aren't worth fretting over, and problems that can be solved will be solved through action, not stress. As such, he rarely gets upset or ruffled, because Yan truly believes that he is capable of solving whatever problem is put in front of him handily. With this comes an air of confidence which is not to say he's arrogant, but Yan is a man who is very sure of himself and who understands his capabilities and what they're worth, so he'll often be of the idea that there is no problem too big for him to solve.

Most of all, Yan is a man of focus and determination. As a general, Yan had to learn to calm down and look upon battle plans to command an army, which has carried over to his daily life. He is fond of setting goals for himself and those around him in the interest of maintaining focus on a larger goal, and he will not stop until said goal is accomplished. Yan is patient and calculating in all things, and he often finds himself either a leader or a guide to those around him, since he tends to be the person with the clearest mind. In conversation and around others, Yan is well-mannered and only likes to say what needs to be said, and nothing more. He enjoys the company of others but prefers quiet and relaxing activities, rather than parties or exhausting arguments. Yan prefers to "show" people his convictions and beliefs, rather than fight them to try and change them and believes that mutual understanding is the key to peace between two people.

In combat, Yan is laser-focused and relentless, and incredibly difficult to frustrate. He calculates his movements carefully and decides on the most effective course of action, rarely ever allowing himself to diverge from the said course of action unless he discovers a better one. Yan is protective and loyal to those he cares about, and he is not above fighting for them if deemed necessary. More often than not, Yan prefers to solve problems with words and reason, rather than combat, in an effort to show those around him that there are easier, and less costly ways to resolve a conflict. He earned a reputation in the Earth Kingdom's military as a fierce fighter, but also as a man who put the life of his men above his own and was willing to do more than others to keep them safe. He's lost very few men in combat because he's often able to prevent the issue to escalate that far.

Backstory: Yan was born in the city of Omashu to a father who served as a high-ranking officer in the Earth Kingdom military and a mother who was of noble descent. He had no siblings and spent most of his time with his father training, while his mother hired royal educators so he may learn to read books about history and politics to make sure that he grew up well-educated. His father had always been a hard man, much like his mother, but neither of them ever lost focus of the task at hand, no matter how upset they got or how dire the situation became. It was from them that Yan inherited his perseverance and his seemingly emotionless attitude toward most things. As he grew into his teenage years, Yan made lots of friends in the royal court of Omashu thanks to his mother, which is where he developed a love for nature and art, particularly painting. The children would often gravitate toward culture and beauty rather than fun, which was a direct consequence of their highborn status, which is what pulled Yan toward these interests.

One day, while Yan grew bored of meditating with the king's nephews he decided to challenge them and pass the time that way, which mostly arose from the fact that he'd not been able to train as often as he'd liked since his father had fallen ill a little after Yan's 13th birthday. It took no more than 30 seconds for the other kids to wind up on the ground, beaten about as easily as a grown man can beat a child. Yan realized that he had no competition among those that were the same age as him, and so he asked his father for permission to join the Earth Kingdom military, which he granted. Despite Yan's mother vehemently warning him not to join, Yan wouldn't hear any of it, constantly comparing himself to what his father had been and feeling small and weak in comparison. He joined the military a couple of months before his 14th birthday, feeling confident that it would be a very easy path to military heights and glory. Unfortunately (or fortunately, upon reflection), Yan found that soldiers weren't as slow and tender as kids, and they also hit much harder.

He constantly found himself on the losing end of battles and returned home with so many bruises his mother could no longer keep track, but he persisted. More than persist, Yan was patient, and he watched very closely. He learned from watching, be it a slight twitch of the knee before an incoming kicked boulder, or a slight lowering of the center of gravity before raising pillars from the ground. Despite all their skill and training, young Yan learned their movements and he learned their weaknesses. At first, it hadn't been easy to exploit said weaknesses and telegraphs under the pressure and adrenaline of live combat, but by the time he was 16, Yan had started to consistently wipe the floor with the soldiers around him. Once he was deemed ready enough, Yan was sent out on his first mission to hold the border between Omashu and The Swamp where a group of raiders had taken to assaulting caravans. Within a few short weeks, Yan and the battlement sent with him seized the raiders and returned to Omashu triumphantly.

The missions continued like this until Yan turned 20, at which point he was transferred to Ba Sing Se to join the main force of the Earth Kingdom's army. He said goodbye to his mother and his bedridden father and went off to Ba Sing Se. It was there where Yan continued exploring his interests, painting in particular. There were no shortages of art shops and painters in Ba Sing Se for Yan to indulge in his most beloved hobby. Not only that, but he also found incredible success there, becoming one of the most renowned earth benders in the army and quickly rising the ranks until he became one of the youngest generals at 22 years old. He earned quite a reputation for his successes and his incredibly low casualty rate there. Unfortunately, shortly after this, things started going downhill. He'd been exposed to the corruption of Ba Sing Se several times, even before becoming a general, but after the Fire Nation launched its offensive and made a pact with the Earth King, everything seemed to go downhill. For a while, Yan followed orders like he was supposed to, but it eventually became too much and he was forced to desert.

For a while, Yan questioned himself and who he'd become, thinking back to the things he'd done for the corrupt Earth Kingdom for the sake of loyalty, and unsure of the kind of man he was. He wondered what his father, long dead at that point, would think of the man he'd become. It took him some time, through exploration and meeting people along the way, for Yan to finally rediscover himself and remember the man he'd once been, and the man his father had raised him to become. Realizing that he'd done too much wrong in the world for the sake of titles and loyalty, Yan decided to set out and try and find ways to make things right. Often times he'd find farms and caravans being harassed by Earth Kingdom soldiers, and take the soldiers out to allow the people as much safety as he could provide them. Other times he'd carry supplies to people in need. Even through it all, it didn't feel to Yan as though he was doing enough to atone for all he'd done with the Earth Kingdom.

His travels eventually took him to a town near the border with the Fire Nation, where it was reported that there was a fire bender on the loose. He quickly ran to the scene, only instead of finding a rogue fire bender, he found a scared and angry girl being harassed by Earth Kingdom soldiers. Yan helped her fight off the attackers, quickly noticing her anger, and he managed to calm her down. He learned that the girl's name was Yazua and that she was former Fire Nation nobility who'd escaped her land. Since that day, the duo traveled together and worked together, as they both seemed to be on their own personal quest that somehow intertwined with the other's quest. Yan understands that the fate of the world rests on the balance, and he sincerely hopes that he can find a way to stop it, and soon.

Name: Yangchen (though she dislikes when people use her full name and perfefers they call her a nickname)
Age: 23
Appearance:
583531
583532
583534
Region of Origin: Air Nomad, originally grew up in the Western air temple.
Role: Future Air bending teacher. Air bending master.

Combat Abilities: As an Air Bender Yangchen is almost completely focused on defense, swiftly moving about the battle making sure not to get hit and waiting for a chance to knock her opponent off guard. She is good at keeping a distance and helping her allies with assists, or to knock down an enemy who's footing was unsteady. Yangchen's training taught her endurance, she might not be able to punch out her opponents but she can outpace them for sure.

Non-Combat Abilities: Meditation and peace of mind, a deep connection to the spirit world, dancing.

Equipment: Airbender Staff, meditation beads she received from her teacher.

Personality: Yangchen is a kind and helpful soul always looking to do the right thing, even if it goes against her teachings she listens to her heart on important matters. On the outside Yangchen is calm and mature, the way she speaks isn't overly formal but it does sound odd to the average person. At times this can make her seem unapproachable or uninterested, in reality Yangchen is so careful with her words and mannerisms because of how worried she is of upsetting someone. That said once she's familiar with someone she'll make the worst jokes and puns, she loves a good story and believes in 'the one'.
Backstory: Born and raised in the Western Air Temple, Yangchen was a fast learner when it came to learning new techniques and practices. Though her social skills always lacked in comparison to her actual studies. She became an Air Bending master when she turned twenty. After the Fire Nation declared war, Yangchen chose to leave the safety of the temples in hopes that she could help end the war as peacefully as possible.

Name: Kenzin
Age: 20
Appearance:
source.gif

Region of Origin:
Earth Kingdom, Ba Sing Se
Role :
Swordsman/Weapons Guide, Son of Earth Kingdom Industrialist

Combat Abilities: Non-Bender: Kenzin began training in weapons wielding and martial arts since the age of 12. Deemed an Earth Kingdom prodigy, he's amassed a variety of skill and technique both with and without weapons, as well as other skills because of his exposure to weapons and danger.

  • Swordsman: Kenzin is skilled with a variety of bladed weapons at his grasp, and takes most proficiency using the dual katana.
  • Mixed Martial Arts: Kenzin was trained in various Earth kingdom and Japanese-styled arts from an early age, and is an excellent martial artists. He can parry multiple opponents at a time, and adapt to situations with ease.
  • Throwing: Kenzin is skilled in throwing shuriken and kunai at a great distance, and has performed the feat with other weapons and at times, eyes closed.
  • Weaponry: Asides from his preferred swords, Kenzin is able to wield other weapons with high expertise such as staves, staffs, eskrima sticks, and more.
Non-Combat Abilities:

  • Blacksmith: After years of exposure, and watching his own weapons being forged, Kenzin is an amateur blacksmith, and is able to repair weapons and with time, also fabricate new ones.
  • Conditioning: Kenzin is in optimal physical shape for someone his age, and it is evident in his appearance as well as physical capabilities (strength, speed, resilience, agility, reflex)
  • Acrobatics: As a gifted athlete, Kenzin possesses a high level of acrobatic skill and flexibility.
  • Resourceful: Whether it be fabricating his own weapon on the spot (using objects present), re-purposing objects, eating on scraps, Kenzin is able to use little for greater.
Equipment:

  • Obsidian Dual Katana: His primary weapon of choice.
  • Kunai/Shuriken: Most often set onto his belt, 3 of each when leaving his home.
  • Coin pouches.
Personality:
Kenzin is an easy-going and friendly individual. Going the mile for a friend and even a stranger, he's often too trusting and gullible. A human personification of a dog, Kenzin is a loyal, and supportive individual to those close to him, which often leads to him becoming overprotective and possessive. He has a very positive, and kind aura, a very energetic individual in general. Kenzin also often has little to know filter, and rarely reflects his words before speaking. Easily impressed, and pleased.
When wielding a blade, or in a fighting situation, Kenzin's kindness and sympathy instantly vanishes as if a switch has been clicked. He has little to no remorse to those who wish to harm him or loved ones, and is often silent and quick in such situations.

Backstory:
Kenzin is son of Yi-Ming, one of the most powerful citizens of the Earth Kingdom. His family, a long line of benders, formed a blacksmith, weapons forging industry. Supplying the Earth Kingdom Army, and much of the kingdoms' citizens. They also had long ties with the royal family because of this, having their loyalties lie strongly with them. Because of this, Kenzin's family has been powerful both politically and financially.
Kenzin's early life was very strict like most of the upper-class Earth citizens. The kingdom was founded much on culture and tradition, and upholding said were the responsibilities of his parents and household. Kenzin's education has always been the best possible, having been born and raised in the Kingdom's capital of Ba Sing Se. He excelled in the learning environment, and it didn't take long for him to become tired of it. His restless personality only began to form in his youth, before being enrolled in a Ba Sing Se dojo, and finally the Earth Kingdom Academy (for much of the upper class youth). There, not only were his grades up, but he was able to focus and get some of the best martial arts and weapons wielding training in the nation.
Kenzin stopped his education at the age of 17 and returned to his family where he immediately became a part of the family operation. He was taught to be strict and unforgiving as the heir to the industry which was obviously out of his own personality-type. As he'd returned, he'd also be revealed to the fact he'd had a bastard brother of his father who was almost his age. His half-brother brother, a cold, and heartless man only wanted one thing, which was to appease the family and had no problem with abusing the workers and industry, in spite of Kenzin's warnings.
In spite of his notorious half-brother, Kenzin saw his family as helpers and innovators of the Earth Kingdom until the Fire Nation attacked around his 19th birthday. To his dismay, not only did his father continue dealings with the Earth Kingdom (that'd allied themselves with the Fire Nation), he continued to endorse them politically. Disgusted, Kenzin amassed a portion of his families funds, weapons, and resources, and has since become a traveler, training in various dojos around the world in hopes of finding a way to stop the Fire Nation.

Note: Kenzin's hair was originally a dark brown, but he's since dyed it a bright orange in hopes of staying under the radar.

Name
Uzuri

Alias
Uri

Age
24

Appearance

585380
Uri is a fair featured woman with an olive complexion with a few adorning scars and beauty marks along her gentle cheekbones. She has soft features that make her seem like a more motherly figure. Dark ebony tresses fall to midback and her Caribbean optics contrast greatly with her features.

585389

Though Uri was born a Water Bender, she still wears her birth-nation's colors. She wears mostly loose clothing due to her preference of wanting smoother movements for when she bends. Along with said pieces of clothing, she wears bandages along her knees to ankles and elbows to wrists to hide her scars from being locked up in the rocky restraints that her mother placed on her.

Her figure is slender and athletic, though does not show much muscle and shows more a long the lines of tone. She is average height for being a female from the Earth Kingdom, though she does show attributes of the Southern Water Tribe, such as a few of her facial features and her slender build.

Region of Origin

Earth Kingdom

Role
Support & Guide to Earth Kingdom, Niece of the Earth Kingdom's King

Combat Abilities
Due to the lack of a Water Bending teacher within the shadows of her mother's and uncle's dreary home within the Earth Kingdom, Uri had to teach herself when alone. As a child, she would sit in her room, locked away from the outside world and would only have the company of the moon on many nights, which she learned gave her some sort of strength and that her powers were stronger during the night, though they waned during a Lunar Eclipse. She would sit in her room with a bowl of water and practice her bending, which is when she discovered her preferred style of bending; one of grace and swiftness, as many of her unknown relatives before her had done. Due to her lack of physical strength, she relies on the agility and flow of her movements when bending. When doing this, she allows herself to move with the water, seeing how water is the element of change and can be used more efficiently if used in defensive movements instead of full on attacks. Uri focuses more on defensive moves and counter-attacks, using the opponents weaknesses and element against them.

In short, she is well-versed in most basic techniques, though they may not be as poised and controlled as those taught by a teacher.

Personality
Uri is quite the cautious woman ever since her escape from the wretched place she used to call home. On her journeys, she has become very timid and keeps to herself most of the time, in fear that someone would shun her or possibly turn her back into the Earth Kingdom. Though she fears the worst most of the time, once her shell is cracked open, she is a very loving and caring woman who sees the good in the worst of situations. Her heart tends to be bigger than her brain and results in her helping others in need when she knows it could end horribly. Beneath the attentive shell, Uri is motherly and will do her best to help out in hard times. Though, do be careful when angering her because she does have a bit of a temper; she will stand up for what she thinks is right and has no problem getting into an argument to prove her point.

Backstory
On a dark night, the King's sister fled the Earth Kingdom to be with her secret lover for one more night before she was to be wed to a corrupt noble. Many months of unhappy marriage followed but through those next several months, the young princess came to the realization that she was pregnant. For many nights, she feared that her husband would find out about her affairs with the Northerner she'd fallen so deeply in love with. After nine months, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and was soon hit with a chaotic mix of love and despair; the child looked nothing like the noble, Li Wang, who was supposed to be her father. Throughout the next years of her life, she grew up as the black sheep within her growing family. Uri grew up with two more brothers, who were to be the head of the Earth Kingdom some day. The three went to train with their father one day, only to find that Uri couldn't earth bend, which infuriated Li Wang. Arguments started between Uri's mother and her husband, causing tension to heighten and soon caused her mother to separate Uri from the family, putting her into the opposite wing of the palace.

In Uri's isolation, she uncovered her ability to water bend. She soon spent hours cooped up in her room, learning and teaching herself the ways of water bending, in hopes of impressing her mother or even getting her step-father's approval, any sign of positivity, love, or affection; anything that would make her feel accepted. One day, she met a young boy who was a bit older than her; he was one of her brothers' friends. Uri grew to be great friends with the boy, Yan, and even revealed her water bending to him, to which in her surprise, he didn't leave her alone like she feared. They grew to be great friends and would often sneak off to play chase in the garden or run around the palace, playing tag.

Soon, her mother found out about her bending and grew furious when Uri furiously rebelled and revealed that Yan accepted her, questioning her mother's love for her. Uri's mother quickly locked her away in restraints made of hard rock and quickly fled to her room. This continued for a few more weeks, when within this time, her best friend was nowhere to be seen. So, being in her mid teens, she finally escaped with the aide of the full moon and was never seen by her mother or family again. She now journeys across the country, in search of a teacher or even her true father, hoping one day to reunite with Yan and her father.

Name: Vette Vo Cho

Age: 19

Appearance:

586152

If one were to approach Vette, in the right winds, the very first thing of note would be the omnipresent scent of smoke and copper. Next would be the shock of bright blonde hair kept short in an attempted bob. A sharp face that is naturally complimented by a wide, often smiling, mouth and large slightly doe brown eyes.

Unfortunately, due to her inherited profession, Vette has suffered injuries in the line of duty. Mostly topical, there is a plethora of scarring and burns around her hands and across her chest. The tips of her hair are often singed black and she seems covered in a perpetual layer of soot.

Young, tall, tan and rather amply built, Vette hides much of her shaped figure under her heavy clothing and gear. Vette often forgoes much of the fire nation aesthetic as her own personal projects take precedence. Leaning less towards reds and much closer to oranges, yellows, and blacks, much of her clothing though is purely utilitarian. Preferring clothing with lots of pockets and work overalls as well as oversized boots and gloves.

When not working, her clothing is conservative and reflects the fact that she is of the lower classes and doesn’t have much wealth outside her owned assets.

Region of Origin: Fire Nation, Heiress to the dead Noble House Vo Cho and Granddaughter to the Storm Duke Vey Vo Cho

Role: Inventor and burgeoning master of the Lightning, Future teacher of Lightning firebending techniques to the avatar

Combat Abilities:
As far as bending the flame to her will, Vette is less competent than some children. Fire is almost incapable of being bent by her. But there are other forms of fire out there that her lineage is attuned to. Lightning. Capable of internalizing and projecting blasts of the refined flame, Vette is however at the mercy of this power and has very little refined control over it. She is just as likely to explode herself as she is to project a bolt.

Mastery is years away, and most likely impaired by her own misalignment of her ki. The loss of her father, home, and derangement in regards to the value of her batteries has harmed her deeply, rendering her abilities just as wild and unpredictable as the storms she wields.

Non-Combat Abilities: An engineer of sorts, Vette has been trained and raised by a master of Fire Nation technologies and as such has an innate understanding of industry and machinery.

Along with this, Vette was also granted training in the ways of the potions and formulas. Mixing and matching to find ingredients that suit her needs, most of which being industrial in application though the knowledge for more useful application is there.

Equipment :
Apart from her clothing, covered wagon and basic engineering supplies. Vette owns nothing of note except hundreds of foot long clay pots, sealed and with two bits of metal sticking out. Something she calls, batteries.

The wagon itself is of classic fire nation design, ornate on the outside yet somehow spacious inside, with considerable amounts of metal worked into the design. Inside is a classic layout, a small kitchen, table, built in beds and a lounging seat. Simple, efficient and utterly without means to move it. So she sits, making batteries to vent out her own build ups of energy and wallowing in the aftermath.

Personality:

Like the element she bends, Vette is a bolt in her own right. Headstrong, loud, and powerful. She’s prone to being called ‘a bit much’. Her loudness, brazen attitude, and general dismissal of others will often drive others away before they get a chance to know her.

On the other side of the spectrum, Vette does not take failure well. A proud being in her own right, each little failure is magnified tenfold. When this happens, Vette will wallow and spiral downwards, eventually ending up in her bed, barely moving for a few days before recovering.

When caught in between extremes, Vette at her best is a brave, intelligent and fiercely loyal young woman, honor bound to carry on the work of her father and eventually find a way to avenge his death and reclaim her families estate from Imperials who stole it from her father.

Backstory:
The Vo Cho family once was something. A clan of dreamers and forward thinkers, bound together by the love of family, honor, and the idea that they could change the world for the better.

That all changed with the times. As the Fire Nation grew more powerful, so the Vo Cho family grew weaker. Machines driven by coal took the precedence and the Fire Lords grew tired of the constant failure of far fetched ideas.

Eventually loans had to be taken to keep the family afloat, that poisonous debt seeping into the blood of the family.

A poison that was kept away from the youngest Vo Cho, the last of the line. A daughter by the name of Vette. A charming little thing that held her fathers hand while he puttered around his workshop.

He died far too young, and deep in debt. Vette only sixteen at the time of his death, still recovering from the loss of her mother eight years prior. The sole heir to her family, Vette grew up quickly as creditors came calling at the funeral ceremonies.

She fought them for years, selling off things bit by bit until the last thing she could give was the deed to her home. Selling it at a loss and using the meager profits she bought herself a wagon and began to focus on her fathers last quest, a way to channel the power of lightning into a safer way for all to use without the risk of electrocuted.

Alone, half crazy, and committed fully. Vette travels and works when/wherever she can to fund her research and hopefully find a breakthrough in her work and maybe one in her own mind.
