Kaia S.

location: Yue Bay, then walking through Republic City

Yue Bay

Kaia sighed as she walked out onto the deck of the immigrant ship she had been traveling on. She was traveling back to Republic City and could feel the nostalgia and giddiness building within her. She caught site of the Avatar Aang memorial statue, and she could almost hear the jazz music and smell the engines of the Satomobiles. The happy firebending girl also felt giddy for another reason; she hadn't seen her father in over 5 years and only remained in contact through sending letters, though she hadn't responded to them for over a month now, because she wanted to surprise her father with her coming back to Republic City. She only had two worries, however, and they were; how much the city has changed since she left for a Fire Nation Academy when she was 13, and how on earth she was going to fit into Republic City once again, it was hard enough for her as a child trying to fit in, but now that she was an adult, she was going to have trouble trying to find people who would accept her in this big city.

"It's not good to think like this, Kaia... you're going to fit in just fine..." She muttered to herself. She then looked up and saw the ship was closer to the dock where she would soon be arriving to in about 10-15 minutes."Ugh... finally, I can get off this ship, sailing is as tedious as I remember it, no wonder I never went anywhere for five years, I hadn't found my sea-legs then, and I surely didn't find them this time... I will never become a fisherman." She mumbled to herself once again. She grasped the red scarf wrapped around her neck and rubbed a piece of the fabric with her thumb and index finger, it was one of her habits which she performed almost constantly. Mako had given her the scarf that his father wore when Kaia left for the Fire Nation Academy, she has only, on rare occasions, taken the beloved scarf off. The scarf was an heirloom, which she decided, would be passed down to every first born child. That is, if she ever were to have children, which Kaia highly doubted she would.

Soon, the boat docked, and Kaia stepped off of the boat and into the bustling streets of Republic City, she took in a deep breath of air and smiled to the city she loved, as if it were a long-time friend.

The Streets of Republic City

Kaia walked through the streets of the city and looked around, remembering old sites from her childhood, even stopping by the arena where her father lived for a long era of his life. It made her joyful to see the improvements made to Republic City over time, especially with crime rates, how they were dropping, but now, she figured they would spike due to the breakout of criminals. Kaia continued to walk around the grand metropolis, enjoying the memories of her old stomping grounds, after she wandered around Republic City a bit more, and maybe even visited Air Temple Island, she would go and find her father.

(This is my starting post for my character, thou shalt not worry, my posts will become a lot shorter, ranging from a short paragraph to about 3 paragraphs if applied.)

Fu arrived on the same immigrant ship, watching the statue of her past life go past trying to wrap her head around the idea. The idea that she was the avatar still hadn't clicked in to her mind, despite the proof she was shown. She could bend more than one element and she had a close spiritual connection but there was still a feeling that any day now the White Lotus would come and say they made a mistake and she was just lucky freak or all this was some sort of dream.

However this was her life know, a life of training and balance keeping, something she approached with both excitement and trepidation. She was looking foward to the training, learning and excitement that came with avatar life but of course she wasn't looking foward to the pressure. At least for now the white lotus had decided not to announce her arrival just yet allowing her to get to know Republic City and get around to being the Avatar before going to the air temple to train.

When the ship docked she sighed before gathering her thongs and stepping out to get knew life.

Dartah sat on the floor leaning on a resting nogo.

He had tried to pour saki but nogos bumped him, spilling his last cup.

"You clumsy girl" dartah pushed the large beast as if he could hurt her.

"Aroo" Nogo whined as dartah started rubbing her face and neck, scratching behind her ears.

"Grrrh aap" she growled.

"I know I know... I won't buy any til we both have a good meal.. I'm thinking arctic hen.. With fire flakes" dartahs smile grew wide, he could smell Republic city.

Nogos nose scrunched a bit,she could to.

"It's good.. It's good." Dart sat back down and got comfortable next to nogo.

He dreamt of spicy food.

Zuko was quietly meditating on some sort of crate when the ship containing the avatar came. When it docked he looked at the group of people exiting the ship, one by one they left to whatever place they needed to go except for one who was busy gathering her things. That girl was the Avatar and Zuko hoped to be her Firebending teacher, if she would accept him that is. He stood up from the crate and stretched as he walked over to the young female. He was shocked that she was younger or looked younger than what she was supposed to be. She was supposed to look like she was twenty cause that's how long ago the actual Avatar died but she wasn't which is very odd. He stopped right in front of her and started to talk.

"Hello Miss, you wouldn't happen to know how to play Pai Cho would you? I seem to have found this Pai Cho piece and since having no idea how to play the game have decided that I shall give it to you."

Having said that he grabbed her free hand and gave her the White Lotus Tile which is to show that he's from the White Lotus and is here to escort her to the facility for training.

Light flickered through the curtains of her room. As the small squares of yellow light illuminated the decent sized room. The posters and lost animal signs litter the room, on stood out, a photo of a boy, but it was old and the print now fading with the sun.

“Sera…” A voice called.

It wasn’t an unfamiliar voice. Nevertheless, it wasn’t as familiar as it had been in the past. The girl rolled out of bed slowly. The floor creaked slightly as she walked across it to her closet before pulling out the dress she would be wearing that day. She moved once again to a jewelry box, it didn’t make a sound as she removed two sets of dog tags and placed them around her neck. The buttons on the front of the dress were the last thing for her to do, watching her fingers closely as the managed to put ever button in its place.

“Oh it’s that strange dress.” The voice said as she walked out into the kitchen from her room. Fyra, her cousin. He sat alone, his girlfriend was probably still asleep.

“You’re mean.” Sera said jokingly at him before sitting down to eat her breakfast as he read the paper.

“Me? Mean, never?” He said not looking up once. “Now hurry or you’ll be late to your route.”

“Right” The girl said before quickly eating her breakfast and grabbing her bag, bidding goodbye to Fyra and rushing out to Republic city.

He got to the post office and quickly got her deliveries and the bike she was assigned and was on her way, through the hills and alleys of this city. From where she was at the moment she could see the Harbor, She wondered if Fyra’s girlfriend had left for her ship yet. A few of her packages lead her to the harbor. As she biked down to the bay, she could see ships coming in from all over Yue bay and past Aang Memorial Island.

‘Why do you follow fate so blindly?’

A voice said to her and she slammed on the brakes of the bike, causing a few people to stare at her before she regained her composure and continued on her way. Under her breath she spoke.

“For a boy I want to meet again.”

//First sera was giving me crap and now she won't shut up. also don't judge this as my common reply length cause it rarely is.//

Nogo licked dartahs face, he woke up startled as her tounge hit his scarred eye

"ARGgghh... Sorry girl... We stopped haven't we?" He asked as if she could reply

Nogo barked eager to leave the boat, "we gotta wait for the big door to let you out" he stood to walk toward the opening door, sailors unloading whatever they were shipping.

Dartah counted his money..

"It's ok to steal food for your family... We family" he rationalised to nogo who looked at him with a cocked head.

They made their way into the city once they could, dartah said his goodbyes to the captain

"Don't go messing with the triads dart!" He called out

"Kay" dartah yelled back leading nogo to the city.

Kaia wandered through Republic City. Then she spotted a large blob of white.

"The heck is that?" She asked herself as she approached the being. She walked up to it and realized it was fur. Her eyes widened as she realized it was an animal. She spotted the animals head and noticed it was a polar-bear dog. She walked over and found the owner on the other side of the polar bear dog. She tapped him on the shoulder.

"Excuse me, but, may I pet your polar-bear dog? I'm sorry I'm just a sucker for animals." She asked, her eyes shining. She loved animals with a very strong passion and never hesitated to try and befriend a passive animal, and, who knew, maybe befriend the owner as well. She held her red and tattered scarf in a tight and nervous grip as she awaited the boys answer.

Dartah turned with a smile, oooooooo she's pretty

"Of course! Go ahead" he composed himself a bit better at the end,

"Nogo sit Yee," he said, Nogo sat panting a bit, dartah started scratching nogos head

"Nogos just a fluffy bunnyturtle arnt ya"

Dartah glanced at the girl slightly

Be casual...

"This is nogo, and nogo this is..I'm sorry whom do we have the pleasure of meeting today?"

Dartah acted as if he was introducing two people.

(huh, thought I corrected the age thing... Oh well. )

It did not seem long after she stepped of the boat when Fu was approached by a guy with wavy long hair in a pony tail approached her. He was clear Fire nation, they colour and style of the robes and hairstyle made him stood to the more modern Republic City styles. She took the tile without saying a word and looked at him and the tile probingly. The tile was right and everything and it was unlikely one other than a white lotus member knew who she was or that she was coming here. However one could not be to careful.

"Huh, that is kind of you." She said finally speaking before pointing to a quite corner so they could speak more freely." So did Joang Joang sent you?"She asked using a fake name, knowing perry much all members of the white lotus.

Kaia face palmed. "Oh! I'm so sorry I forgot to introduce myself!" She exclaimed. "And to think, father taught me manners he never had! I take after him to much I swear!" She muttered to herself. She looked to the boy.

"My name is Kaia, I'm the daughter to Mako. You know, the guy who helped the past avatar?" She said, smiling.

"And hello, Nogo." She said, giggling as she scratched behind Nogo's ear.

"And, if you don't mind me asking, what's your name, Water Boy?" She asked, playfully teasing him with the nickname, since he was obviously from the water tribe, but she really didn't want to tease him too badly, she wanted to make friends with this boy and it was also obvious what kind of bender gave him that scar on his eye.

"If I tell you you have to promise not to make fun of me.. I'm Dartah nuntuk, said the same as that old mover with I'm guessing your uncle...I know the name...bojin?"

Nogo cocked her head to direct where she wanted to be scratched.

Kaia pursed her lips to supress the giggles trying to escape her throat.

"I'm sorry, that is truly a bit funny, and my uncle's name is Bolin." She said seriously trying to hold back the laughter, instead of looking at the boy, she directed her attention to Nogo and petted her where she wanted to be scratched, all the while, Kaia still bit her lip trying to keep in her laughs.

Zuko and Fu Jin went to the corner and there he dropped his friendly attitude. He hated using proper and secretive speech as it goes against his blunt nature to which he is quite fond of.

"Joang Joang did not send me here as he's been dead for awhile now, though I will never forget the members who liberated Ba Sing Sei from the tyranny of the Fire Nation. I know who you are Fu Jin, The White Lotus has been waiting for your arrival for quite a long time ever since we discovered your identity. Follow me if you want to prepare yourself for your duty, and try not to be too annoying about the entirety of the city and how amazing it is. I'd rather not lose you to the huge crowds and I'd prefer if we didn't get sidetracked. Alright this talk has gone on long enough, follow me."

He left the corner and made sure Fu Jin was following behind him. He began leading her to the new training facility that would be her home until she'd master the four elements.

@ThatGuyWithSouvlaki @I am Shadow ((Want me to bring her to the place or not yet?))

Fu had an instant dislike of the fire bender, finding his manner of putting but at least he was who he said he was and could help her training. "Well, than you need to blame your colleagues at Zaofu they are the ones who sent me when they did." She replied half sarcastically." Also Republic City is big and all but still pales in comparison of the artistry in Zaofu so you don't have to worry about that. Anyways were do we start? Still, have a little to learn a out earth bending but I suppose I have to start with the others as well."

By the time, Sera had arrived down at the docks everyone was coming off the boats. She spoke to a few of the business that had packages coming in from the city as well as a few outgoing ones to be picked up, on rush delivery. She was shoving some into her bag and just about to leave the sea of people flowing off the migrant boats. There it was in a bit of the distance something white. Moreover, moving. The young girl left her bicycle and ran towards it. Sera couldn’t see well from that far back yet somewhere in her heart she hoped that it was that familiar creature. However, after weaving through enough people to end up only a few meters away she could see it clearly.

“Oh…it’s just a polar dog…” Sera said if not a little sadly. She was out of breath and her hopes had been slashed.

(Polar bear dog, nogo is naga sized aha)

Nogo liked the attention, but was hungry. Her nose sniffing a meaty scent.

The docks were bustling with activity but Dartah noticed a younger girl emerge from a crowd to see the large white beast that was nogo.

"Guess not a lot of people have seen your type tame Ay girl" he said scratching nogos ear.

“Ah! Sorry to interrupt your conversation. I also thought your polar bear dog was something else. Sorry for wasting your time…” The girl gave a small sad bow before raising her head to show the sadness on her face. “ Goodbye, sorry again…”

@Bad night star

"Whoa whoa whoa, excuse me but I got to know... What could you mistake a polar bear dog for?"

Dartah smiled a friendly smirk as a full grin made the bottom of his scar bunch up a bit.

"Maybe we can help?"

This girl looks to young..to sincere to be pulling cons.. Maybe she just needs a hand.

“A snow owl leopard.” She said. “ They’re big and they’re white, and from a distance it makes sense. I was all the way over at those offices over there, so I just saw a blob of white.” Sera’s eyes followed the color difference between the man’s scar and the rest of his face.

“Help? Ah!” The girl quickly began to look through her parcel bag but continued talking. “ You see the Snow owl leopard belongs To a really good friend of mine,” She pulled out a crumpled piece of paper, a missing flyer. She held the flyer out to Dartah. “He’s my best friend, and he’s been missing for over a year now, and I just thought… that maybe he had turned up again.” The picture was of a boy with curly hair and dark skin with an odd coloration of almost the entirety of the right side of his face.

“Have you seen him?”

"I've..." Dartah took the flier and peered intently at it.

He almost looks water tribe.. He almost looks like me

"I've actually seen This leopard before in my travels.. Well a snow owl leopard..

I feel I'd remember seeing someone like this handsome man though" Dartah handed back the flier, "i saw it in the earth Kingdom, maybe.. Three, four months ago when I was visiting family, close to the great swamp"

His eyes wandered back to the boy in the picture,

Even on the right side...

@Bad night star @I am Shadow

“Snow owl leopards live in the mountains of the earth empire, mostly up to the north…” She looked a little disappointed taking the flier back and placing it in her bag once again. “ Thank you for taking the time to listen to my search. The police in this city have stopped looking for him…”

@Flowiest @I am Shadow

"Have you tired asking the air nomads for help?" Dartah suggested pointing to the statue of Ang,

"They could search all over, and quickly to"

"Or Is it possible they entered the sprit portal? I've been in that place.. It's... Easy to get lost" Dartahs face went blank as he remembered his time exploring. He wiped his face for a moment trying to shake out of his own thoughts.

"Yea..Did you ask the air nomads?" He asked again with genuine concern.
