Skills: None

Personality:
  • Childish
  • Observant
  • Tenacious
  • Outspoken
  • Optimistic
  • Oblivious

History: Kimi Wu, born the youngest of the Wu children, used to live in the lap of luxury. Their parents, rich industrialists, were at the forefront of research and development for the United Earth Democratic States' military. All that Kimi, Mae and Tao saw of it, however, was that their parents spent little time with them and often showered them in gifts when they did. Kimi, who was younger and more used to this kind of treatment, adapted quickly and readily to the full attention of the mansion staff and her older siblings. Kimi and Mae spent much of their time playing, learning from private tutors, and practicing their earthbending with professional, personal instruction. At nights they would often stargaze together on the roof. Kimi's brother Tao took her on nature outings in the daytime, and while she didn't much understand a lot of the things he tried to teach her, she did enjoy the time with her brother.

All good things, though, come to an end. When civil war broke out, the Wu family was on the old government's side. It wasn't long until their parents were being hunted by the defectors. When Kimi was five, the siblings were removed from her home at the order of their parents. Taken into hiding with a few of the family's most trusted servants to live in the family's old cottage in the woodlands, the kids resided there for five years undisturbed. It wasn't until they had to make a trip back into the city for supplies that they were attacked again, the three of them ambushed in a dark alley by some street thugs looking for a quick source of cash. Kimi ran further back into the alley while Mae and Tao attempted to hold them off, but the fifteen year old's bending was not nearly as good at the thugs' was, and Tao couldn't bend at all. Tao lost his arm, and Mae was held at knife point, while they ordered Kimi to give them any valuables she had. Instead, Kimi broke down crying.

They killed Mae right in front of her. Filled with fear for her own life, Kimi awoke a deeper part of herself, blasting the thugs from the alleyway with airbending. The thugs took off in fear of her power, and Kimi ran for the paramedics. When the police asked for her statement, she told them what the thugs did and that she airbended them away. Her claims, backed by several witnesses, warranted being tested by the White Lotus. Kimi was revealed to be the next Avatar, and quickly taken in by the Order to the closest compound for training, with little time for grieving over her sister.

Bio: Orphaned during Kuvira's attempted invasion of Republic City, Yasuko had tough early life in an orphanage barely getting by with little support from the government. Yet at age ten, she was adopted by the dream person any orphan would want, Korra and Asami, the avatar and her rich industrialist partner. Both heroes, children like Yasuko would hear an admire for afar. It was better than one could dream off, though both parents were busy with there respective careers, they were loving and attentive when they could. In addition, there was a whole extended family and friend like the Tenzin family, the Biefongs and Mako and Boilin.

However as time went and crysises seemed to build up. Yasuko saw less and less of Korra, straining there relationship especially as Korra promised time after time to train Yasuko in water bending. They only managed to train a handful of times and Yasuko refused to learn from anyone else meaning her bending skills were underdeveloped. Despite this straining relationship, korra disappearance and later confirmation of her death due to the arrival of the reveal of the new avatar, affected Yasuko deeply.

This combined with the rise of the Air Protectorate, which she disapproved off greatly, made her leave Republic City for the White Lotus. She aimed to find the avatar be the avatar guide and protector as best as could. She would not lose her mother again.

Everyone knows the Wu family, especially now given recent events as rumors circulate. However before the most recent events they were known as the sole proprietors of the future in military technology. With brilliant minds at the forefront of their company, the advancements made were enough to draw in the eyes of the government. The United Earth Democratic States took their industrial empire and turned it over for as much as possible, showering the Wu's in riches, but leaving their parents mostly absent for Tao's childhood. Tao lived day by day in their giant estate, the only break from monotony being the lessons from teachers around the kingdom brought in for his education in varying subjects.

Tao found his favorite subject when one of his teachers, Xungyang, came to their home on an Eel Hound. The creature was amazing to Tao, as was the many more Xungyang would teach him about. He was only supposed to stay for a few months, teaching of the life around the kingdoms and would move on to the next place willing to fund his research. The Wu's financed Xungyang throughout Tao, Mae, and Kimi's education, allowing the old master to settle into their home as a permanent teacher. In his time he brought life to their gardens, a mini-ecosystem in their estate that he used to show Tao the beauty of nature. Beyond that he also taught the uses of nature, hunting and fishing, but always with the return of respecting the land for the gift it gives.. Xungyang was also an earthbender, but he made Tao believe in his ability despite being a non-bender. They learned archery together, an effort that made a lasting imprint as Tao took it up as his weapon of choice. With this skill and the reinforcement of Xungyang Tao believed he could rival a bender if given the chance.

The first sibling to join him was Mae, born five years younger, and she flipped his world upside down. Usually the king of the household, Tao now had to share it with Mae, which at first was quite jarring. Servants were slower to him, the little time his parents had for them was spent with Mae, and soon her own tutors were being brought in. However with age Tao began to enjoy Mae's company, finding a mutual love in the sky. Tao remembers the first night she climbed up to the roof, dead set on joining him in his hideaway that night. She nearly fell, but Tao got her up with a saving hand. She worked so hard to join him that Tao indulged her for a few minutes, but soon the two did this almost every night. Lessons they could share they did, time outdoors was always together, and the two became inseparable; Tao's little shadow. By the time he was ten another sibling was on its way, but this time he couldn't wait to take her under his wing.

While the three didn't much leave the estate, given anything they needed was brought in, the addition of Kimi made the mansion feel new. Mae took over from Tao, her love for the sky passing Tao and the stars were her favorite thing to show Kimi. Naming the constellations for her, watching the phases of the moon as they passed with each day, and occasionally the two would wake Tao up to tell of a shooting star they saw. In the day Tao took Kimi around their large estate, picking wild berries as they listened to the forest sing to them. On some special occasions Tao would take the girls out of their estate, far out into the woods in their summer cottage. The three would spend nights camped out by the lake, using the night sky as their tent and the soft grass as their beds. Those nights are some of Tao's fondest memories.

The civil war came swiftly, and while the dissenters were ready, most of the nobles were not. The estate was unready for the approaching anarchist, their trusted servants taking them away to their mostly unused summer home. Mae was carrying Kimi when they left for their carriage, being rushed through the front gates as the sounds of violence made it closer to their home. Their servants pulled them into the vehicle, all the supplies they could carry being thrown in behind them, with the notion their parents and teachers would follow soon after. Tao had gone back to help a servant up, rushing her away from the belongings she'd dropped in her hurry. He was the last one in the carriage, hands barely able to grab the vehicle before it pulled away. Between the hot wind filled with smoke and dust Tao was able to look to their estate, watching as the defectors rushed the second carriage. It was toppled quickly, the open gates and few guards little resistance as the revolt waved over them.

Five years tucked away in the safety of the woods with just a handful of servants. The time wasn't all bad, despite the civil war being fought, they were mostly left alone. A few close calls with a rebel supply line, a tracker coming close to their home, and sometimes the wildlife was their biggest fight; Tao's got a scar from a Catgator to prove that. However their supplies did dwindle, even with the supplementing Tao did with the fauna and flora around them, they still had to make a journey back into the city. Tao led the girls in, knowing the danger of going in, but too protective to leave them at the house without him. The authorities had made their presence in the city since the attack, however the city was still crawling with looters and criminals using the guise of revolution to do nefarious deeds.

Thugs, a group around the age of Tao, cornered them. An alleyway, a difficult wall to climb or going through them. Tao warned them to stay back, that he was armed. The need to defend his sisters and belief in his own skill made him stand tall against the group. One of them tried their luck and was met with an arrow in the shoulder, falling back against the ground. The collapsible bow had given him the element of surprise, but none of the rest of his quiver reached their mark. The 'boss' walked forward, lifting a piece of metal off his chest and sending it towards Tao. The arrows did little to stop it's momentum, the outstretched arms in surprise gave way as the metal cleave through his shoulder. Mae took up the fight, but the difference in bending was too much. An unconscious and bleeding out Tao, Mae at knifepoint, and Kimi scared out of her mind. Tao only heard second hand of the next part, but he pieced it together when he came too in the hands of the remaining authorities.

The loss of Mae was debilitating for Tao, as well as the loss of his arm, but Tao wasn't given much time to mourn. The last bit of shock was his sister being the avatar. Given the loss of Korra and instability of the world, the White Lotus were on the search for the next reincarnation of the avatar. This meant her journey would need to begin soon if she were to master the elements and garner the right experience to help the world. The White Lotus explained everything to Tao as he woke up, rushing him through the death of his sister and loss of his arm in favor of the avatar. Tao still hasn't fully recovered from either loss, but understands the situation. Avatar Kimi was needed, and Tao would follow her where ever she had to go.
