I have created an alternate universe of Avatar: The Last Airbender wherein Aang died instead of being frozen and the Avatar after him was captured and brainwashed by the Fire Nation to help conquer the world. In this timeline, the Phoenix Kingdom not only exists, but has existed for decades. In this world, the Fire Nation won. Rebellions were stomped out, the last army in the world belonged to the Fire Nation and the Phoenix King ruled over all...
...that is, until now. The death of the previous Avatar, due to old age, has inspired new faith in the world as she was the only reason the Fire Kingdom penetrated Ba Sing Se and marched North to conquer the Northern Water Tribes. A secret rebel cause, known as The Rising Tide, has been in waiting, holding their tongues and forces until an opportune moment like this.
This world is vastly different from that of the original Avatar. The genocide of the Air Nomads was not completed, as Aang died it could occur. There is a third Water Tribe known as the Colonies that were given land in the Northern Earth Kingdom. Female Waterbenders are now far more prevalent and the Airbenders still exist. The entire world is under the thumb of the Phoenix Kingdom, or so it is believed. This world is darker. It is harsher. Even the spirits seek to assist humanity in overthrowing the Phoenix Kingdom for its atrocities. The question is: can it be done?
I'm looking for people interested in a detailed Avatar: The Last Bender roleplay. Note that this is NOT going to include elements of Legend of Korra, so no shock gloves, no metal robots and no radio announcers. I'm going to also note this right now in the Interest Check that I am highly reluctant to any form of bloodbending or metalbending, so if that's your thing, this probably won't be the roleplay for you. To everyone else, I'm simply looking for a show of hands of who is interested in this endeavor. I generally aim for 4-5 day posting schedules, detailed character sheets and a nice level of integration with the Overview. To begin, all I need is a group of 4-5 to start with.
