During the last couple of weeks, I've run into the same "problem" quite regularly: While I could usually have rpn run in the background for several hours without being logged out, I tend to be signed out after rather short periods of time right now, sometimes even in the midst of typing a post. While you can work around that quite easily, I wanted to ask if this is a site feature, or, if not, if there is a way to avoid being signed out regularly. The whole notification system is rather pointless if you have to log in every fifteen minutes anyway to make sure it's working...

(My first bet was on my internet connection to fail me - but other programs do not have similar issues, and I can have a youtube-playlist run for hours without a single disruption)

I don't know if it is a feature or not but I've noticed that many sites that use SSL stop working if internet connection is interrupted for a couple of seconds. Youtube doesn't have the same problem though as it preloads songs while playing them and is able to resume preloading even after connection has been interrupted and regained.

That's a good point - certainly makes a difference. Then again, I can't remember having the same issues right after the update - and my internet connection shouldn't have become that much worse all of the sudden.

When you sign in, are you selecting the 'Remember Me' option?  This option does not necessarily autofill passwords and usernames in the login form, but it should actually keep you logged in on the site for an indefinite amount of time (until you physically log out).

I usually don't do that - though now that you say it, that'd probably be the first thing to try out. Thanks for the advice, I'll see if it works out :)

For me, whenever I use incognito to sign in, it signs me out after a while. If you're not using incognito, then ignore this.
