Chepi couldn't help the smile that stretched across her features. Kitchi always made an impression on people, whether through his kindness or skills, so it was no surprise that their teacher remembered him. It was a relief that Ms. Sylvia was so friendly; once a shaman from another village had tried to mentor her and Kitchi during his stay, but his combative attitude had made it impossible. Settling down in a seat so that she wasn't in the way, Chepi sat and listened attentively to the teacher as she talked. While she had experience with reading the memories left behind in places, albeit not clearly, things like 'reading auras' was new. The way the teacher was describing it, auras were the spiritual energy that surrounded a person. While she was good at reading people, Chepi wouldn't attest that to her gift; it was more of a intuition thing than a spiritual one. This, was exactly why she wanted to come study at Augurium. The shaman had taught Chepi and Kitchi so much during their time in the village, but even he did not know everything there was to know about their powers. There was so much more to her abilities than she knew, and she wanted to learn every bit of it.
Despite her eagerness, Chepi felt a moment of panic as she felt like she was suddenly ejected from reality. Her surroundings were dark and everything felt off; like as if she was in a dream. It was similar to the feeling she'd get when trying to see into the memories that were left behind except cranked up to the max. Concentrating on herself, Chepi listened to the teacher as she gathered herself again. My truest form? There were so many things that could represent her as a spirit, but for some reason all she could hear was Kitchi's voice calling her his fairy. Just like that, that was all she could think about. Her home. Her people. Her husband. A hand stretched out before her; her hand. Blinking with eyes she didn't have a moment ago, her hands delicately ran over herself. She felt normal, and didn't seem to have anything extra like her teacher's horns. All ten fingers and all ten toes are accounted for. Gazing down at herself, her eyes widened. She was wearing the dress she wore on her wedding day. Reaching up, she felt flowers and jewelry in her hair. Breathing out a laugh, she lifted up dress a bit to examine her thigh. Still there... A small scar that she'd gotten during a hunt a few months after her wedding still marked her skin. It made sense, her experiences and memories would all come together to make up who she truly was. She wasn't sure why, but still being herself as a spirit brought Chepi a ridiculous amount of joy. Living in Terra Augurium, as much as she's enjoyed it, had made her feel like she was losing herself. I suppose this means that despite all these changes, I've remained true to myself. The thought alone brought her comfort and reinforced her nerve.
