Attack On Titan: Resurgence

Three Thousand Club
Alright everyone!

Here's where we will conduct all conversation related to the RP.

Please do not post in any other threads, thank you!

So I may have seen you viewing this thread on your profile and I may be over 1000% down. It might take me a little bit to come up with a good CS for this though. I'm definitely interested in being a Titan Shifter as well though, so I'll try to get one up as quick as possible.

@Kyero

Is it okay for a character to use anti-personnel ODM gear (with the expendable guns rather than swords) or do you think that the Survey Corps wouldn't allow its use because of the greater efficiency of regular gear in killing Titans?

Actually, I don't see a reason not to make a shift in operational function for that gear.

The anti-personnel ODM gear was developed by the military police to be used against the Survey Corps in the manga/anime, but since this isn't the manga/anime, I think I've found a way to incorporate it.

That gear is useless against Titans, but not all of humanity is going to be friendly. The settlement The Walls have found and now communicate/trade with is friendly, but other settlements and soon to be discovered outposts where survivors dwell may not be so friendly. In that instance, those who use normal ODM gear to battle Titans would have no true defense except to run and hope not to get shot in the back.

So I think a secondary system within the Survey Corps is in order. Perhaps a back-up unit of some kind which keeps an eye on the Titan fighters and protects them from the future attacks of crazed or simply hostile human forces and corrupt military police?

What do you think? Would you mind helping me create this secondary system within the Corps?

Awesome, I'll definitely give you a hand.

I think it would certainly make sense for the Corps to have the capability to fight humans. Maybe each squad could have 1 or 2 members armed with something similar to the Military Police Anti Personnel gear (something small, suited for urban warfare with a ranged capacity. Perhaps they could carry a brace of pistols for rapid firing, or a rifle for use when out of their ODM gear). These fighters would have to work closely with the Titan killers I think, otherwise they'd be defenseless. They could tag-team with comrades and act as decoys, distracting Titans so that they are easier to dispatch or shooting their eyes to temporarily blind them. The numbers of antipersonnel would have to be small as Titans are still the primary threat beyond the wall, and it would be an incredibly dangerous job going up against Titans with no defense aside from your comrades, but I reckon they'd be necessary.

In this case, the character I'm making atm will be an anti-personnel fighter. The role suits her I think, and it rounds off another facet of the team.

Very well. Then that's how we'll operate.

I'll add that into the mechanics of the Survey Corps real soon, hopefully within the next twenty minutes or so depending on how long it takes me to write everything.

I'm still mulling over a character. But a character like this would be interesting. So I'd totally interested in creating an anti personnel character.

Okay, so here's the deal!

The Survey Corps is divided into two halves: Titan Slayers and AP-Specialists (Anti-Personnel Specialists).

The division of labor is a proven success in the time shortly before the Titan's disappearance, but since their disappearance humanity has begun to question the very existence of the Survey Corps, making them looked down upon and scorned as a waste of money and resources by the Rulers of the Wall. Gives an interesting dynamic to the whole thing, so with luck this will turn into quite the interesting RP!

I'm looking forward to it!

What type of weaponry would they use? Like more in-depth? Would they have anything akin to batons?

I'd have thought that they'd have the standard AP ODM Gear, plus some sort of longer firearm for use on foot and a knife. At least, that's what I've equipped my character with. She's going to be good at wetwork, but largely hopeless when faced with a Titan. Risk vs Reward.

Thank you. That was informative lol.

I've only watched the anime so I had no knowledge of the AP ODM

Something like this?

Instead of swords there are high-caliber flintlock pistols, and the gear is slightly different in appearance, favoring light weight/maneuverability over long range/long distance gear.
Okay, so Hellkite, after reviewing your profile I have two things to say about it:

1) I like her. As a character, she doesn't need to be changed. However...

2) Her personality is short 1 paragraph, and the paragraphs in her bio with the exception of one of them are too short (7 sentences each minimum).

I will have a large list of questions in the "Mechanics" page soon to help you reconstruct and add to those sections, so don't worry too much about it. Once I have that posted filling her personality and bio sections should be a simple matter.

I hope you understand.

No problem, I'll go back over tonight and make the necessary adjustments :)

Cool cool.

Alright, well we'll get the RP going very soon. I want to see if I can find at least one more person before we start.

Which reminds me, I still need to make the adjustments to my character :o

Updated my CS, filled it out a bit. Ended up changing a fair amount, so Victoria's background and a bit of her personality has changed.
