This.. was also not quite what he had expected the day to be like.
He had definitely expected a training exercise of some sort; had been told by his parent to prepare for one, even. It wasn’t as if these type of schools were just going to allow every kid with any old power to come through and become powerful, after all. This big exam was all anyone was talking about, but what could a piece of paper really tell these people about their powers? Anyone could write, ‘I can use my powers well,’ but it was another thing to actually prove it. Never once taking his eyes off of the man ahead of him, Zephyr watched the scene unfold, his blue orbs lit with a mixture of childlike awe and excitement. He’d expected someone to show them their powers and then ask for everyone else to show off theirs. What he hadn’t expected was a real, live fight to break out! He wasn’t a big fighter, never had been, but he wasn’t one to often turn down the opportunity to show off his beloved powers. However, it seemed like he wasn’t the only one who had something to prove.
It was actually interesting to see some of the students try to rush the person at the front as if they couldn’t tell how clearly powerful he was. Did they expect the school to pick some weak person to come up and demonstrate their powers or something? Shaking his head to himself, Zephyr gave a quiet scoff under his breath. These students probably weren’t that impressive in the first place, if they had to run at the person. True power was being able to win without ever having to lift a finger, yet here they were trying to throw punches and chairs. It was at this point that he realized that the steps he had previously taken backwards weren’t quite far enough and, when the confrontation got a little too close to him for his liking, he once again felt the wind kick up beneath his feet, sending him approximately fifty feet away from where he had originally began. He was still very close, he knew that much, but at least this way it was unlikely that he’d end up getting hurt from a blow that wasn’t even meant for him in the first place.
He heard the sound of something hitting the ground beside him, but was too enthralled in watching another one of the students take a swing at the man.. and sorely regret the decision almost immediately. With a small smirk quirking his lips upward, Zephyr turned his head to the side to peer down at what he had believed to be a student taking cover on the ground, hoping that there’d be someone there that he could share the small joke with. However, instead of meeting the gaze of a laughing person, he found himself staring down at a motionless body. Now was not the time to sleep. Holding his fingers out a few inches from his body in the direction of the person, he watched as the wind gave a quick burst across their face- rustling their hair but causing no reaction. “Uh,” he voiced, taking a look around. It was only then that he noticed all of the other people lying around him; all motionless, some with their eyes closed, some gazing absently into nothingness, and others frantically looking around. “Oh..” He was struck with a sudden sense of uneasiness. This was a lot more serious than he had thought.. people were actually killing each other to have a spot at this school! “I do not want to be here that bad,” he told the air. Taking a quick look back at the scene he had been watching before, he decided that he may as well just leave before someone took the opportunity to try and stab him or something. He’d already been accepted, but he was sure they’d just take the offer back if he left. So with that thought in mind, he turned on his heels and let the wind pool beneath his feet; sending him off in a launch and propelling him forward as he ran- far away from that wild mess and towards what he hoped was a building that would let him in.
