Semi-Advanced Fantasy
I’ll be first to admit, I am not as educated on China as I am on Japan however I am learning. I am reading books and yes, watching c-dramas lol but I feel like this is the right way to go with this idea.
Chinese Lord x Assassin
My character is sent to assassinate the young lord of (or whatever you want to call the land you rule) however he is surprised by the man's will and strength, having thought the lord would be weak and submissive, the two fight and squabble till the assassin is finally restrained by the lord's guards (or could be home again whatever). After a night in the dungeon, the Chinese lord calls for the assassin and informs him instead of being sentenced to death he would like the other to be his personal bodyguard and serve him. I imagine maybe some silly attempts to escape that fail due to some crazy guards or something. I want to have fun with this plot, not too serious like the other two but still since he is an assassin the Chinese lord is also trying to get him to spill the beans on where he comes from. This will be set in feudal China.
I can’t be a dom btw. I’m a total brat but not a dom.
Character
Name: Duyi Zhang
Mission: Assassinate the young lord
Face claim: Ma Hao Dong
独一 - Dú yī- only, unique
張 - Zhāng - to draw a bow, archer
Personality
•Snarky- Has the bad habit of speaking before thinking and giving quick quips in the middle of battles.
•Confident- Duyi follows his instincts more than thinking things through. If his body tells him there is an opening he will take it. Duyi, while he may have the bad habit of getting himself into trouble and could be called cocky, is great at getting himself out of trouble.
•Curious- He is always trying to learn something new, whether that is reading a book or practicing a new move, Duyi wants to be skilled in all fields.
Likes:
•Foxes- Duyi finds the creature's habits relatable.
•Clothing/patterns- Surprisingly, Duyi finds interest in clothing and patterns/fabrics. Even if he is an assassin, Duyi picks out his clothes very carefully always making sure to look his best.
•Close combat- You would think an assassin would favor stealth and fighting tools that could be used from far away, but not Duyi. This assassin finds a thrill in battling up close despite his last name.
Dislikes:
•The Cold- More specifically, Duyi hates the cold weather. While yes Duyi prefers to fight up close there is still a lot of standing around when waiting for the victims to show themselves.
•Spicy Foods- This young assassin does not have a high spice tolerance to his annoyance.
•Bugs- Not much explanation other than they are creepy crawlies that can sneak up on him. He particularly hates when one decides to climb on him when he needs to be extra still while in a tree or behind a bush.
Background:
Duyi Zhang used to be a regular commoner, he lived just a little outside of the capital with his parents. They owned a small part of property and managed to make it as farmers while his dad was also a blacksmith. However, all it took was one unlucky night and his life would be turned upside down. An unfortunate burglary accident and his parents met their untimely end. Call it a strike of luck or a poor decision from the men to leave the nine-year-old alive but Duyi pulled himself together and swore revenge. It took the child a while to track down the three, and maybe the universe decided to give him the advantage, but the three were found outside heavily drunk. It wasn't hard at all to kill them with one of their broken glass bottles but it did the job. Making his escape, Duyi found himself confronted by a fellow who had witnessed what he had done. Instead of turning him into authorities, the man took him in on the grounds he would train and hone his skills to become a killer.
