-The Godly Realm-
Asgard is a large planetary body that serves as home to the Norse gods such as Thor and Odin. It exists in another dimensional plane and is about the size of the United States. It is a round mass that has a top surface with a mystical gravitational pull used to keep the citizens and their cities from floating into the void. The matter on Asgard is also denser and more durable than the matter on Earth. There is an unknown force that keeps the surfaces of Asgard from eroding and from allowing its bodies of water from drifting off into space. Asgard has regular intervals of day and night, with consistently shifting seasons similar to earth.
The sheer vastness of the realm is covered in all kinds of magnificent structures, from large golden cities, expansive forests and wooded areas, little towns spread out across the realm, and smaller locations that have yet to be discovered. Beyond the restrictions of man's modern world, it is a realm positively brimming with clashing ideologies and limitless boundaries of magic, battle and battle. Factions and lesser rulers beneath the reigning king of Asgard are spread throughout the realm itself, and as the sound of endless plights resonate through this world's depths once more, the realm has erupted back into motion.
According to Asgardian legend, in the beginning there was nothing, but in time two worlds came into being on opposite sides of the void. The one to the north was named Niflheim, a world of clouds and shadows in whose center surged the fountain Hvergelmir, from which flowed twelve rivers of ice. The one to the south was named Musphelheim, which teemed with rivers of fire. Eventually the warm air from the south carved out the frost giant Ymir from the ice in the north. Ymir became the father of all the giants, and his cow Auoumbla licked out of the ice the first Asgardian, Buri.
Buri had a son named Borr, who married the giantess Bestla. Borr and Bestla had three sons named Odin, Vili, and Ve, who were known as the Aesir. Odin and his brothers grew to hate the giants and slew Ymir, and his blood formed a great sea. Odin and his brothers then raised Ymir's body from the sea and created Midgard between Niflheim and Muspelheim. With Ymir's bones they created mountains, and with his hair they created trees. They then raised Ymir's skull upon four pillars to create the heavens. Within the skull contained sparks from Muspelheim, which became the sun, moon, and stars. When Midgard was complete, Odin and his brothers created a home for themselves above it called Asgard. Between the two worlds they stretched a rainbow bridge and called it Bifrost.
-The Asgardian Gods-
The Asgardian Gods, or the Aesir, are a large selection of extra-dimensional humanoids with additional physical and mystical properties. They are immortal in the sense that they possess an unlimited lifespan so long as they aren't killed, with their physical features only developing elderly features should the individual him/herself chose.
They are individuals boasting bodily tissue that is denser than that of a human being, giving them slightly increased weight and immense physical abilities (with their physical abilities varying based upon training or mystical enhancements). This is combined with an accelerated metabolism that provides enormous stamina and reserves of energy, as well as the capacity to heal rapidly from wounds and great resistance to disease. Their superhuman attributes extend to strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, durability, and on occasions, stamina.
-Rules and Information-
Lore/Locations: Because this roleplay is loosely based off of Norse Mythology/Marvel's Asgard (As can be seen with certain aspects of the overview), I give roleplayers the ability to explore a little bit with stuff like creating their own little locations (perhaps villages or small towns).
No Godmodding - God Modding is when you're character automatically succeeds at something another character would have a reasonable chance of preventing. Nothing automatically succeeds at the expense of something that belongs to someone else.
No Auto-Hits - This is when someone RP's that their attacks hit another player, without that players consent. Everyone has control over their character. You can't take that away and say something automatically hits.
No Metagaming - Metagaming, as it stands, is when a character suddenly possesses knowledge of something that they would otherwise have no logical way to know about, such as another character's weakness, or where something is hidden, etc. Metagaming can become storybreaking and blatantly disrespectful to certain character's when undertaken, and is prohibited for the good of this roleplay.
Selling - No-Selling is when you RP that all of another persons actions and attacks fail against you. This one is subject to a reasonable standard. Some characters are simple incapable of hurting others due to the powers involved, and it isn't required for you to take EVERY single hit that someone throws at you. However, remember, causing everything they do to fail without exception isn't fun RP, and it's against the rules.
No Controlling Others (Without OOC Permission) - This does not, and should not, require much explanation. Other peoples characters belong to them, they decide what happens. Not you. Please be respectful of what belongs to other people. If you want to control someone else's character, get their permission first. This includes if your character has some sort of mental influence ability.
Power Levels - Depending on what powers, magical abilities, artifacts, or whatever else thing that your character possesses, chances are they might be a bit on the powerful side. Which is fine, to an extent. Having powerful characters isn't altogether a bad thing, but to keep things in order, straight up world-destroying characters and above are not allowed at this given moment in time, not without permission from me.
Destruction - Destruction on a minor to moderate scale isn't prohibited. A few structures here and there is fine, but I do not want utter and large scale destruction. This is a huge sandbox kind of roleplay, but at the same time, it possesses a number of story elements and plotlines (To be discovered as the RP continues). And the locations are important to the story, remember that.
NPCS - I don't mind roleplayers controlling NPC's alongside me, such as average asgardians, guards, and other minor NPC's. However, characters apart of the pantheon (such as Thor, Loki, Odin, etc) are solely controlled by me unless permission is requested.
Profanity/Romance - Try to keep profanity to a minimum, and if used, censor it with symbols such as *** or whatever you can think of. As well, in regards to romance, of course it's allowed! Just don't take it too far, fade to black when necessary.
Greatest Rule - All the above rules reasonably apply. They are not meant to thoroughly restrict RP, only to prevent some of the excesses that ruin the RP experience for everyone.
Secret Rule - Read all the rules? Great! Prove it by giving this overview dem hype cookies and likes.
