Fantasy Asaranthia

SirDerpingtonIV

A Campfire at the End of Time
The realm of Asaranthia has been locked in war for far too long now. A Dark Magi, Xi, has seized his chance, and with his legion of skeletons and dark creatures, plans to submerge the world into darkness. Nations and heroes of all different races and factions united to stand against the Dark Magi, but, as time told, it was in vain. In present day, many nations have been devoured, many heroes slain in battle. Xi's army keeps marching, and the Alliance is increasingly desperate. A rumor begins spreading, of an artifact powerful enough to allow its wielder to smite down Xi's dark minions with ease. An artifact that would allow its wielder to mow down entire armies, and level entire cities. The Alliance has dispatched its best heroes, magi, warriors, thieves, assassins, etc to retrieve the Artifact, before Xi's forces do.

RACES:

ALLIANCE:

Human: The most numerous of Asaranthia, the humans have created large and imposing kingdoms, who were always struggling for power over one another. They came up with the Alliance, and invited the other races and nations in. The average human has a lifespan of 60 years, max being 100. They generally stand from 5 to 6 feet. There isn't much special about the humans. They have very few magic users.

((I don't need a picture here. You know what humans look like.))

Quenci Katal:

The Quenci Katal are a race of reptillian creatures, living in the Jaranthi jungles of southern Asaranthia. They generally stand from 7 to 8 feet tall when fully matured. An average lifespan is around 100 years, but can go up to 170. They build vast temples and ziggarauts, dedicated to magic, the sun, hunting, war etc. Their society is split into sects. The Purple Sect being that of Royalty, the Orange Sect of the Warrior, The Cyan Sect of the Magi, the Green of the Hunter, Red of the Farmer, Pink of the Priest, and then the Rainbow Cast, which is basically anyone else.

The Quneci Katal has many subspecies, (So any Lizardman image will work, really.)

Sc3-lizardman-01.jpg

Golems: The races of the nomadic earth creatures, brought to life by an ancient and unknown magic. They have no form of government, as they travel in nothing larger than a family at most times. They are fewest in number, but are a force to be reckoned with. The average Golem is normally 10-14 feet tall, and has a lifespan estimated at 400, max being 1000. The Golems are a peace loving people, although rather reclusive. Golems can be made of any material, ((Except indestructible stuff, that's just stupid.))

Although their appearances vary for whatever material they are, a Stone Golem looks like this, to give you a general idea.

500px-Golem.jpg

Centari:

The Centari is basically a Centaur. They live in large Clans on the Great Steppes in the midst of Asaranthia. They are ruled by their Khan. Incredibly territorial, and protective of their kin, the Centari do not like outsiders much. Generally around 8 feet tall, and 10 feet long. They have a lifespan of 50 years, max being 90. Typical colors of their horse body are brown and black, white symbolizing nobility. Their human appearances are mostly Asian. Of all sentient races, (That don't fly,) they are the fastest.

centaur_by_SnowSkadi.jpg

Elvyn: The race of human-like beings known as the Elvyn, are your standard elves. They are on average, taller and slimmer than humans, more graceful, more skilled at magic, and just more good looking. Easily pointed out by their fair skin and pointed ears. Elves are normally 5-7 feet, and have a lifespan of 70 years, but can be up to 120 years. They are in touch with nature, and vow to protect it. They live in the Great Alswynon Forests. The Elvyn specialize in Archery.

Kazad: Dwarves. The Kazad are stubborn, loyal, and rarely forgive, and practically always hold grudges. They live in great underground cities, or cities high in the mountains. Dwarves are the best smiths and architects. Dwarves are normally around 4 to 4.5 feet tall. Their life spans are usually 80, but can be up to 130. Their bodies are short and broad, but they are rather strong for their size. They normally reside in the Kazad Mountains, or the GreyStone Mountains. And of course, they have big bears, which they prize.

dwarven_warrior_by_mictones-d577r2f.jpg

Orcs: The Orcs are considered by most to be brutal savages, and for the most part, this is true. The Orcs are fierce fighters, and enjoy pillaging, raiding, and combat. They rarely retreat, willingly sacrificing their lives just to kill a few more foes. On average, they stand 6-7 feet, and have green/brown skin. Their average lifespan is 40-70 years. They typically reside in the Origrar Wastes.

ogre-by-rob-joseph.jpg

Ielyth: Composed of many different subspecies, the Ielyth are simply animal/people. Their animal features can vary from a Wolf's tail or ears, to looking like a Khajiit. Their animal characteristics can come from any animal. Wolf, Eagle, Cat, snake, Owl, Bear, etc. They can be any size from 4 to 8 feet tall, and their lifespans are 35-100 years.

Aethyeon: They are winged humans, with pale skin, and pointed ears, much like the elves. They are considered beautiful beyond compare, and they love to just rub that in. The Aethyeon are mostly just snobby assholes to the other races, but realize that even they are threatened by Xi. They reside in the Kingdom Of the Clouds, Ilyrn. They are excellent magic users, and can fly. They lack numbers. They are generally 6 foot tall, but can be up to 9. Their wingspan is generally 10-15 feet, and their wings are either white, or a golden color. They are considered immortal by most, but die at exactly 1000 years of age.

640x512_19527_Selesius_2d_fantasy_angel_warrior_girl_woman_picture_image_digital_art.jpg

Naer: Naers' are basically a mix of nymphs and faeries, some may have more fish-like qualities while others possess faerie-like qualities. They can be found by small bodies of water such as ponds, streams, and some bays. They usually have quite tiny, slender frames with a maximum height of 5 ft. Their lifespan is usually 90, but can be up to 300, for the most powerful of Naer.

((This species was created and suggested by Yannie))

image-jpg.73532

Anubi: The Anubi are a dog-like race, with brown/grey/black skin, long pointed ears that normally stick upwards, normally stand at 6 feet tall, and can live from 90-110 years. They are ruled by the Pharaoh, and have a particular hatred against the Ranan. They practice a unique kind of magic, allowing them to create beings known as the Sand Warriors, aslong as they have enough sand, and enough magical energy. Sand Warriors are like Golems, but are much more fragile, able to be killed with a single swing or arrow.

2399643-anubis2.jpg

Sand%20Warrior.jpg

Ranan: The Ranan are a bird like species, with feathers of brown, grey, black, white, a sand like color, etc. They are ruled by The Sun Speaker, a man who speaks directly to the Sun for guidance. He leads the Ranan politically, millitarily, and religiously. It is of course, no suprise, that the Ranan worship the sun. (PRAISE THE SUUUUUUUUUUN!) They are normally 6-7 feet tall, and can live from 40-80 years. They despise the Anubi. The only magic they can preform, is a powerful light magic, allowing them to harness the power of the sun to heal, temporarily blind, and just fire beams of sun laser stuff at people.

Wyrms:

Wyrms are your typical 2-4 winged flying lizard. They can breathe fire, ice, and sometimes (Very Rarely) Lightning. They are loyal to beings who accept them and protect them. Males Tend to be Larger than the Females, but the Females more brightly colored. They stand From 10 feet at the shoulder, to about 20 feet at the shoulder. They are usually solitary and only group for mating or young. The exception to these rules are the pygmy wyrms. They can stand at an inch from the shoulder to about the size of a dove. They travel in groups of three or six, and are more curious and gentle than their larger cousins.

XI'S FORCES:

The Undead: Beings from any race, in any stage of decay. They were dead before, now brought back to life, and twisted and enslaved by Xi. Most of them are little more than brittle cannon fodder, but some are rather powerful. The Undead are alive as long as Xi's magic holds them, and can be whatever size as the race they once were.

skeleton_warrior_by_kingkostas-d64i78k.jpg

Abominations: Because Xi is seriously fucked up, he likes making a bunch of wierd and ugly shit to terrorize his foes. Abominations do precisely that. They can be in any form, and can even be made from animals mended together. They can be any size, max is 20 feet tall.
42220_1235019600.jpg

Gargoyles: Beasts summoned from the Void, the Gargoyles are used to dominate the skies, and to rain terror on enemies below. They generally have a wingspan of 9 feet, and are 5 feet tall. They have a 3 foot long tail. It is unknown how long they live, but they aren't immortal. They can fly.

2819114-gargoyle_by_leopardsnow_d5q87lg.jpg

Dark Elvyn: They are exactly like their lighter brothers, except they are evil. xD Their skin is mostly a grey color, but some can be pitch black. Their eyes are either red or purple, and their hair is always black. They take delight in torture, and pain. They enslave or kill all who they capture. They are Xi's elite shock troopers.

dark_elves_black_guard_by_diegogisbertllorens-d5o45tx.jpg

Wraith: Hailing from the Void, the Wraith is a far lesser version of Xi. They are necromancers, and they control the undead of Xi's armies. They have VERY little independance, but the higher Xi trusts them, the more they have. Some even have free wills, but that's rather rare. They are generally 7-8 feet. They maintain an almost non-existant physical form, making them incredibly resistant to physical attacks. However, magical attacks are incredibly dangerous against them, especially Fire or Sun magic. They are immortal.

Name: Alyynes (Aaranes) Sarn

Race: Golem

Gender: Male

Age: 100

Appearance
4ypejupu.jpg

Personality: Alyynes is smarter than the average golem. Like his whole race, he is peaceful. Although, he will attack if you provoke him. He would rather use words than fight. He will usually take a leader role in groups and show the way. Unlike other races, he is a thinker and will rather use his head than his weapons.

Strengths: Excellent at battle and peacemaking, intelligent, helpful.

Weaknesses: Gives bad people more chances, hates to battle, much less kill.

Weapons/armour: His right hand can turn into an axe, and his rocks are his armor.

Role: Warrior

Faction: The Alliance.

Backstory: When Alyynes was 50, he was thought to be 450. He was born into a peacemaking family. He is very intelligent for his age, after all, 100 is a young golem. He cares deeply for loved ones and will attack if someone hurts them. He was marveled at, because of his spikes. Like his whole family, he is made out of obsidian.

Other: Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Titans Curse.

((It's alright. This is mah first Rp I've created, and put everything onto one tab thing. xD Also, could you copy and paste your bio in the character sign up section? I need to delete the one here, so no one else gets confused.))
Anyone know how to update the RP?

Xi's Forces, Location: Deep in the Woods

A squadron of Xi's forces has been sent to retrieve some Elven mages for slaving purposes in the kingdom, they have already succeeded as 10 elven magi have been chained. Stripped of their attire and walking a bloody naked road, some protest but are brutally whipped with metal spiked whips by 2 twin ogres, both known as the Executioners. As for the women Magi it seems many of the soldiers had some fun with them before even chaining them... They remained quiet and walked in pain.

Xi's forces followed an eastward route after destroying the peaceful mage oriented village of La'sop they consisted of about 30 soldiers, but all particularly skilled, 15 dark elves covered the front and the back, keeping their vigilant eyes out for any spies or enemy forces. Of course sometimes their vision fails.
1 small human boy has spotted this squadron and has mounted his horse and ran off, spreading the word from whatever tavern he could find, to whatever person he could see. Although many would shrug him off; Although, some have listened. Will you be one of them?

The rest of the squadron consists of 5 undead that merely carry help with moving a certain carriage around... 9 heavily armored Ogres split between keeping an eye on the cage the undead are moving and on the new slaves, often doing unmentionable actions to the women and pissing on the wounds of the men and tossing horse feces at the ones who protest. Their orders were to bring them back alive, but the ogres knew that meant they could still hurt them. Right?

From within the cage being guarded and carried, a pair of 2 red eyes and sharp teeth stare out from within the cracks, simply asking for blood and chaos, it's teeth have chunks of gore and blood splattered all over them, the Abomination recedes into it's cage, and you can hear bones shattering and blood drips from within the cage, leaving a trail of blood!

What could you do with the trail? Follow it? Or ignore it, value your life due to the chance you might be killed?

The choice is yours

Delta

(My character)

Delta remained in the tavern, having heard of the news of the slavery act, he remains quiet and simply observes, he might follow either situation and watch, but he is unsure if it will suit his goals or needs. Although he finds something peculiar about that carriage the Slavery squadron has been escorting apparently...

Alyynes was was not in the tavern, but outside it. He was balled up to look like a rock. "Perhaps..." Alyynes thought when he heard about the slaves. He was a peaceful golem, but will use force. He decided to act. He went to the trail and was acting like a road block. He was ready and started thinking of some peace tactics. If they don't except, well, Xi will have news of his troops being squashed by a golem. He was ready for the executioners and the dark elves. Perhaps, Alyynes should use the peace-force tactic. He was thinking of plans.

Sent from... Eh, why bother?

Mor looks at her daily spoils of food before picking up a berry tart and eating it. She was about to get to steal a drink when she hears the cry of a human boy about slavery. She feels worried of the news, elfs were always being mad slaves for there looks but now more powerful elves were being taken. She looks around to see if anyone had taken the boys news as serious... many seemed not to. She huffs, human were a cowardly bunch, a Naer pond eh, she really didn't want to see a male Orc but she need to see and check out. Mor sighs before slipping on a very ragged dress and begins to make the trek to the pond.

It has been six months.

Dull, emerald-green eyes watched the bloody trail from several plants and trees afar, along with a bigger pair of chestnut-brown orbs. A distasteful frown was evident on Linette's lips. The sight of the weak women and corrupted elves altogether, and all of the familiar evils that were visible in that trail right now... they were enough for the Elvyn to know that she had to do something.

Since I woke up, it had been roughly half a year.

The human boy on his horse was right. All Xi's forces (or at least, that was what everyone else called the evil one) were easy for her to take. That was what she believed. But if that wasn't real, she wouldn't have survived from all the other several attacks she had waged on the countless other groups of Undead, Dark Elyvn, and Abominations. She was surely confident in her own abilities.

My memories return slowly... so does my mission.

For now, she decided not to charge--only observe and take as much as she could. It might cause too much of a commotion. There were many ways to assault this group. Maybe, as usual, stealth was the key. Silently, she motioned for Beat to lurk in the midst of nature with her, just to follow the evil troops. With her magic and connection with where she was hiding, there was no one that could hide right here, right now as greatly as she could.

@L u n a @Darkens

As Linette continues to follow the group of forces, unseen by the soldier's the beast stirred from within it's cage, it seemed to take notice to her sent, a pair of evil red eyes stared at her from the darkness of the cage. Grinning as if ready for his newest meal, she move and hide again before the guards take notice to the beast stirring up. One of the ogres lifted his weapon a bit and looked around.

The Xi forces came to a stop and shouted at each other, looking at the Golem with an odd look, a dark elf, guarded by 2 large heavily armored ogres came up to the golem and signaled him to step aside, the golems had their war hammers ready, you could see the dried blood and gore stuck on the small hooks of the hammer, almost as if it were a gigantic meat tenderizer.

Delta

Delta sat up from the tavern and headed out, his head remained hooded and his scimitar was sheathed at it's side. He looked around as he walked outside slowly, the boy's horse left tracks to follow back to the carriage, he didn't really want to fight, he was just interested in the abomination. As well as what it's abilities were, he wondered why the mages could not escape with magic, and why they brought the abomination along.

(You will all figure out the ability soon! It isn't good news for any magic users.))

Alyynes grumbled, "No I won't, so fuck off." "I will make a negotiation, let them go, and you won't die." Alyynes stayed in his spot. The golem seemed oddly hostile, perhaps because anger. He hated slavery. "You dark elves, you don't have a piece of mind. Xi will use you. He'll kill you. Want to try to kill me? Try, and Hell will come kill you. Let them go."

Ardghal watched the procession of dark elves, ogres, abomination and slaves get halted by a golem. The golem had placed itself as a sort of roadblock, and instead of attacking the golem like the foul beings would have if they had encountered a human, they had ordered it to move aside. They practiced caution as golems were known to be powerful beings and it was quite obvious that the weapons the elves and ogres wielded were not suited to blasting apart the thick hide of a golem. Nonetheless, numbers would overpower the golem is they all attacked at once, and there was the problem of that abomination.

Ardghal viewed all of this clearly from within a thick of tree branches high above them all. He had his signature Reaper's Cloak on, which made him fade away into the darkness within the branches so that none could detect his presence. Even his sound and scent were removed so the abomination could not detect his presence. Ardghal had used his incredible agility to leap from tree to tree without making nary a sound, as he had practiced forest based assassinations many times in his life. Perhaps a guard would occasionally hear leaves rustling and look up to find nothing and an absolute stillness.

The skills of perhaps the best assassin in the entirety of Asaranthia were no laughing matter, but they were not enough to actually match an organized group of elven and ogre soldiers. Assassination was never an art to place oneself into the thick of combat, although Ardghal's impressive fighting skills gave him the advantage over nearly any warrior in a brawl. The weakest point of the assassin was groups and guards. The more enemies there were, the more targets to get through before the assassin could reach the true target. In this scenario, Ardghal had no target in mind. He was simply observing the troops after hearing about their movements. He was not interested in stopping their slavery or anything of that sort as there was no point in risking his life. No body had paid him to save these people and he wouldn't bother. However, if the chance to eliminate these walking maggots arose, he would gladly take it as long as it did not mean much harm to Ardghal. A pragmatist at heart, Ardghal always thought seriously of matters with a logical eye.

When Ardghal saw the troops affront the golem, he began to realize that a chance to wipe out these troops was possible. If "negotiations", which Ardghal personally believed would fail as this naive golem had quite the lofty ideals to even be in their path alone with the idea of "negotiating", did fail and combat occured, Ardghal could join in from the sidelines, picking off soldiers one by one.

Ardghal had six daggers and his gauntlets, which would allow him to disable a maximum of six targets, kill one guaranteed, and dispatch at least four more soldiers with a physical beatdown. Ardghal formulated a quick plan. He would stay mobile in the trees if combat started, throwing out a dagger to paralyze a soldier with each dagger. He would then ambush one of the orcs and strike him once with his Heartstoppers, which would end the orcs life inevitably with Hydra poison. He could then use the golem as a friendly tank and pick off any remaining elven soldiers. A fine plan that had a high chance of success, but highly dependent on the power of the golem he was to rely on. Nevertheless, this plan depended upon negotiations failing, and so Ardghal simply watched with interest at the scene unfolding before him while leaning comfortably against the trunk of a large oak he was perched on.

Alyynes, taking the ogres reaction as a no, attacked it, punching it in the face. After a long battle with it, he impaled it by turning his hand into an axe. "Anyone else want to fuck with me?" He asked to the squadron. They knew that a single golem could wipe out a single giant ogre, perhaps a abomination, when he's angry.

(I suggest you don't act recklessly, even if you are one powerful golem you have a powerful abomination and more than 10 ogres fully equipped with hammers that can mash boulders so yeah.)

(I'm going to emphasize this on team work not just your power specifically btw, everyone is going to have to help out to get anything going)

@Darkens

The Xi forces laughed at this remark, 30 of them and only 1 of him, the odds seemed oddly against his favor, as he was talking a large heavy net landed upon the golem and forced him down, as if it was designed for large beasts and abominations. The first ogre swiftly went over and let out a blood thirsty cry, slamming his hammer against the golem. 4 more came and started pounding on the poor golem. With @L u n a

Suddenly, the beast started sucking up all the magical energy near the area, any spells or magics being used would be drawn by the enemy, it seemed the reason why the poor mages were captured was because the abomination was anti-magic.

"You fool." He muttered quietly. Pangur have been observing from the edge of the woods, perched on a tree. For a wise and ancient being, that golem was dumb as a rock. "He he." He quietly laughed at the inside joke he made. He have been observing Xi's forces for nearly three days, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Now he wished he have attacked earlier, or at least caused a distraction. He might have saved the Elvyns. Moving closer, he drew his tomahawks, mapping out a plan.

Alyynes was growling low under his breath. "Fools." "Xi is only using you! Force will only weaken me!" "So, fuck off!" Alyynes started roaring, looking around. He heard footsteps and saw a lelyth. "Stupid elves," he said, trying to get their attention makings plan. "Your all stupid! Even you dark elvyn! Your lord, Xi, loves golems!" Trying to spread lies, not only to save his life, also getting the elvyns attention. Alyynes started grunting, and closed his eyes, trying to trick them. He slowed his breath, and layed limp.

Sent from... Eh, why bother?

Ardghal smiled as he witnessed the golem being ensnared. It was foolish of him to have attempted such an open ended attack, but this was all the distraction Ardghal needed to completely wreack havoc upon this force.

The most renowned assassin in Asaranthia: The Reaper, would grace his time and effort unto these pitiful soldiers. Ardghal quickly pulled from his cloak three of his daggers. Placing each dagger between four of the fingers of his left hand, Ardghal took one final view of the battle scene.

His battle instincts awoke more powerful and stimulated than ever. It was as if the world had grown brighter and clearer. Everything became known to Ardghal, the positions of all of the soldiers, their movements and their speeds, their subtle bodily hints that indicated where they would move, the weight and strength of their weapons, everything. It was as if the world had become slowed down to a sluggish crawl for just an instant. This was the result of battle instinct that had been crafted from a massive well of talent, an instinct that was so honed it was supernatural.

Ardghal smiled as he noted the first ogre finish his first swing on the golem and begin to move both arms upwards while straightening his body to perform another blow. Behind the ogre came another one of its kind, with its right side slightly slouched as it held a weapon, exposing the thin space of soft flesh on the neck between helmet and shoulder pad. An elven soldier tailed slightly behind the second ogre, his left arm gripping a shortsword with leisure as he walked towards the golem with a slow and relaxed pace with no helmet on.

Ardghal noted all of this and calculated exactly where these three beings would be in the timespan of half a second, and pinpointing each location, Ardghal threw all three of his daggers with a swift, practiced movement that was both silent and so quick that it lasted barely half a second. As soon as the blades left Ardghal's grasp, he grasped the oak trunk behind him and used it as a pivot to propel himself to a low hanging branch of the next tree, which he grasped to break his fall before falling to the ground below.

The first dagger should have now hit the ogre that was attacking the golem. Right on the right ribcage area. The second dagger would have flown past this first ogre's helmeted head by a few inches and struck deep into the second ogre's neck, killing him by piercing the throat. The third dagger was a variable as it was thrown at the farthest range, but if things had gone perfectly, it would have struck the elf's right temple and pierced his brain to kill him. The first ogre that had received a non lethal blow would feel the powerful paralyzing toxins of the coated dagger circulate through his body, making his limbs feel impossibly heavy before completely seizing his muscle movements and freezing him like a statue.

Ardghal was confident the first two daggers hit, so he calculated his next movements with the assumptions that they did hit. He had no time to waste to check the results of his thrown daggers, and he trusted in himself completely in any case. Ardghal was still basically invisible in the dark shade of the trees, so they would not know where he would appear from if he chose to show himself.

Utilizing this element of surprise, Ardghal ran extremely swiftly, far faster than any man the elves had ever seen and possibly faster than any elves they had seen. During this sprint, he had unsheathed two extra daggers and placed them between three fingers of his right hand in preparation for his frontal assault. Using his momentum, Ardghal leapt forward towards another tree trunk and grasped a branch. Using this branch as a balancer, Ardghal placed both legs on the trunk and pushed off of it into the open before all the troops but behind the golem so as to become a harder target for projectiles. The space in front of the golem should be open now as the targets closest to it should have been eliminated, and banking on that, Ardghal began to swiftly cut the net that held down the golem. The net was made of powerful and fibrous rope, but the black daggers that Ardghal had were designed entirely to pierce through any organic matter with ease, and this rope was no different.

Pangur was about to attack, but something attacked first. He had no idea what it was, but it was good. Letting out a terrifying roar, Pangur rushed into battle. He swiftly decapitated a dark elvyn, its blood spurting everywhere. He threw his axe at an ogre, the blade burying itself deep in his chest. Pangur rushed at him, retrieving the axe.

"Get up!" He called out to the golem, making his way towards it. He struck the foot of an undead, toppling him down. After freeing the elvyns from their captors, he ran towards the golem. "For a golem, you really don't think things through." He said, urging him to stand up.

Alyynes got up, yelling at the lelyth. "Hey, got caught up! I was a slave myself!" Alyynes turned his hand into an axe and decapitated a dark elf. He stomped on some undead, and then started fighting another dark elf. An ogre then proceeded to attack him, and he started fighting it. Pretty soon, it was decapitated, and it's arm was off. Rage ran through Alyynes as he roared. He took on one more ogre and pushed him at a tree. He kicked the ogre down and struck the ogre down. He left the ogre's dead body and started panting.
