In our world's near future, civilization has fallen into terrifying chaos. Thanks to not only the human populace, but because of forces of good and evil. They are the Void, and the Word. The void is made up of demons and once-men that are desperate to rend the human race into extinction. The Word is made up of people chosen by the Lady to stop the Void. During this time, what little humans have survived the bombs and the plagues had fled to the only remaining shelters. The stadiums of the cities. There were still some, the outcasts and the orphans, that chose to live on the streets of the cities. This particular city, was Seattle.
In this new world, the sun shone 350 days a year all the way from the equator to Canada. When you crossed the Mississippi, there was nothing but desert until you reached the mountains, then more of the same after that until you got to the coast. The ozone layer had burned away and the ice caps had all but vanished. Temperatures rose everywhere, and the land that had once been middle America had turned stunted and dry. This had happened more than 30 years ago.
Some of the humans that had refused to believe, the ones that drank the tainted waters and ate the tainted food, had changed into something monstrous. They were called the Freaks. There were croaks. There were Spiders. There were moles and lizards. Then there were things that had recently developed. Unspeakable things that no one wanted to believe existed. This was the world they had been thrown into.
Croaks - Zombie like creatures. The most dangerous of the Freaks.
Spiders - Reclusive and rarely crossed upon.
Lizards - Lizardlike humanoids, not very dangerous, but better to be avoided in any case.
Knights of the Word - Knights used to protect the human race with their black staff.
Once-men - Men that were changed by the demons of the Void. Now mindless followers.
Street Kids - Kids that were either orphaned or kicked out of the Stadiums.

History: She was not alive when the armageddon first happened. That was her parents time. Originally, she had lived in Seattle's Safeco stadium with her parents, however, when they died, she refused to stay there. She knew that it was only a matter of time before their safehouse would become their tomb. So she figured she had a better chance of surviving outside their walls. She had joined with one of the Street Kid tribes when she was 15 and stayed until she reached age 18. Soon she decided that she would rather be on her own and start her own tribe than follow the rules of the tribe she had been in. So she made her own tribe, naming it the Roswell tribe. She named it after something that she had read in a book.
