Jessica Duguay / 20 / 5'4"
Jessica was born in the Midwest. She was a farmer’s daughter and accustomed to the scorching summer months. However, the heat never seemed to bother her as it did other people. Jessica never seemed to sweat or burn herself in the sun. As a young girl, the plains were her favorite place. During a moment of harmony on one of her daily outings, her dormant ability blossomed and lay waste to several acres. Nothing but ash and cinder remained. Jessica was seven years old at that time.
Jessica had always known that fire was dangerous. Naturally, the ability frightened her and she refrained from telling her parents at first, but it did not take long for the neighbor to knock on the door. He had seen what Jessica did in the field, which was his farmland. Luckily, the man was a good friend and did not blame the young girl. Jessica’s parents knew that they were not equipped or qualified to take care of their daughter and her ability, so they had her enrolled into the academy in Arkadia.
The academy life was not as bad as it seemed at first. Jessica was able to visit her parents during the weekends whenever she wanted to, many of the other students seemed to gather around her, and she was well treated by the faculty. What she learned, however, was that her ability and its blossoming was not nearly as devastating as it could have been or as bad as what some of the other students had to go through.
Over the years in the academy, Jessica has grown into a gentle, warm, and loving woman with the ability to reduce the world to ash.
Ability / Fire Manipulation
Jessica can create, manipulate, and absorb fire. During her later years, her fire has started to adopt traits of magma as well. Her most destructive abilities include self-detonation and maintaining oceans of fire within a domain. Jessica’s room at the academy has been reinforced and fully fire proofed. She can control her abilities while awake, but they have been known to react to her dreams and nightmares, which is what she is still working on.
