Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

Roan raised a brow, "What? What did it do?"

Vera snorted, "Meatloaf cuddled with her last night."

"That thing tried to crush me!", Anna protested, "I had one rule, stay off the bed! It decided it's entire body weight on my back was off the bed."

"Well hopefully it stays useful enough to not be dinner." Jack shrugged, "Because I don't think keeping a pain in the ass around is a good idea at all"

"It doesn't know commands," Vera shrugged, "You just gotta teach it."

Anna crossed her arms and grumbled until food was put in front of her. "We'll worry about that later," Jack said, "For now, we gotta eat, get woken up, and then we're building a wall."

"Roan was on fiber duty, since he tamed it," Jack shrugged, "But it seems to like Anna more, so that's on her now."

"HEY!"

"What? The thing likes you more than any of us."

"We could have two of us on fiber. What else do we need?" Roan asked.

"Just wood and thatch," Anna grumbled.

"I can get the remaining wood pretty quickly, with Hardhead," Jack nodded, "If someone else works on thatch, we'll be able to start building before noon."

Roan hummed, opening his mouth to speak, only to be interrupted by Vera, "Maybe Meatloaf can help with thatch too."

"That'll work," Jack nodded. "Once the walls are up, we'll be able to build a workspace and houses, so let's get this done today." The giant got up from the bench and put his plate away, pulling out his hatchet, "I'll get started on wood."

Once finished eating, Vera got to work on thatch, working near Jack. Roan looked to Anna, "You wanna take the moschops or me?"

Anna looked at Meatloaf and then back at Roan, "You can take her, I don't weigh enough to give her payback for last night." She shook her head and got up, "Be careful."

"Alright, go help with thatch then. It shouldn't take long to get the fiber," Roan said and stood.

Anna got up and grabbed her pickaxe, running to join Vera and Jack in their bit of deforestation to put the wall together.

Before long, the remaining wood was more than accounted for, thatch was very easy to get in large quantities, and with the moschops' ability to gather a lot of fiber and berries, they had all the materials ready and available. "Alrighty," Jack pulled up a chair to start making the walls and foundations for the thing.

"So what does that leave us to do?", Anna asked. Once the materials were gathered, that left them to their own devices.

"See if you can go find something that gathers stone or wood and thatch really efficiently," Jack offered, "I'm not really sure what's in the area, we've been holed up here since we arrived."

Roan nodded, "I dont think we will find much different at the beach, but we could find something useful up the mountain."

"We might be able to find something interesting up that way," Anna pointed in the direction where they'd seen the massive birds.

"That too," Roan agreed, "Which do you two prefer?"

"I want a bird." Vera said excitedly.

"I haven't seen anything down either way," Anna shrugged, "But a bird that powerful is definitely useful."

"You realize if one of those gets you your dead, right?", Jack asked.

"That doesn't change that we watched one of those pick up, probably an anky, and drop it from the sky to kill it. And we're much smaller." Jack shook his head.

"And if we can tame one, or a dozen," Anna pointed out, "We can use that to our advantage."

"We will be careful," Vera promised. Roan nodded, "Right now, we will tame just one and see how it goes."

"Yeah," Anna agreed, "By the way, dibs."

"Alright, whatever, just keep an eye out for anything that might be helpful for wood or stone." Jack sighed and settled back into his seat.

Anna nodded then rushed to Dummy to get some supplies off of her parasaur. Tranquilizer arrows, bolas, a club, and spears. Assuming those birds were carnivorous, then the raptors would be the best mounts for this endeavor.

Following Anna's thoughts, Roan gathered the tranqs and bolas needed for the trip from his parasaur.

"Just a thought," Vera said, "Is it smart that all three of us go?"
