Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"Yeah," Jack sighed, "Just can't win with him."

"Well, you can tell him over dinner, I'm gonna start cooking," Anna shrugged and went over to the fire, starting to mix meat and berries into another stew like Roan had made.

Vera joined Anna, helping her make the stew, "So, he killed a rex?"

"Somehow," Anna shrugged, "I think it was mostly the spino, but that was apparently what that massive corpse was." Jack ducked into the hut to wake Roan for dinner.

Roan stirred awake, healed now from his wounds, "Hey..."

He rubbed his face and yawned, "Man.. I'm exhausted."

"Probably the spino," Vera agreed, "Otherwise he probably would've been awake when we got to him."

"Well it's dinnertime, it's almost nightfall." Jack offered a hand to help Roan up, "Need any help moving around?"

"I mean there dilos and compies apparently," Anna shrugged, "But it's happened, we know they're here, so let's just work on getting the walls up and get safe so we can start building up." She started spooning out bowls of her concoction to the group as they sat down around the fire.

"I think I'm fine," Roan said as he stood with Jack's help.

"Lets think of it as a warning call," Vera offered in thought, "Now we know there's big scary dangerous beasts nearby and the spino can take them."

"Sounds good to me," Anna nodded, "But we should train the spino's melee damage and health so it can do that better."

"We can do that," Jack agreed, taking his bowl and sitting down. "While you've been out, Roan, we've been busy." He gestured to the storage boxes, "Wood and thatch, tomorrow we're working on fiber. Once the wall is done, we'll start building houses again."

"Wow. You guys have been busy. And I've been none the wiser." He chuckled, "How much more wood will you need or do you have it all?"

"We've got most of it," Anna answered, "Tomorrow Jack's gonna go get the last bit while we work on collecting all the fiber."

"Which is a lot," Jack added, "But not as much as you'd think."

"Well, the sooner the better. Right?" Roan hummed. Vera nodded, "Jack do you want him to help you or help us?"

"I'll be fine, I can carry a few stacks no problem," Jack shrugged, "Unless Roan knows a dino that collects fiber." As he said that, a barrel-shaped reptile waddled by. The spino didn't attack it, so it must not have been a carnivore.

"What is that?", Anna picked up her crossbow, "And why did the spino let it through?"

Roan looked at it, "Wild female moschops."

He got up, moving closer and saw it wanted tintiberries to tame, "Anyone have tintoberries?"

"I think," Anna rummaged around in her inventory, "I used them in the stew, here," she tossed a parcel stack Roan's way.

"What's a moschops?" Jack looked just as confused as Anna.

"That thing."

Roan made quick work feeding it. It only took a few berries to even tame, "A moschops is whatever this cute little thing is."

"Does it do anything useful or did you just break the rule?", Jack asked.

"Find out, it looks rideable," Anna shrugged, "it's not like we're pressed for time."

Roan looked through the implant and smirked, "It collects all sorts of things. Thatch, berries, meat, wood and fiber."

Afterwards he climbed onto the thing, laughing as it waddled to the group, "Hah, it didn't break the rules!"

"Good, then you're on fiber duty tomorrow," Jack nodded, getting up once he finished eating.

"Looks like life just got a tiny bit easier," Anna commented.

Vera giggled, "Its kind of cute. What should we name her?"

Roan looked at the red and brown markings, "How about.... " he thought a moment before saying the first thing that came to mind, "Meatloaf!"

"Meatloaf?" Vera muttered in disbelief, "Really?"

"If it turns into a problem, she's going to be a meatloaf," Jack shrugged, "Meatloaf it is."

Anna giggled, "It's cute, I like it!"

Meatloaf seemed to enjoy hearing her name, doing a little dance. Roan laughed, "She likes it!."

"Well, I'm going to bed." Jack yawned and vanished into the hut, "Goodnight, guys."

"Good night!", Anna waved and walked over to the moschops to pat it and laugh at it's behavior.

Roan got up, letting the dinosaur go. It called happily and followed after Anna, tongue out like a dog.

"This is a weird little dino, isn't it?", Anna laughed at the moschops waddling to keep up with her, "So it's useful and cute!"

The raptors seemed to think they were missing out and approached to demand attention themselves.

The moschops made a little chirp like noise, looking up at Anna. She seemed to claim Anna as her human. Meanwhile, Roan gave attention to the raptors.

"I think they're jealous," Vera laughed.
