Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"You would have been better than fine if you'd woken us," Anna shook her head, "And you'd be even worse if I'd left you like this caveman slapped you back together."

"Hey, I didn't see anyone else volunteering," Jack protested.

Roan hummed, laying back fully now, "Look, I'm fine now thanks to you guys."

Anna smiled, "But you're not off the hook, stunts like that are gonna get you killed."

"Good," Anna smiled and got up. "Well, in a couple hours you should be healed up, if Jack isn't full of it." As big as Jack was he had to be full of something.

"We took a tumble off a cliff and got way more screwed up, we were fine by morning."

Anna nodded and vacated the hut, leaving the two guys alone as Jack sat down on his sleeping bag to work out the numbers he'd come in for. "Looks like that spino wasn't entirely pointless, huh?"

"Yea, it did good with that Rex," Roan hummed, "I am... so sore.."

"Will do," He replied, "It came from the mountain, I think we need to be careful."

"Well we're going to start building a wall over these next couple days," Jack nodded, "We'll have something solid to protect us from the east soon, we can handle from the north and south." He started scribbling on the note paper, opening up his engrams to check the recipes he needed from time to time.

"It shouldn't take more than a few days to get the first layer up," Jack shrugged, it hadn't taken nearly that long when they were building back on the beach, and they'd had much smaller trees to get wood from, so hopefully this didn't either. After a while he got the numbers he needed and frowned, it was more than he initially thought. "But it's still going to take a while."

"Wood alone, for the wall, not even the foundation," Jack held up the note with a bunch of big numbers on it. "That much."

"That's a lot of wood." Roan muttered, "We're gonna end up deforesting the area."

"And we didn't do that before?", Jack raised an eyebrow. He sighed and got up, "We'll get started today, if we do as much as we can today to collect and craft all night, we should be able to start building tomorrow." He exited the tent and went to relay that to Anna and Vera.

"Woodchopping, yay," Anna groaned.

"At least we won't have to repair our axes for a while," Jack shrugged, "At least until we can get a forge and smithy going."

"We should set up a building just for storage to hold all the wood we need," Vera commented. In the tent, Roan slowly drifted back to sleep.

"Thatch would be cheapest for that," Jack nodded, then thought about it, "Actually we don't need to put the storage boxes on a foundation, and nothing else can get into them, we can just line them up and fill them."

"Then let's do that," Anna shrugged and opened her engrams to see how she could help, but realized that she didn't have the engrams for any storage boxes.

Looking into her engrams, Vera realized that she didn't have the engrams either, "Huh.. I think I need to get the engram for that."

"It's fine, I've got it," Jack shrugged and started making some. "I'll put these down, you two get started and I'll join you two."

Vera nodded, taking Figaro to go and gather wood. After several hours, they had collected a good portion of their wood.

Once Jack had made a handful of large storage boxes and put them all down as close as he could manage, Jack joined the girls in cutting wood. Between the three of them, in getting back and forth between the woods and the boxes, even using the parasaurs for extra carry weight, it took most of the day to fill two. "On the bright side," jack said, checking again to make sure he knew what he was looking at, "Between wood and thatch we're almost there, if I did the math right, tomorrow you guys can work on fiber and I'll get the rest of the wood and thatch."

"Wonder if there's something to tame that gets fiber," Vera hummed, "Seems like we could use that."

Jack nodded, "That would help with gathering berries, too."

"So we need a dino for gathering wood, thatch, stone, and berries?", Anna raised an eyebrow. "I think Roan's gonna have a field day."
