Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"But could us imagine how well protected we would be?" He argued.

"Imagine how dead we're gonna be when we pass out from exhaustion with an unconscious spino, or worse next to us?", Jack countered.

"Yea but then we will have a spino at least to protect us," He pointed out, gesturing to the slowly taming beast.

Jack shook his head, "Roan, if you wanna live like you're playing Pokemon," Jack wasn't quite sure what that word meant but somehow it seemed to apply to this situation, "That's fine, but please do not put the rest of us at risk so you can catch them all."

"Pokemon?" Roan repeated. He was unfamiliar with the term. It sounded familiar.

"I... I don't know," jack shook his head, "Vera and I have been finding a lot of words we don't recognize but somehow know the meaning to, like chicken," he looked at Vera, "Tell him about hay."

Vera laughed a bit, "Not entirely sure but I said the word hay. Its like thatch I think. "

"See?", Jack spread his hands, "Words and phrases come up and we don't know what they mean until after we say them." He tried to figure out what Pokemon meant for a moment, "I think Pokemon's like taming, but you're doing it constantly."

"That... doesn't make sense to me, but ok," He shrugged, "I'll take your word for it."

Jack shrugged, "I don't know, we're not sure where these words are coming from." He sat back down after refreshing the spino, and then downed some stimulant to help with keeping him awake.

"Its kind of annoying. Not knowing what words mean," Roan said quietly.

"We'll figure it out eventually," Jack shrugged, he passed around stimulant to help everyone stay conscious. "I'm serious, though, we're not doing this," Jack gestured to the setup around the spino, "Again."

"We will see," Roan replied, "Maybe not any time soon."

"Oh boy. Just agree to disagree," Vera said, taking some stimulants.

"Whatever," Jack shrugged, "We'll figure things out as we go." He got up to sedate the spino again as the taming bar continued to slowly grow. By morning, the spinosaurus had woken, fully tamed, along with Anna loudly panicking as to what happened to her leg. It was still immobile, but the swelling had gone down and it definitely looked better, but in the narcoberry haze she couldn't put together that the thing on her leg wasn't a part of the problem.

Roan was half asleep when Anna had woken up. Listening to her freak out he spoke softly, "We fixed your leg. Hopefully it'll heal now."

"Fixed!?", Anna gripped the wood, "My leg is wooden! And heavy!"

"It's a splint you stupid- holy shit!" The spino's head was closer to Jack's han he remembered. it was still restained, but still.

"Its to keep the bones from moving. Your leg isn't wooden." Roan said and looked over at the spino, "I'm just glad thst thing is done."

Anna was confused, but on some prodding with a stick she found Roan was right. Her leg was still a bit swollen, and she probably wouldn't be able to walk on it normally today, but it didn't bring her to tears when the wind blew over it, so that was definitely better. "I'm just gonna go load up the parasaurs," Jack shook his head, they had stuff to get ready to transfer, "Roan, Spino's your responsibility."

"What do you want me to do with it?" He asked, getting up. He groaned, "I'm tired. Veras asleep on the ground."

"I don't really know," Jack shrugged, "Just keep it from hurting anyone." He reached down to give Vera a light shake to wake her up. "C'mon, time to wake up."

"We're loading up, the spino just finished taming," Jack smiled and offered Anna some stimulant to help her wake up, "I'm gonna go load the parasaurs with supplies, you wanna help?"
