They're going to leave us...
It isn't as advanced as you think; there are no laser guns, hover cars, or teleporters. None of that; most scientific research halted in 2673, when most of the governments collapsed. Sure, there were somethings that came out, but technological advancement has almost stopped completely. All work is done by private investors with too much time to spare, and it is frowned upon by most other people. In the year 2998, UNAS {{which used to be known as NASA, and is also known as the United Nations Astronomical Service}} announced that the rouge planet they had been tracking for several years was finally approaching Earth. Most people weren't worried; despite the sever lack of resources, the world wide government crafted 300 large space shuttles to bus all the people that could purchase tickets out to space, out of range of any debris, to clip together into one station and eventually make there way to the nearest suitable planet. It is cruel, yes, but at this point in time the government is terribly corrupt and very money focused. Ticket sales were prohibited to criminals in Criminal Detainment, as well as those in Mental Institutions. Most accepted there fate. However, our small little group isn't going to settle for this fate. We are located in Strongwall Detention Center, in Atlanta. The nearest launch pad for the shuttles is 246 miles away, and our path is littered with radioactive fields, dangling wires, poisoned rivers, and so much more that could prove fatal. Not to mention that the stations will be heavily guarded to prevent any carry on's from boarding the ships. We're going to have to work together to get there, to have any chance at all. We've all done our crimes; what's preventing us from doing a few more?
