Answered Approval

When Life Gives You Lemons
A few questions actually

- Is this "Awaiting approval before being displayed publicly. " thing permanent
- If so , why does it take so long
- If not , why am i constantly being stuck with it
- why do i constantly have to wait for this if i merely made a small edit to my thread

This is not permanent. It only happens to new accounts and those that have too little posts as we have automatic filter that helps us catch spam bots.

My post says it is waiting for moderator approval, what does that mean?
New members have their content go through a filter which puts it into a moderation queue. A Staff member has to manually review any posts flagged by this system - which can happen due to certain keywords, phrases, or spambot behaviors. As this is a manual process it can take time for content in the queue to be reviewed.

After you gain 10 posts on the forums this won't happen anymore.
Right now you have 11 so it should be fine from now on.

Hey check out Most Common Questions #10 in this thread FAQ - RpN Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) .

Your account is still subject to the moderation approval system until you reach a certain number of posts (I’m unsure how many, but staff can clarify). This system is mostly in place to prevent bots from flooding the site with inappropriate posts or links to outside webpages. Or as a precaution in case a new member hasn’t read the site rules.

It is not permanent. It takes a while because it is monitored by staff who are human-beings, volunteers, and not necessarily spending all their time waiting to approve these changes. A reason you have to wait even if you’re just editing your thread is because that could be a way to try and cheat the system. For example you can post a thread that passes, and then after it is approved you edit in information that is against site rules. Not that you specifically would do it, it’s just a precaution for “new” accounts.

Once you hit that post number you won’t have to go through this approval stage anymore.
