Dakine Itai
Professional Cynic
The title says it all; I’m jonsing for some sort of post-apocalyptic role play! Now, I’m old fashioned in the respect that I enjoy coming up with concepts and plot arcs with my potential writing partner. It makes for a great story, overall. So, I will be tossing some loose concepts and ideas below – if something strikes your fancy and you want to expound on it, toss me a PM! I’m always open to discuss ideas.

Nuclear Apocalypse
We’ve all seen movies and television shows about this one, folks. Typical end-of-the-world trope. Nuclear wasteland or winters. Survival. Starvation. Distrust. This is a setting that is ripe for a seedy, gritty sort of story. I want skeletal skylines – crumbling skyscrapers. Scavengers and shanty-towns. A trope, yes, but tried and true! Maybe the apocalypse just happened, or it could be generations down the line. It’s up to us to decide!
Magical Apocalypse
What if some sort of magical event caused the world to end, throwing our modern world into a wonder-wasteland? Rifts into other planes? Sinister mythological beings? Maybe technology doesn’t even work anymore. I want overgrown magical flora that spits out spores that weasel into your brain and make you go mad with hallucinations! Bubbling lakes of magical acid! Old cities overgrown with sentient molds and fungi. Maybe your character developed nifty powers they don’t understand. Who knows!? If you can dream it up, it can kill us. New challenges for characters and a LOT of room for imagination and creativity. The sky is the limit on this one. I’m super excited to try this out.
Viral Apocalypse
Another one that is a bit trope-y, but fun nonetheless! Massive outbreaks of illness and widespread panic. Maybe folks try to live in solitude to avoid coming in contact with sick folks? Has the government dissolved? Maybe only very remote, very cold places have colonies that are immune, or it’s just the luck of the draw who lives and who dies? Maybe people have gone sterile due to some ailment or another and no, or very few, babies are born. How would it affect the way the world works?
