Oh I know. But the Red Army and associated partisans were the only side of the war known to use women in combat roles to any notable extent.

I will make this suggestion though. You need to make sure that the characters are all in the same general group and have a realistic reason for being so. Otherwise they're either scattered all over the place or it feels forced. I would suggest setting the opening at least during the opening days of the German offensive on the Soviet Union in 1941. A group of Soviet soldiers (whichever characters want to play as actual soldiers) are separated from their company by an advancing German armored division and are forced to operate behind enemy lines with the aid of local resistance fighters (anyone who wanted to be a partisan) and helpful civilians.

I agree. I think we should focus on one front, one area of the war. Personally, I'd prefer something taking place in the West (because better dead than red) but if the group consensus is the East I wont fight it or quit. Your idea Shireling (posted immediately above) is appealing.

I had an idea a long time ago with the title of Trenchfoot, which was dedicated to more of the frontline

there is still no RP set up, but there is a large number of people interested in doing a WW2 based RP. I would set up the RP if it wasn't for my lack of interest and time to GM.
