TV & Film Any Oncers out there?

With the series finale of Once Upon A Time airing in May, are there any people still interested in the show? I won’t lie, I quit watching when it went to Hell in a hand basket in season 4 but need to bite the bullet and finish the series.

I've started watching Once Upon A Time rather late in the game. I started watching season one after the first half of season four had aired. I kinda just stuck around to see what was going to happen after season four. By the time season seven rolled around, I was rolling my eyes. I really was only watching for Adelaide Kane and the two episodes with Meegan Warner.

I loved OUAT, I didn't really start the show until season 6 but honestly, for me, season 7 was bad. Especially the part of Hook being Hook but not being Hook?
The whole same person, different dimension thing - really wasn't a fan. And Emma left and Kid Henry. Everyone actually left, Regina/Evil Queen/Ronnie make it a little bit bearable but I haven't watched it since the first few episodes aired.

Yeah, the entire Hook thing was completely weird. I'm so confused about the who wish universe.

When Rumple was in the wish universe, he said he was gonna go cause a bunch of mayhem, and Emma and Regina didn't stop them because, hey, it's all just a wish. No real people are getting hurt. And then it turns out to be real? It almost makes Regina and Emma look like awful people.

I can't even remember anymore! I think I just liked the first curse the most. The second curse that was by Zelena was great too and I love the twists to every character but the third curse was beyond the most confusing thing I had watched in the series. Rumple, Regina and Hook were my favourite characters, in this curse, from the few eps I watched, Gold had died out and was replaced by Weaver and I didn't like that at all. Ronnie was okay, actually. But the Hook thing really annoyed me. I mean if you're going to add changes and make the show better, go for it, but how did almost all of the cast end up leaving? In this case, I don't think 'out with the old and in with the new' worked at all.

Clearly the majority of the cast was over it. They've been doing it for so long, it's understandable. The fact that they thought they could carry on the show without so much of the cast is just kinda sad.

That's true, but I heard that they were getting underpaid/not paid enough? I have no idea if that's true though.
I just think that giving this show a makeover was one of it's worst decisions but it had to happen some time. I mean, they were through with most villains and had gone through almost every character ever heard of I'm sure.

I feel like it would have just been better if they ended at season six, and made season seven as season one of a spin-off show. I mean season seven wasn't horrible, just bad. I feel like they had some interesting ideas that would have been cool to explore.

That would have been true, it was a shame that Emma's actress decided to leave. OUAT began as being based around her and then every fairytale and how one connected to another, everything you've ever known from picture books was twisted to become a wild story. It was fun while it lasted but it's great that she's chasing after her dream to become more about the background and production of series like OUAT.

Yeah. I mean, for actors, I'm sure playing a role so often makes you feel burned out. I also feel like the land of untold stories was a wasted opportunity

Yes, definitely! And I didn't mind what was Emma and Henry's first interaction since he was given up for adoption to be repeated with his child, but at the same time, I just thought, 'Been there, done that, bought the merch.'
I feel like watching the show again, starting off from a little into season 7, especially since somebody told me a while ago that the old cast members may return for the few final episodes. But then again, that's all it will be, the few final episodes.
One actor I really miss is younger Henry's!

I know, but in his scenes in season seven, I noticed that he looked kind of burned out. Even the actors who returned for the season looked burned out. Lana was the only one who seemed to be really into it.

I guess the actors just wanted to go onto more projects that appealed to them. I think it's a good idea to put OUAT to rest, I think it was a good call to end it after the 7th season, I feel like everything - the fairytales and the used up plots being used again would have made everything drag out and then (probably) most of the fan base would get turned off from the show. The show as a whole was real good though, I loved all 6 seasons and it's such a small thing but I loved how they made Nemo the captain on a ship.

I stopped a few episodes into the season where Henry grew up (is this the latest one?). I will marathon it on Netflix when the whole season is out.

Otherwise, I really like the show :).
