Realistic or Modern Antarktis - Alt-History/Steampunk(ish)/Semi-Survival Antarctica RP

Summary:Alternate history from 1838 onward up until 1899, when the RP will take place. Several countries, including the United States of America (Main focus), Great Britain, and Russia (plus other more minor countries), rush to colonize the plains of Antarctica, settling firstly on the coastline of the continent. From there on out, it's all in-character conflict and such. The steampunk aspect in this RP isn't as crazy or overdone as it is in others or in pictures, with cogs and gears set all over the place for no reason.
