Another Question

Persell

Ten Thousand Club
Please, pardon my ignorance, but as I said awhile ago, I've been out of the Exalted loop for about a year.  I was  perusing the "Combo" section of this place and noticed that almost every combo was designed using multiple charms all from seperate trees.

To my knowledge this isn't legal per the rules, I was under the assumption that all charms in a combo had to be from the same tree, else I would have destroyed my player many times over.

Did I missing something?

Again, thank you for your time and patience.   :)

The restriction on "same tree" charms in a combo doesn't apply to reflexives. This isn't explicitly obvious, but on pg. 214 of the core book, the explicit rules say things like "extra action Charm must be based on the same Ability as the simple Charm" and "unless the Charm’s description specifically states otherwise, supplemental Charms can only benefit simple Charms from the same Ability". There are no such riders for reflexives.

For lunar combos, charms based on any attribute can be mixed (though not with charms based on abilities).

And, of course, some non-reflexive charms are explicitly allowed to mix with other trees.
