No one knows the people behind the game, but the company has announced a $1,000,000 prize to the grand winner of the event- and free travel and hotel visits for anyone who can make it to nationals or above.
"Yo! No fair! How can a tornado throw rocks!?" A few such teens are in the middle of a match right now!
The dark-haired teen leans back in his chair, his arms crossed in triumph. "It's all on the card."

A thrilling game of subterfuge throughout! But our story takes place elsewhere, folks, in a small hotel room in a big city, where a tired lass is finally ready to unpack her supplies and hit the hay! Or, at least, to hit the books.
Sakamoto Kumiko walks into the hotel room, noticing a few oddities around, but paying them no mind. She doesn't go to hotels very often, so things like a second bed or a pamphlet on the dresser don't jump out at her right away. She's tired from a long day on a plane, heading to the seat by the window to watch the view and use the light of the fading sun to read her book. There are still two days before Wave 1 of nationals, and only the best eight players get to head to the final event. She's confident in her cards, all stored securely in one of her bags now sitting on one of the beds.
She believes that she will win the whole event. As for what to do with the prize money... maybe hire someone to open a card store closer to her home.
