Realistic or Modern [Anime] The Famous VS The Infamous

She drinks the vial in her right hand, making sure to get every last drop of the blue liquid. She sets it down, taking his hand and shaking it. "The name's Reiko. Reiko Ayami." She lets go of his hand after a moment, writing down a few things on the notebook beside her, it all extremely complicated, being words in Japanese, English, Russian, German and Latin, all languages crammed together into each sentence, as well as a few graphs and charts covering the pages.

"Zane, Zane Marakawa."

He perks an eyebrow, observing the variants of words from different languages being written all in one sentence, interesting.

"Might I suggest ask what that vial was? Professor? And what is with the multi-language study?"

Reiko looks at him for a moment, then realizes that she's the only one that's really ever done anything the way she does. "Oh, the multiple languages? There are some words that don't have direct meaning towards what it's being used as in my scientific studies, so I have to pull words with those literal meanings from other languages. It's so I don't end up confusing one statement for a different meaning. Also, the vial? I'm not really sure either. I've been drinking it for three months now. The different chemicals I've put into it seems to be the creation of a new drug that enhances ones ability to stay awake. I might release it in lower strength to the public, to help with those that have a hard time keeping awake in class, or fall asleep while they study at night."

He nods, understanding completely

"I see what you're doing, you're using other words with an alike meaning to another word, however to avoid confusion you use it from a different language, different pronunciation, however, alike definition, same word, very very interesting, I've never thought of doing something like that before. And this so called, "Energy Serum", this concoction seems something good to be sold to the public, are there any negative effects to it?"

He peers at the vial, now suddenly very interested in this conversation instead of speaking "just-cause."

"To be honest, I'm not sure of any positive or negative affects other than the effect of increasing the ability to keep awake. It might affect the nerves, but as I've already suffered permanent nerve damage, I can't really tell for sure." She spins the empty vial in her hand, then puts it back in the pocket on her lab coat, pulling out a green vial from the same pocket. "This is a little thing I came up with about half an hour before the plane ride. It's not something you can really drink, as it has an acid-like affect on skin. Luckily, it doesn't do that to anything but skin, such as I could dip my hair in it, and it'd be fine." She spins the bottle, taking apart the pen in her other hand. She pours a drop of the green liquid in with the ink, re-closing the vial and putting the pen back together.

"Permanent Nerve Damage, yikes. The other thing is pretty cool. All I can do is be good at technology and computers." He says as he gently pats his laptop.

Zane sighs and checks his watch curiously before asking a very serious question.

"Hey, you know how long this plane ride has left? This is getting VERY tedious..."

Reiko lifts her right hand. "I can only feel three of my fingers on my right hand. I'm lucky that's all it is, to be honest. I wonder what it would've been like to be stuck with the nerved only having been lightly singed... I'd probably have a hand that's constantly in pain, but that could be fun. Speaking of which, this green vial's actually a work in progress to fixing damaged nerves. If I could get it to touch my damaged nerves without touching any skin, I could find out how well it works. Sadly, they didn't let me bring enough equipment directly on the plane to do that. They'll be shipping a few things for me later on, though."

With a confused look, Zane perks an eyebrow with an awkward chuckle

"So... I'm guessing you don't know...?"

Chelsea sees Keito walking down the hall towards the living room. She looks at her, naturally beautiful face as always. "You know, that face really doesn't suit you. I honestly don't care about how you or anybody else looks, but I'd prefer you at least do something to fit it more, or make the face fit you. Gets annoying having the others constantly asking why you were given that face when your personality is so laid back." She pulls out a lollipop from her sleeve, offering it to her. "Here, you can have this. I need to cut back on them, so might as well give 'em all away."
Keito stops on her way to the magical and comfortable living room and listens to the other tenant criticizing her about practically everything about her. She turns and faces the said girl that's so famous with her 'silver tounge'. She just gives her a goofy grins and replied, "Well~ thank you for the kind compliment though i'd rather you shortened it a bit since i got lost in the middle of it~ Still... thank you!". Keito's eyes widen at the 'gift' the other girl offered and accepts it happily, "Good decision for you to make~," as she noms the lollipop and continue her way to the living room.

Claude Ichijou

Claude was sitting at the back of the plane, near the guy who's wearing headphones. He chose to sit there thinking the guy would stay quiet through the ride. He brought his music sheet, an instrumental song named 'Fantasy no.3, K397' by Mozart and practiced it in his head. All was good for a while, until he heard movement from the said guy–he started to talk to a girl in front of him. Claude tried to ignore them but they'd launched into a full-blown conversation.

"Excuse me, can you please lower your voice?" He cut the conversation suddenly.

After almost dying of boredom from doing nothing for two whole minutes, Sweeney sighed and hopped off his bed. Digging around under it, he grinned triumphantly when he pulled out a handheld chess game thing, turning the game on and starting a match with the computer as he walked out of his room. Somehow he was able to make it downstairs without falling or messing up his game, and he wandered into the living room. Looking up from his game briefly, Sweeney didn't see anyone else and laid down on one of the couches, resting his feet up on the armrest and playing his game.

Keito finally reaches the room after so many troublesome obstacles, at least for her. She found a guy, she remembers him being called Sweeney, lays down on one of the couches, playing a chess game. She just greets him with a simple, "hullo..." and sits on the other couch as she took the television's remote and turns on the television. She watches some random channels and lowers the sound. She plays with her rubber band. Bored's an understatement for what she feels right now and she yawns. She hugs her knees and tries to switch the channel with the remote using her left hand.

Kazuki Takano

Silently, Kazuki started to look for the spare keys which he can’t even remember where he placed. Just when he found the object that he was looking for, it was already on the hands of Brat # 2. Frowning, Kazuki extended his hand as if saying ‘Give it back to me’. However, instead of following his order, Chelsea started blabbering again. Geez, really. What’s wrong with this girl’s tongue? Irritated, Kazuki was about to grab the spare keys for himself but it was thrown by the brat, which he fortunately caught before it hit his head. Sighing, Kazuki suddenly felt that the key ring was unusually light, which made him realize that Chelsea removed two of the keys from the key ring.

“That brat…” Kazuki grumbled, walking out from his room and onto the second floor, only to see someone who’s finally awake, mainly, Brat # 3, Keito Nishizawa. “Good morning, sleeping beauty.” He said sarcastically before continuing on looking for Chelsea, however, it seems as if he can’t find her. That was until he heard her voice from the living room. Walking towards the stairs hallway, Kazuki listened onto Chelsea and Keito’s conversation which did not seem friendly at all. Somehow, Kazuki suddenly decided not to retrieve the spare keys, after all. If there’s an emergency, he would just use a chainsaw to smash through the doors.

Feeling a bit hungry, Kazuki went down the stairs only to see his residents slacking off. Much to his annoyance, Kazuki decided to let them off today since it was a special day, after all. He went straight to the kitchen to grab some breakfast, eating the remaining blueberry pancakes on the table. As he did, Kazuki suddenly received a text message,

Just letting you know that it’s just a few minutes before the plane lands, Kazuki. Can you go pick up your new occupants?

Thanks,

- From the
annoying old man.

“Tch. What a pain. Since when did you call yourself annoying, you geezer?” Kazuki grumbled and stood up after finishing his breakfast. Walking out, he called to the freeloaders in the living room, “I’m going out for a while. I’ll be fetching the new boarders of this house. Don’t cause any trouble while I’m gone or I’m going to kick you out from this mansion and make sure that you won’t live anymore.” Before getting ready, Kazuki turned to Sweeney and said, “Thanks for the pancakes, Sweeney. It was delicious. By the way, do you guys want me to buy you anything while I’m out?”

Keito snaps out of her little activity at the landlord's question. She sucks on her lollipop while thinking and decides that she doesn't need anything from outside world. She raises an eyebrow at the thinking of new boarder. She scoffs at the thinking, remembering that most of the boarder in this house are useless, have huge problems in society and such, those boarders won't be any difference. A lollipop, she wonders why someone invents this kind of lollipop. "Grrllll", the sound of her stomach grumbles, then she rememebrs that she hasn't had any breakfast yet. She stands up from her spot and answered the sadistic looking landlord, "Lollipop i guess... and don't kill anyone... considering you look like you want to kill someone... ". Then, with an uncaring attitude she gives a smile to the landlord and goes to the kitchen to find something to fill her hungry stomach.

Keito searches the refrigerator and finds milk. She takes the milk out, closes the refrigerator and takes out a box of cereal. She checks the expired date and finds that it has expired. She groans and tells Kazuki, "And i think some cereal will be nice Kazuki-san." And she's back to her same useless activity which she does every morning, training her skill in writing with her left hand. She mumbles a good bye to Kazuki, puts on her headphone, turns on her mp4 player and focus on her 'busy activity' as she listens to some music from her mp4 player.

Chelsea walks in, having just finished her fourth lollipop this morning. She hears his question. "I would like more lollipops again. I've started to run out. Hope you don't mind, Kazuki." With that, she walks to the kitchen, taking the expired cereal and eating it straight from the box. She sees the expiration date, but continues eating it anyways. "All the more reason I can eat from the box, I guess."

Keito heaves in relief and feeling proud, looking at her left hand writing which is looking a little messy in her eyes. Wonderful masterpiece, at least to her. She drinks the milk she took from the refrigerator and can't hear anything as she max the volume of her music in her mp4 player. No one bothers to talk to her anyway, so why should she care. She notices the sarcastic princess, she made the nickname, walks in the kitchen and eats the expired cereal. She lets her head drop to the table gently and dozes off. She's so close into reaching the dream land.

Reiko pulls out a vial with black and white liquid spiraling around each other. She carefully spins it in her hand, the colors seeming to change each full rotation, black becoming red while white becomes blue, red becoming green while blue becomes yellow, green becoming purple while yellow becomes pink, then purple returning to black while pink returns to white. "I can't wait to meet my new test subje- I mean, meet the people of the mansion." She looks down at her notebook, changing the page over to one near the very end, which has various symbols and small drawings alongside the writing. She erases a few symbols and such from different places, replacing them with similar ones, but completely different in her eyes. She writes a few things down, once again with many different languages crammed in each sentence. She closes the notebook, putting the pen and vial away. "I think we'll be landing here soon. I'd say in the next five to twenty minutes, maybe thirty at most."

Claude Ichijou

Claude heaved a sigh before finally focusing at his music sheets again. His fingers moved like he was really playing the piano. 'Shouldn't have bothered talking. .' He thought, even though his face stayed stoic. It seemed there wouldn't be any silence soon. Well.. maybe if he concentrated hard enough he could block the noises? He dismissed casually.

Pushing his glasses up, Claude fell silent. He would just bear with it until the plane arrived.

He nods and returns to his seat silently, opening his laptop again. Perhaps for the next 20 or 30 minutes he should play a game or something, something to pass the time. He adjusts his glasses and slips on his headphones, returning to his film from earlier, hoping it would pass the time enjoyably.

Sweeney looked up from his game when Kazuki walked in, completely ignoring Keito. He doesn't like her that much, but then again she doesn't seem to like anyone at all. If she acted nicer then maybe he'd talk to her a little. Swinging his feet down so he was actually sitting on the couch instead of lying down, Sweeney looked at Kazuki with wide puppy dog eyes. "Could you get me a new book? Since the pancakes were so good it'd be a nice payback," he pointed out, smiling sweetly even though he highly doubted it would work on the manor owner. "We going to need some bread and noodles too if you expect me to feed everyone dinner tonight." Sweeney knew that there was food in there, but hopefully adding more stuff to Kazuki's shopping list would distract him from the book. It's worked before, so why not now? "And some chicken. I'm planning to make a chicken pasta tonight and we only have a few pieces left."

Tim Ayers

Tim returned from the bathroom not long after going and he saw that Reiko was talking to some other boy. Tim shrugged as he sat in one of the other seats and sat there beginning to think. 'Maybe it would be best to just leave the person whose shoulder I had just used as a pillow alone.' He thought to himself he was feeling a lot more awake now than earlier in the plain ride. He shouldn't be tired he would usually be up around an hour earlier than this on his morning run. He decided to look out the window eventually and saw the approaching land. 'Soon I'll have my feet back on the ground.' He thought and smiled, he was a little nervous of flying since he had flown little.

Reiko sees Tim sitting over on another seat. She picks up her notebook, then walks over to where Tim's sitting. She looks at him with a smile. "You know, I'm fine with you having slept on my shoulder. In fact, if you want, you can sleep on my shoulder any time I'm not working." Reiko sits down next to him, now playing with the vial of black and white liquid swirled around each other, it changing colors every time. Black becomes red while white becomes blue, followed by red becoming green and blue becoming yellow, green becoming purple while yellow becomes pink, then them returning to the black and white colors.

Keito lifts her head after dozing off for a few minutes. She wonders if going outside will make the great boredom she feels disappear. What can happen outside the mansion, moreover, just in the garden? She wondered. After contemplating about it, she decided it's worth the trouble, she guess. She drinks the milk once more before going to her room to take a jacket. She looks at herself in the mirror and rolls her eyes. Who cares about what she looks like, not talking about Chelsea since she was just stating the truth anyway. She takes another lemon mint flavoured candy, and goes downstairs. Opening the door to the garden and covers her eyes for a while as the sun shines brightly that day. She grins at the sight of the garden.

Chelsea walks over to the door leading outside the mansion. "Heh, hope he doesn't mind if I get my first breath of sunshine since I got here... He really needs to learn to let people see outside..." She opens the door, walking to the beautiful world outside the mansion, which she hadn't even been given enough time to look at upon arriving on the island. "It's... so bright out here... It feels like this is the reason I'm so rude to everybody... I never get to actually see anything besides the depressing and boring feel of the old mansion." She starts to wander around outside, not caring what the old geezer thinks about her having just walked out right under his nose.

Keito was just laying on the grass, listens to some random music when she spots someone with a long hair goes out of the house. She just stares at the person's figure and decides it's not really worth the trouble to get there. She hums along the song and picks some grasses and throws it randomly. What a boring day started with a noisy old man and some sarcastic remark from the two other people in the house. She sucks on her lemon mint flavoured candy and stared at the sky as there's nothing better to do. She holds out her hands as if she wants to reach the sky and drops her arm to either side with a big sigh and contented smile. She loves this peaceful though boring place. And somehow she knows that it won't last long. But she has stopped caring about everything long time ago, so she can careless 'bout that.
