Sorin
huntress.
- Hello there!
I'm Sorin, but you can call me whatever you'd like. I'm twenty-five years old, respond to any pronouns, and live somewhere in a suburb of Philadelphia. I'm currently working my way, albeit very slowly, towards a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. I've also been on the hunt for a part-time job, but that's been neither here nor there, and I've been having a difficult time with it. Considering that it's summer and I'm without summer classes, though, I desperately need something to do, so despite my misgivings about myself and my writing, I'm creating this!
And, if you're interested in magicians and psychics fighting monsters, please read on! - 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.
My schedule is fairly open at the moment though that's bound to change once I find a job (soon) and then again when I return to college in the fall. I'll also be very busy during the second week and third week of July. Aside from that, though, I'm fairly free and I like to check this site at multiple points throughout the day. I'm usually active between 2 PM to 1 AM EST to at least respond to OOC chatter, but I'm slow as molasses when it comes to responses. I can't even make a promise as to how quickly you'll get them between my slow posting speed and overall slew of issues when it comes to my terrible mental health, but at the least, I'll try to talk to my partners.
𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
I love talking and plotting out of character. I would prefer to be friends with someone first and Roleplaying partners with them second, so if this sounds uncomfortable to you, then I'd suggest passing on writing with me. I would like to have a writing partner that I could talk to about unrelated topics, including the possibility of another Roleplay should we get bored with our initial idea and want to swap, or if we need to take hiatuses for any reason. When it comes to OOC chatter related to the Roleplay itself, I love making playlists, mood boards, discussing what-ifs, and even occasionally writing one-shot fanfictions! In terms of dropping Roleplays, I should note that I'm 100% ghost friendly and will not hold it against you if you ghost me, even if you decide later down the line that you'd like to write with me again, nor will I seek you out if you ghost me.
𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.
Characters are and always will be my focus. I only write ensemble casts with the possibility of a single main character and this is no longer negotiable. I have at least a hundred OCs at this point in my life and I struggle to choose which of my darlings to use, so I like to have more options. When it comes to my casts, I prefer to write diverse ones with a variety of ages, sexualities, gender identities, nationalities, ethnical backgrounds, and so on, so I'm sure that I have someone that would be of interest to everyone! I only use anime-styled and artistic faceclaims as I do not feel comfortable using the appearances of real people to portray my OCs.
𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
I've been Roleplaying for about fourteen years now. I started on Chatango and have since taken a global tour of the internet. I've written on Tumblr, Xat, Skype, MSN, RoleplayerGuild, IwakuRoleplay, Discord, Facebook, and even RPNation. I'm most adjusted to Discord Roleplays, admittedly, but I'm really anxious about adding new folks, so I may be more comfortable with site threads or PMs at the moment. There may be a chance that I'd be willing to switch to Discord.

I do not write plots involving beastiality, rape, incest, pedophilia, graphic animal abuse, or any form of NSFW sexual content. If spicy scenes appear, then fade-to-black is the only option when it comes to me. I also have no patience for meta-gaming, godmodding, Mary Sues/Gary Stus, and/or forced romance, so partners that commit these cardinal sins will be immediately dropped.

I'm part of the community and most of the characters I write are as well. If this makes you uncomfortable at all, then please pass on writing with me. Having representation in my writing is extremely important to me and this is not a point that I'm flexible on. That said, I also play characters not in the community, but I'm not interested in writing with someone who does not respect the characters that are.

Romance is fun, but it is never my primary focus. I much prefer character development and plot though I'm never against a little fluff as a side dish. I'm open to writing heterosexual, homosexual, and polyromantic relationships as long as there's natural chemistry or it's been pre-planned. I love writing platonic relationships, rivalries, and family dynamics if that's more of your speed too. To me, the perfect Roleplay has both kinds of dynamics.

Cosmic horror, disease arcs, revolution and rebellion, exploring darker topics, etc. I like to include themes of mental illness, addiction, trauma, abuse, transphobia, homophobia, racism, etc, in my Roleplays. I'll never ever glorify or defend any of these issues, but I do like to explore it in character plots or stories and see how they ultimately overcome it. That said, this not permission for someone to come at me with plots romanticizing abusive relationships or characters that are walking angstfests. Bigoted characters are also welcomed, but if it applies to you as writer, then I'll be dropping you yesterday.

I write in third person perspective, past tense, with A- grammar. I prefer quality over quantity. I also write like I'm publishing a school paper instead of a novel, so my writing can be a little robotic at times and I'm still learning descriptions, so you'll have to bear with me. You can expect anywhere from one line to one or two paragraphs. I'm somewhat of a lazy writer, I won't lie, so I'd like to write with a somewhat lazy partner too.

I have no love for character sheets, so I am no longer interested in writing them. I will provide faceclaims, basic information, and a single paragraph for each character that I use. - 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
I would like to have a partner that is willing to add their own tweaks and additions. I don't have all of my ideas planned out, nor do I want, so I'd like for people to come at me with their own ideas too. That said, this is not permission for folks to come at me with my own ideas only to talk over me with their own wants and desires. If you do that, then I'm dropping you.

I'm twenty-five and I ask for partners closer to my age for comfort reasons. I'd prefer writing with someone over twenty-one, but I'm flexible to write with folks as young as eighteen within reason. I don't have an upward limit in terms of what age I feel comfortable writing with.
𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.
I would prefer to write with someone that is comfortable with writing an ensemble cast even if this would be their first attempt at it.

OOC talk and plotting is pretty much a requirement for me.

I write slow as molasses or as quick as a gun pulled in an old western movie. Whichever you get, I just ask that you're patient with me. Thank you.

I ask that people do not respond to me by literally addressing or regurgitating every point in a post or DM. That's not fun. It feels like I'm having a one-sided conversation with myself after a while. I know this is such a weird thing to complain about it, but it's so draining and it hardly ever adds anything new to the conversation. Also, I ask that interested parties have read the first two tabs in their entirety before moving on. - In Halcyon, Espers and magicians both openly exist. Despite this, though, the two sides have been at bloody odds with one another for centuries. Their seemingly endless conflict, however, came to a sudden end in The Final War, after it was interrupted by otherwordly invaders. When Lovecraftian abominations filtered into their world by unknown means, the two territories of Regis Maxim and Elslandia put their eternal differences aside to fight together.
That was fifteen years ago.
Nicknamed "Cryptids", these Eldritch abominations have quite the chokehold over Halcyon nowadays. Some have taken to roaming in "compromised zones" within Halcyon, such as a mountainous region that separates Elslandia and Regis Maxim, now mostly abandoned and referred to as No Man's Land. Others, though, pose a much stronger threat: the ability to blend in with society. Ambitious, cunning, capable of reason — nobody quite knows the extent of their abilities. Or what they want. All that is known is that they pose a threat to Halcyon and they are not welcome here, as Halcyon's natives are prepared to show, regardless of what it takes.
And, in order to combat this menace, military academies have begun to appear across Halcyon. - This Roleplay takes place in the world of Halcyon (can be renamed) and is heavily focused on the first ever "mixed unit" that is training at a military academy in neutral territory to fight the Cryptid threat. Characters in this unit would either hail from Elslandia (land of the mages, can be renamed), Regis Maxim (land of the Espers, can be renamed), or neutral territories (the edges of No Man's Land, islands in the stretch of sea between the two continents, etc). Pre-existing races include Espers (those that can use psychical abilities), magicians (those who can cast magic), Wildfolk (non-anthro humanoids with one or more animalistic trait(s)), Myths (holy "beasts" or "gods" with human forms), Cryptids (unholy "beasts" or Eldritch abominations with human forms), Nulls (those that lack both psychical and magical talents), and more. I'm looking for another player to play about 3 to 8 characters, alongside my 3 to 8 characters to fill out our little unit. For anyone that might be interested, I have much more lore waiting for you and I'd love to hear your own ideas too! If this sounds interesting to anyone, then please send me a PM!
Thank you for reading!
