An Unconventional Adventure [Inactive]

Ireth grins a little bit and turns back to the cooking stew as he begins to speak.

"Let's save those stories for when the food is done." He says, and the little trio falls into a quick silence.

Alexandra sighs and sits close to Phoenix. She doesn't mind the girls company, in fact she actually enjoys it. Its a nice change from all the thick headed man from the castle.

Phoenix feels her cheeks grow warm as she senses Alexandra's presence next to her. She doesn't really understand how she could be getting so embarrassed over a girl she had just met. She watches the food cook slowly and notices how hungry she had been. She glances at Ireth with curious anticipation.

"Patience little bird. You must be patient." Ireth says, not looking up from his cooking. Though eventually he stands sharply and pulls the pot off the fire.

"It's done," he says, taking the wooden bowls and unceremoniously using them to scoop stew from the pot before passing hot bowls out t Alexandra and Phoenix.

Alexandra smiles and takes the bowl from Ireth. She doesn't even notice that Phoenix is turning red by her presence, but she really is not interested in anything but food at the moment. She starts to eat and smiles at Ireth, "This is really good!" she turns to Phoenix, "What do you think?"

Phoenix sips the stew daintily. She smiles wide and begins eating much more quickly and less daintily. She's so used to eating the same things over and over at home. It's nice to have a change. Seeming to suddenly remember she was in the presence of others, she suddenly straightens herself and wipes her lips on her sleeve. "It's very good!"

"Thank you," Ireth responds after the compliments before taking a sip from his own bowl.

"Now, do you think it is time for a story proper."

"I would believe so." Alexandra crosses her legs and looks at him. Wondering what type of story the elf could have.

Ireth grins and takes another sip of his soup.

"Well, where to begin." He says, and pauses to take another sip of his soup. "I hail from the far north, beyond the mountains we are going to, and the mountains beyond those as well. It's all tall grass plains and snow slickened forests. Tis' where I met my companion," He gestures towards the white stag that lays near the horse. It looks up and snorts once before returning its attention elsewhere.

"The land was not for me, and so now here I am, with you on a quest to slay a dragon."

"Well why not. I'm here for the same reasons you both are, I've things to gain." Ireth replies, and takes another spoonful of his stew.

Alexandra smirks, "Fair enough," she turns her attention to Phoenix. "What about you? Why would you want to slay a dragon?'

Phoenix's eyes widen a bit. She wrings her hands nervously. "W-Well... " she pauses and shifts her attention to the ground. She sighs "I... I did something p-...pretty bad... I guess I'm trying to redeem myself..." she trails off. "Forgiveness... something like that." She pulls her knees to her chest. "I s-suppose it's a little to much to ask, but I hope anyway."
