Rine prefers to have his combat spells prepared at all times in case of emergencies, with at least a 1/3rd of his slots left open to prepared later for utility. He typically casts Greater Resistance before rest, as well as using his Rod of Extend on Mage Amor, to gain the benefits plus his full caster slots the next day.
