-Lily-
Lily packed the last of her shirts into a suitcase, zipping it shut and taking it to the car to be packed with the others. It was move-in weekend for Amber Moon's Academy for girls, and she had the next two days to get moved in and meet her new roommate. She slammed the trunk closed and climbed into the backseat. Her father started the car without a word and pulled out of the driveway while her mother chattered on and on nonstop about how happy she was that her daughter had gotten a huge scholarship to such a prestigious all-girls school. Seventy-five percent of the tuition was paid for her, based on her grades and talents, that was what the school thought 'she was worth'. Lily was more nervous than anything. She had never been much of a people person at her old school, but maybe she would have better luck in high school. There were no boys to worry about, and since they had a school uniform, there wouldn't be any girl there who could make fun of the way she dressed. But then, there was her hair. A sweet bubblegum pink, she had just recently dyed it upon finding out she would be going somewhere new. Her parents were unhappy with this, but hadn't said anything.
They pulled up to the school and Lily's jaw dropped. It was even prettier in person! She jumped out of the car before her dad even had a chance to put it in park. Her parents helped her unload her things and they trekked across the grounds toward the dormitories, taking in the scenery on the way there. It was amazing! There was a huge quad that branched out to a few smaller quads. Girls in normal clothes talked and gossiped and giggled all over the place. None of them were in uniform since school hadn't officially started, but the uniforms were not required on weekends anyway.
They finally found the dormitories that Lily would be living in. The rooms were very simply numbered, from 1 to 100. Lily would be in room 12. She found the room and took out her room key, fumbling with the lock a little bit before getting the door opened. The room was just as pretty as the rest of the campus. She noticed that the girl she was rooming with hadn't moved in yet. She took the bed on the left, quickly throwing her suitcases and stuff onto the plush mattress and unzipping it. Her parents assisted her with getting some of her things situated, then they said their goodbyes. It was time for Lily to go off and explore the campus, meet her roommate, and make some new friends. Lily's father set her guitar case up against the wall, then her parents took their leave. Lily continued to unpack, wondering what her roommate would be like.
-Dahlia-
Dahlia's parents didn't hesitate to rush off as soon as she was situated in her new dorm room. She was in a single suite for the time being, since the girl that was supposed to be her roommate dropped out at the last minute. At least it would be peaceful. She unpacked her belongings, folding them perfectly into her dresser. She finally finished unpacking her things and debated on a huge decision; to be a hermit already, sitting in her room playing bass guitar for the rest of the night, or to go out and actually meet a few people. She sighed. She wasn't really a people person, and for now the instrument won out. She sat on her bed, quietly playing and thrilled to know that no one would hear her low bass through the thick walls of the dormitories. She was utterly alone.
As if that was anything new.
Dahlia's stomach grumbled, causing her to do the same. She figured she could run very quickly to the cafeteria, grab something to eat, and maybe get back here unnoticed. She slipped on her black shoes and a black jacket that she thought would make her stand out less, as if someone with HER looks could blend in like a plain Jane. Anyone who met her would probably think she was a model. She was effortlessly beautiful, no matter what she did or wore. She quietly left the room, starting out across the grounds. There seemed to be a lot more Freshmen than usual this year. Either people were getting smarter, or admissions were getting less competitive.
