Amada Academy

It was around five in the morning when Lorelei Pratt pushed past the front doors of Amada Academy. She made a beeline straight to the library to get in some studying before the classes started. Walking through the grand halls at this time of morning gave her an eerie feeling as the sun had yet to rise and no one - not even the custodial staff was out and about. Her footsteps echoed in the large, spacious hallways of the prestigious schools and she let her eyes wander through the intricate arches and marbled floors that made up the halls.

She stifled a yawn as she went into the library. Although classes did not yet start for another several hours, Lori liked to get in early. It allowed her to get in some studying before class as well as give her a nice reprieve from her current... situation.

Last night wasn't so bad, compared to others. She had managed to take third shift at the diner so she got out just in time to take the train to school. At least, with that, she had food in her belly and a roof over her head all night, so all in all it was fairly productive.

She yawned as the thought occurred to her. A good night, indeed, however, third shift meant no sleep for Lori since she was working all night and she was beyond tired at the moment. She tried to push it away, telling herself she could doze in the subway later or whatever as she opened up her Biology textbook.

The words blurred before her eyes, however, and before she knew it, Lori's head fell forward onto the textbook as she fell asleep in the library.

It was around 6 in the morning when his driver dropped him on the school. The luxurious sleek car take off again as soon as Ethan left the car. He walked through the halls and his footsteps echoed by the floor and wall. He went straight to the Student Council room to begin his paper work.

He didn't usually come this early, usually the earliest he arrived was 06.30 but because he was sleeping early last night and today he was awoke due a nightmare so he decided to busied himself with paperwork to distract him from that dream.

He passed down the library casually but then he abruptly stopped as he heard sounds of breathing from inside the library. Could someone be in the school this early? I wonder who is it, he thought. He tried to open the door and frowned as the doors were opened easily. Yep, someone might be inside. He quietly began to search between the shelves and he found a petite-looking girl was asleep on the book she was read.

He quietly walked over her and poked her a few times but he didn't wake up. He frowned as he noticed the bags under her eyes. He guessed this girl rarely get any sleep. He sighed as he gently lifted her head from her book and closed it before put it into her bag. He slung the bag on his shoulder before gently picked her up bridal style and walked to the infirmary that was not far from there. There are beds there so people could sleep there, he thought he could let this girl catch some sleep before the school start.

He dropped her down gently as he reached into his pocket for some keys and used it to open the door to the infirmary. He picked her up again and gently laid her on the bed and positioned her head on the pillow and pulled the blanket over her chest so she wouldn't be cold. He put the bag on the chair and pulled out a book. He ripped a page and wrote :

I found you asleep on the library so I brought you here.

Don't worry, I don't take anything from you and your Biology book is in the bag.

Rest well and don't skip class.

E

He left it on the desk beside the bed and then walked away.

(Don't worry! I haven't abandoned you! I will thankfully be on a lot more now)

Lori woke up to a soft surface, a comfort she hasn't had since well.. since the last time she was able to afford a motel for the night. Her eyes opened blearily and she blinked several times until her eyes could focus, squinting in the soft light of the morning. Her mind was fogged. She can't remember what she was doing, but when it finally came to her, she shot up in bed.

The last she remembered, she was studying in the library. Had she fallen asleep? Lori chastised herself for being so careless and falling asleep like that, this past week had been rough, but it was no excuse, she should have been more aware. She glanced up at the clock, realizing that it had only been around three hours, still early enough that the school nurse had yet to come to the infirmary but she also only had a short time before classes started.

The young girl moved off the bed, steadying herself slightly as her head spun from the sudden movement, but she quickly shook it off and moved forward, going through her stuff to make sure that everything was still there. Not that she thought the elite that attended Amada Academy would ever need to take anything from a girl like her when they could buy whatever they want. As she was going through her things, she noticed a note fluttering on the desk.

"Must be the one who brought me here," she murmured to herself. There was no name attached to the note so she had no idea who had been so kind as to carry her all the way over from the library - a feat she can imagine was not incredibly easy. She wished she knew who it was so she could thank them properly, but alas, only had a note to go by.

Shrugging her bag over her shoulder, the teen stood up and went to class. It was a bit early so the classroom was still empty, but she did not want to linger in the infirmary any longer than she had to in case the nurse should show up and begin asking questions she wasn't all that prepared to answer. When she finally arrived at the classroom, it was indeed empty, and for that she was grateful as she made her way between the rich mahogany desks to one over by the window, facing the rising sun.

((Thanks for informing! I was just get anxious if someone was online but didn't reply. And sorry the later is a bit later, the semester exams held me up from replying. Oh yeah, the note left the initial writer's name though.))

Ethan was on his way to the student council room. He would always come to the student council room first thing in the morning when he arrived in the school. This was his last year being the Student Council (SC) President, so he wanted to make the best of it. He also have the school keys copies from the janitor in case he needed it, the principal also trusted the keys to him. He fished the keys from his pocket and opened the door with it.

The door opened, revealing a bunch of paperwork to do. The council room was wide and spacious, this room even have its special janitor. The room was at 3rd floor, the highest floor in the current building. It have 4 big pillars that support the roof. The floor was made from marble and the desks was made from glass. The Council room even have its own entertainment and food service. Anyone who's tired can sleep on the sofa that can be transformed into bed. Ethan walked to the center of the room where his desk is and noting that the clean was fairly clean. He kept his bed in the locker under the desk and put on his glasses. He picked a pen and began to read through the lines.

It's no use .. Ethan thought as he put off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose 30 minutes later. He released a frustrated sigh. The girl from this morning keep haunted his mind. Somehow, he found himself thinking over and over again about that girl. He keep thinking as to why that girl was asleep in the library at this kind of hour. A janitor that live in the school once said that he saw a girl using the shower and spend the night in the school, and simply claiming that she lost track of time. But that kind of thing, even if you lost track of your time you won't be sleep in school right? It was way too lonely and cold. Doesn't she have home to return to? It must be lie if she didn't have one, everyone have. And if she was lost track of time, didn't she should be there when he do the school check-up after school that he did everyday? But he didn't see a single student so that girl must have gone when he's on patrol and back when he's home. But why did she do that?

That thoughts keep swirling inside his mind. He glanced to the clock and noted that school will be starting within one hour. Hah ... time for uniform check-ups. He stood up and picked his blazer to put it on. He took his 'Troublesome Students' Problems' paper and went down to the base floor. He slowly walked to the gate and waited for students to come up. Come to think of it, he forgotten to check the name and class of the girl that slept in the library this morning ..
