It was around five in the morning when Lorelei Pratt pushed past the front doors of Amada Academy. She made a beeline straight to the library to get in some studying before the classes started. Walking through the grand halls at this time of morning gave her an eerie feeling as the sun had yet to rise and no one - not even the custodial staff was out and about. Her footsteps echoed in the large, spacious hallways of the prestigious schools and she let her eyes wander through the intricate arches and marbled floors that made up the halls.
She stifled a yawn as she went into the library. Although classes did not yet start for another several hours, Lori liked to get in early. It allowed her to get in some studying before class as well as give her a nice reprieve from her current... situation.
Last night wasn't so bad, compared to others. She had managed to take third shift at the diner so she got out just in time to take the train to school. At least, with that, she had food in her belly and a roof over her head all night, so all in all it was fairly productive.
She yawned as the thought occurred to her. A good night, indeed, however, third shift meant no sleep for Lori since she was working all night and she was beyond tired at the moment. She tried to push it away, telling herself she could doze in the subway later or whatever as she opened up her Biology textbook.
The words blurred before her eyes, however, and before she knew it, Lori's head fell forward onto the textbook as she fell asleep in the library.
