Alerts

It seems a lot of people aren't getting alerts like before. I've missed the start of some RPs and replies adn a lot of people said they didn't get my updates in the interest check thread for my RP so I had to send out a PM to get them in the main thread


Major apologies if it's already been cleared up, just wondering what changed the past couple days (maybe a default setting?)

Sometimes if you mouse over an alert without clicking on it to visit the thread, the site will interpret that as not wanting alerts from that particular thread anymore. And sometimes, you just plain miss or don't get alerts. It happens to me a lot too, so it's not like you've messed anything up. Trying going through your list of watched threads later today and checking them all manually - you know, clicking the link and visiting the thread. That usually resets things.

From what I see you have to look at it from a previous alert to receive a new one because technically the system notified you, but if don't you look at it when you get it, it will not send you a new one.

I thought so too but tagging sometimes doesn't give alerts either, and some threads I did end up looking at and didn't get alerts for new posts.


It's weird then because there might not be a simple answer to it. Like 70% of the time I get updated, and I think it's the same for everyone i've talked to about it


Maybe we have to click on the threads to get alerted again? That would make a ton of sense

Double post but I tried welian's idea and did a test with a friend and it worked out

That's good to hear! I'm going through my threads now too, I realized while reading your post that I had been falling behind on my alerts too. ^^;
