Fantasy Age of Kings IC

Richard chose to ignore Taeko's comments about cyborg and androids, after all it was hard for outsiders to know which one his retainers were. Focusing instead on what Adela was saying she made it pretty clear she didn't know anything useful about Eldritch magic. Suddenly Adela was staring at him, from the look she was giving him she wanted Richard to share what he knew. Quietly he closed his eyes and removed his sunglasses. When he opened his eyes his pupils were glowing red and mixing with the blue irises to form an unnatural yet beautiful color. "Luckily for all of you the old Britannia archives had information on Eldritch magic. The Origin of Eldritch magic is unknown but philosophers were known to relate it to the devil. Acts of summoning damned souls, making deals with or even becoming abominations are quite common when describing Eldritch magic. User's of Eldritch magic have been reported either being burned alive by holy flame, losing their sanity, or even their lives do to their magic."

As Richard paused his pupils stopped glowing and reverted to their normal black. "Unfortunately that is all the information I have stored away. Any other information will need to be gathered or shared by someone else. Shadow King, Your forces have been in conflict with the Persian imperuim's correct? Do you have any first hand knowledge that would be useful?"

Getting weird stares and unnerving emotions from the others at the meeting, Dmitry reluctantly agreed with Boris, many of the Kings and their respective Retainers were somewhat apprehensive of him. The only King that did seem to mind his company was Adela, the Chess King. "Thank you for the kind gesture, Adela", eyeing each and everyone at the meeting table, Dmitry addressed them all. "As Adela here has mentioned, my kingdom is under threat from the Eldritch King. His Persian Imperium grows larger by the day, and before long his forces will start creeping into the southern part of my kingdom, the Balkans; and yes, I have seen him and have felt his presence. The Eldritch King has a right to be feared."

After he spoke up, Dmitry listened to one of the Machine King's Retainers give a plan to defeat the Eldritch King. Knowing full well what the Eldritch King was capable of, Dmitry just shook his head in disagreement. "It's not as simple as you make it seem. The Persian Imperium have the numbers. We collectively as Kings, with our Retainers and armies, maybe come to about half of the Eldritch King's forces. I agree with Adela, we need to find a way to breakthrough the Eldritch King's forces and somehow teleport him here. It's arduous task for sure."

Finally the Machine King spoke up and detailed information on Eldritch Magic. Hearing that Omni-Britannia had archives intrigued Dmitry greatly, any information on Eldritch Magic and it's weaknesses were greatly appreciated. Addressing the Machine King, Dmitry stated, "I very much like to see this library you have Machine King. Any information that could potential help us fight the Eldritch King would be greatly appreciated. As far as first hand knowledge, I have witnessed the Eldritch King use his magic to corrupt some of my forces with madness. A terrible sight to behold. Though in retaliation, I was able to use my darkness to imbue his forces with terrifying fear of the void. Hahaha, it was amusing to watch really."

Remembering the madness his men were induced with by the Eldritch King infuriated Dmitry. The darkness within him amplified his anger tenfold, enshrouding the meeting place with almost pitch darkness. It became eerily silent then Dmitry overtaken by his anger, yelled out in a loud but heavily distorted voice, "The Eldritch King will feel my wrath, and will fear the absolute terror of the Void!!" Then gradually his anger subsided, and the meeting place was slightly illuminated again.

"I will save you sometime on that matter, we don't have an anti magic specialist, King, or weapon. That's what we'd need to counteract the Eldritch King's magic assuming we find one without enough power and a high enough quality to work against him.

We've no choice but to use the brute force and bring him to us. Think about it, if suddenly his retainers leading the charge into the Balkans keep getting offed and pushed back eventually he is coming to the fore front to deal with the problem? It's either that or keep having his armies halted.

The teleportation has to be multi layered because one, what's to stop him from counter acting any single form of teleportation with his own power. If we use three methods by three Kings it should work especially if we set up a honing zone here in Tokyo Bay. A honing zone would be alike an amp and a beacon that would make teleporting him here easier and more precise. If use the power of the Shadow King, Lightning Emperor, and Machine King we can make a thorough honing zone and when the time comes a thorough way of teleporting the Eldritch King. " Kyoshirou explained.

Then Kyo's face darkened with some sort of realization dawning on him. Think about the rest of the Kings and then the Eldritch King. What if the Eldritch King isn't a King at all but some sort of imposter made to seem like a King. But then who could make such a thing? Why?

King's Summit - Yokohama

Adela had her eyes closed and arms propped up in a thinking posture. She'll probably make the homing zone underground or in the bay. There shouldn't be any problems for her or her retainers if its out in the bay, seeing as her cities wrap around the entire coastline. She just didn't want the eldritch king going loose in the Tokyo streets. It would be difficult to locate him once that has happened. And if the homing zone is in a isolated location, she can collapse everything to prevent the three kings from using their teleportation once the mission is completed.

She opened her eyes after finding some middle ground in her own somewhat disadvantaged part of the plan. the Lightning Emperor's retainer made a grave face. "Is something of the matter?"

Luka Cephart
He'd arrived quite some time ago, with Adela and his fellow retainer, Jack.

But, Luka was a newbie retainer and not quite so confident.

Perhaps that was the reason he choose to stay outside, Adela not seeming too fused on whether he came inside or not. So, there he was, sitting on the steps in front of the building's entrance and waiting. How long? He didn't know, and surely Luka was a little bored and just trying to occupy himself.

Trying to balance on a small curb that ran along the side of a garden bed, Luka was just trying to be good and stay out of trouble for Adela's sake. Right not really was not the time to do anything cheeky.

Especially with another king walking by.

Luka lifted his head and took a glance at the female heading for the door. The...that was the Gambling King, right?Luka wasn't sure, but he merely stared, before finally getting at least one word out.

"You're-"

He lost his balance on the ledge and stumbled off it, seeming to look like the clumsy newbie he probably was.

Taeko sighed as her question didn't get an exact answer and instead got kinda sorta answers. Nonetheless she simply listened to everyone chattering on until she noticed the Lightning Retainer's face. A wide grin stretched across her face as she pointed at him. "Uh oh I've seen that face before. That's the face of someone who just drew a bad hand. So do tell us my poor friend. What is wrong?" She asked her years of gambling and playing cards told her a face like his could only mean there was something that could possibly throw a wrench in this whole plan. From what the Shadow King spoke of this Eldritch magic was not very pleasant. Going mad wasn't something she cared to try out at this moment in time. "On the topic of things going wrong I have a favor to ask of you all. I'm sure you have a large sum of funds you are holding onto." She looked around the room to make sure the Kings were listening to her. "If this truly is supposed to be a full on no hold bars balls to the wall super mega ultra deus ex spirit final move attack. Well I feel it'd be best if you gave some of those funds to me to use for myself. Since well I do draw strength from it otherwise I run the risk of running out and then I'd be no better than a simple magician." She then made a coin appear only to make it vanish again.

Richard listened intently to the shadow king, then the lightning emperor's retainer. The man's face seemed to sour and Richard wasn't the only one to notice it. Adela spoke up to ask the man what was wrong while Taeko merely outright accused the man of hiding something. Deciding to ignore that for now Richard wanted to address a few things. "The Archive is only for Highest ranking Britannians only. I can transfer any useful files over to you but otherwise but that is the best I can do for you. Now onto the plan. Would we just wage war in the balkans or go about this more tactfully. We can have the Shadow king's forces wage war in the Balkans, My forces strike in the south western part of the Imperium, while your Japanese forces strike the eastern part of the empire. That way if something goes wrong we all won't get slaughtered in one sweep. As for you Gambling king, If you can prove your worth I can label you as an honorary Omni-Britanian giving me legal clauss to grant you state held funds, therefore increasing your power."

As the room was heating up in anticipation of Kyoshirou's answer as well as Taeko's financial/power difficulties, Adela turned her eye to Richard. "Richard, I say this as a fellow King in an already distraught world, please reconsider your words. Even if it is beneficial for Taeko to do so, having a King become what is essentially a retainer, even if it is momentarily and through citizenship, would surely hurt the pride of any king and create a rather nasty precedent for all kings around the world. If you truly wish to impart her with power, use the method of giving foreign aid in times of crisis to other nations as your precedent." She turned to face Taeko. "How much would allow you to partake in battle for 2 days and a night? I will have Luka and Jack prepare an appropriate amount on the understanding that this money is being used solely the war against the Eldritch King." As this is one of the first meetings of kings that have ever occurred, she didn't want any of them to set a dangerous precedent.

"It's nothing that I should voice without being able to substantiate it, just unnecessary thoughts would be in your heads. It doesn't change the fact that we must fight and defeat the Eldritch King. Now if we strike three separate parts of the Imperium that means the Emperor could come to any one of the three locations which would be bad because we need all three kings in one place for a secure teleportation. You don't have to actually bring your armies, except the Shadow King's forces. Your armies are not important, the Kings is what will draw out the Eldritch King. Unless all three Kings want to commit a raid on the Persian Imperium's capital to take the Eldritch King from his home." Kyoshirou explained to the Kings. This summit has been going on longer than he anticipated it would, what would be bad is if the Eldritch King just blitzed the, right now out of nowhere.

Richard's attitude suddenly shifted, his face a moment before showed at least a slimmer of emotion now was completely stoic, even his eyes seemed lifeless. "You will have to forgive me but I could care less about yours or anyone other kings pride. Pride is nothing more than a fool's tool to avoid making decisions. My offer will remain the same and it is up to her if she accepts it. " Turning to face the ambassador once more. "Every minute we waist here are chances of survival go down. When do we put the plan into action?

Taeko didn't waste any time worrying about such petty things like pride. She nodded her head in agreement with Richard. "I appreciate the thought Adela but it's no secret that I've long since thrown away my pride. One can't become known as the Gambling King if they hold onto things like pride a morals." She looked towards Richard hold out a hand. "I'll do I don't care if you gotta brand me or rewire me I'll become an Omni-Britanian." One look at Taeko would tell you she wasn't joking or lying she genuinely had no care what happened to her Taeko often didn't think about the dangers she put herself into. This tended to extend to friends as well which is part of why Taeko had yet to go out and find any Retainers she didn't wanna have to worry about herself as well as someone else. "I also agree we shouldn't waste too much time or else we will lose the element of surprise."

Jack accidentally leans the wrong way to stretch and his chair starts tipping. Thinking quickly he moves through the floor, steadies the chair, and sits backs down as if nothing happened. Then he remembers that his passage causes a knocking sound and he tries to look like he doesn't notice. He keeps his eyes on his book and tries not to draw attention.

Adela Elwyn
King's Summit - Yokohama

Seeing as her attempts to not allow Taeko to become a retainer were rebuffed by both parties, Adela quietly withdrew her concerns. She was more or less aware that the pride of others were not on the Machine King's mind and Taeko... well Taeko is Taeko. Her only concern was that it would only be money that she's given, not the Machine King's power. Adela didn't like the idea of Kings being able to give other kings abilities, regardless of whether its theory or not. Simply put, it would lead to the same situation they're already facing, a seemingly unstoppable force with power that would require the cooperation of several kings. Perhaps what was worrying her the most was that other kings would look to this moment as justification of not only obtaining kings as retainers, but forcing kings to give them their powers. Well, really the only thing holding back the future really was pride now...

Adela stared forward to the other kings. "Then I withdraw my objections. I'll go ahead and begin my preparations, seeing as I don't have any need to partake in the invasion." She stood up as her chair disappeared back into floor. "Please send the Lightning Emperor my thanks and good luck. Same to the rest of you. May you be victorious in battle." She turned to the door and left. Of course, she left the barrier standing and could easily repair and open it for when the Kings depart.

Once she was outside the conference with her retainers, she said "Gather everyone at the SkyTree. We must make haste with our preparations."

Miyako Koizumi

Miyako snickered at the fallen Jack from her position in the floor. She had gotten use to the feeling, it was like being stuck in the sand on a beach, just a really really tough sand. The Tokyo Banana was nice and sweet, and she was given some water by a kind servant earlier. Still though, she stood (sat?) there down to her waist with her arms crossed snickering at Jack. As the King of the Cities stood up and walked back her, she felt the floor loosen and push her leg up above it. I am free. Quickly her eyes were alight with the passion of a mischevious as she stood up and walked to Kyoshirou, where upon she stole one of the snacks that he was eating. IF THIS MEETING IS ENDING SOON, I'M TAKING AS MUCH AS I CAN!!! Miyako was sneakily stuff herself, even though she stood in plain sight. She figured that since Kyo was a retainer, she could do such things in front of the other Kings. She clearly wasn't paying much attention to the plan, which really hasn't been well explained in the first place.

"For the sake of not getting blitzed, this meeting will be considered adjourned. My king will be in contact with the Kings present here today. Make preparations and we'll enact the plan when everyone is ready." Kyoshirou concluded. He turned to Miyako as she seemed to be helping herself to the snacks. "Mischievous child.... we have to go." He stood from his chair and walked to the edge of building, he then stepped right of the edge and using Supercharge to enhance his body ran down the side of building and entered a normal stride at the bottom on the ground.

(I'd say my next post will be a timeskip over which our characters will prepare to enact the plan)

Jack bows. "I'm the Puck to your Oberon, my King. I go where you will." He sinks into the ground, the knocking sound getting further and further away.
Jack spends several hours delivering the message to the relevant parties (and making sure they realize the penalties for not arriving). He also took the time to grab his go bag, fill it with snacks and books he'd been meaning to read, and enough batteries to ensure that even if he couldn't recharge from an outlet he'd be able to listen to his podcasts.
He returns to Adela's side, rising slowly out of the ground and springing into a salute. "Done."

The meeting came to an end with Adela, her retainers, and the Lightning emperors ambassador leaving to make their preparations. The humming of a ships engine could be heard as the transport that the Omni-Britannians arrived in appeared at the edge of the meeting floor. Richard turned to face Taeko. "I like your spirit. " he told her as he rose from his seat. "I will put you through a more advanced version of our standard cybernetic conversion system. If you survive it then you will have reinforced limbs letting you hit harder, run faster, boost your stamina, and slightly boost your ability to process information. You won't be able to talk to computers or anything like that but it will give you a bit of an upgrade with the added bonus of a paycheck on the side. Fair warning the conversion system will be exceedingly painful as it will break your bones one by one and rebuild them stronger than before. Even if given pain medication many aren't able to handle it. If you still wish to test your luck then I will happily initiate the operation as soon as we return to London." He told her.

As he was speaking his eyes caught the sight of movement in the form of a girl stuck in the ground. How had he not notice it earlier. No that isn't correct he did notice it earlier but he hadn't cared to remember it until her movement caught his eye. Poor girl it looked like the person who trapped had either forgotten to free her or they had "forgotten" to free her. Either way some one had to let her go. "Excuse me for a moment" he told said to Taeko as he walked over to the girl. Getting down onto one knee he placed his right hand onto the girls head. His pupils flashed red and the girl dispapered only to reappear sitting on the chair that Richard was in a moment ago.

Standing up he turned around and started walking towards the transport. "I will see you shortly shadow king. I wish you well with the battle and I promise you that I will bring reinforcements once the time to enact the plan." he said to the shadow king as he stepped onto the transport. "Zeta, Ruleta, we are leaving. Miss Taeko are you coming with us?"

It seemed this meeting was wrapping up Taeko looked to Richard as he explained what he could do for her. The method sounded extremely painful the smell of ash filled Taeko's nose. She didn't bother asking if anyone else smelt it she knew it was simply her mind playing tricks on her. She looked up at Richard smiling. "I bet burning alive would hurt a lot more though right?" She joked as she stepped closer towards the transport with him. "In case you didn't get that I'm saying I'm coming along." The smell of ash faded as Taeko shut her eyes then opened them. "Trying my luck is what I do best after all," She looked back to Adela. "Oh and Adela thanks for worrying I guess but I'll be fine. I've gotten this far haven't I?" The more Taeko hung around these people and all there fancy talk the more she felt so out of place. They all had so much riding on this battle they carried so much more than just there own goals and dreams. Being a King meant you carried the dreams of others along with your own it means you have to be the pillar that holds everyone up. Each King she meant gave her a better and more clear idea of what it took to be a King. As far as Taeko had seen she possessed only one of these qualities a King's Crest.

King's Summit - Yokohama

Miyako thanked the Machine King and continued to grab as many snacks as possible. Seeing Kyo jump off the side of the building, Miyako finished stuffing her pockets and ran right toward the edge, charging up her super charge, letting several yellow hexagons appear on her. Jumping over, she fell with a smile of excitement. Compared to Kyo's elegant run down the side, Miyako just freefalled and clenched her bandages wrapped fists, exerting her Ki and Supercharge. Using raw force, she punched the air, letting out her Ki into the ground, which rebounded and served as her cushion. Still though, she landed with an impact. Standing up, she checked that her snacks were in her pockets before putting her hands behind her head and walked up to Kyo. "So, what now? The invasion plan doesn't feel like a proper one. If it was an infiltration, then it'd be fine, but this is the equivalent of a siege. Does our Lord have a proper plan?" Now her face wasn't one of a child, but rather one closer to a battle maniac.

Adela, having finished her farewells with the others, lowering the barriers, and repairing the conference building, was resting in her King Chess Piece, the SkyTree, several hours later. Formerly the world's tallest building, it has become a symbol of Adela's power in Urban Magic, as she reformed it entirely to look like a King from a chess piece. This building towered over everything in sight, all except Mt. Fuji in the distance. She sat at the top in a small lounge, staring out to the the Tokyo Bay. As Jack relayed his report, Adela smiled and headed to the elevator. "Get Naomi and Luka. I'll be talking with the Director of the Civilian Police Force in the meantime." Adela went to one of the offices inside the SkyTree and informed the Director of the incoming battle plans, telling the police to double their vigilance in preparation.

Richard nodded in acknowledgement to Taeko's agreement to his plan. He believed that she would survive the conversion and once she did she would be more powerful then ever. One might wonder why Richard was even offering this deal, well for him it was an easy answer. Not only did this give them a powr boost when fighting the Eldrich king but it also farther his own personal goal. Richard wanted to see humanity entered into it's next evolutionary state, it was his kings power that turned him into a cyborg so he couldn't count on using himself as research. This experiment involving Taeko would be the first of it's kind and he hoped it would be a success. As Richard was in though the transport would take them back to the ariship which would take them to London.

Once they arrived in the Royal palace in Lodon Richard wanted to begin the experiment. He took Taeko down to the underground testing facility located under the palace. Leading the other king through the maze of the facility they arrived at one room which Richard promptly opened. Inside the room was bright white and almost completely empty. In the center of the room was a single table with multiple wires that lead to a series of computers. Stepping inside he motioned for Taeko to head to the table. "Miss Taeko if you would please lay down on the table." As he waited for Taeko to lay down on the table he sent a message to Ruleta. "I require your assistance in testing room 06C. I would appreciate it if you could arrive quickly."

Ruleta quickly moved once she had gotten Richards message unsure of what he needed assistance with. It took a while to get to her destination, although she was hard working physically she was lacking. Knocking before entering the room Ruleta turned to Richard to show her presence as to not interrupt anything. Curious as to what he needed her for Ruleta turned to Taeko, "What is it you require?" the question was directed towards Richard although her attention wasn't towards him.

Jack moves quickly, finding Naomi and Luka and informing them of their orders. He then goes to his apartment and spends the remaining time ensuring nothing will go wrong in his absence.
Newspaper deliver will be canceled until he gets back, he'll read the online edition.
He'll keep the cable and internet package, he can afford it.
He ensures there won't be any developments on construction or the like.
With that done he returns to his King's side.

Naomi.png
Naomi was up to her usual job keeping watch of the city high atop a skyscraper. Hearing the sound of knocking Naomi didn't even look already knowing who was there. "What is it Jack?" As he gave her the orders she nodded her head watching him sink into the ground. No matter how many times she had seen it the display always looked pretty cool to Naomi. She figured it wouldn't be too useful to her but Jack seemed real good at using it to his advantage. Taking the elevator down to the bottom floor Naomi took a taxi to the SkyTree. Entering she quickly found Adela bow her head quickly to her King before standing straight again. "So how did the meeting go?" Naomi hadn't attended the meeting she was too busy keeping watch of the city while Jack, Adela and Luka were all busy at the meeting. From what little she had heard they were going to war or something soon. It made Naomi wonder just how far away was the peace she followed Adela for. The woman always did seem to find a way to put things in order. It seemed half the time her very presence demanded order. Naomi hadn't had the pleasure of meeting many of the other kids aside from of course Taeko who lived within Adela's territory.

Taeko was exactly the opposite of Adela everywhere she sent chaos followed. Thanks to her wild bets and her ability to make all deals a reality things often got out of hand thanks to her. Not to mention any money that becomes Taeko's pretty much is as good as gone. Naomi has no clue why she hoards so much money and doesn't spend any of it. Letting go of the thought Naomi turned her attention back to Adela after all Taeko wasn't her problem.

Taeko.jpg
Taking in the vibrant scene of Omni-Britannia Taeko saw many large buildings and many people. It reminded her of the streets in Tokyo just as many people and just as orderly. Only it seemed somewhat more robotic not in there motions just in the feeling of the place. Perhaps this was thanks to their ruler being an actual Cyborg himself or was he an Android once again Taeko couldn't tell the difference. None the less she found the trip to the Royal palace to be a nice one and when they arrived she was once again impressed by the building. The lab had also caused awe in Taeko as she had never seen anything like it in Japan. "So is there where your gonna do your spooky experiment on me?" She asked wiggling her fingers in a childish manner if you were to ask Taeko would claim to not be scared. Yet that wasn't true at all only a crazy person would be calm in this situation. Taeko wasn't the Gambling King for nothing her poker face was one of legends there was no stutter in her voice or shaking in her body. Taeko looked just as happy and excited as always but underneath she wondered what this would do to her. She wasn't worried she would die she knew she was too strong for that but she feared what her mind would go through. Would she still be Taeko after everything was all said in done would she forget anything at all. Forget her name, her title of King, her powers, or....them. Taeko didn't wanna forget anything the very thought rattled in her heart but she was snapped out of her thoughts when the female robot who had threatened her before arrived.

"Hey it's you again. It must be fate that binds the two of us? Do you guys believe in fate or is that too out there?" She had to wonder how people who lived by calculations and data explained things like luck. How would they fair in a game of cards where it didn't matter how well you calculated one wrong hand meant losing. The girl's previous threat still rested in Taeko's mind. "Oh yeah I'd love to see what you meant when you said. 'that you can beat yourself in cards'." She said attempting to mimic the female's voice. "It sounded super interesting can you like copy movements or maybe you mimic abilities you've seen?" Once again this would seem like Taeko's usual behavior but in reality this was nothing more than Taeko's attempt to keep her mind away from the terrifying idea that she might lose what makes her Taeko.

"It's not a siege but a simple baiting maneuver for the Eldritch King." Kyoshirou replied to his fellow retainer as they went on their way to rendezvous with their King. Kyoshirou drew his sword and infused it with electricity, he pointed it at the sky then made it spark in a very specific sequence. Then suddenly a lightning bolt rain down from the sky encompassing both Kyo and Miyako warping them to the summit of Mount Fuji.

Raikou say there with his back to them gazing out at the world but not at the literal world but the future. Raikou had some fresh wounds on him as if he had just been in a fight not too long ago and forgot to heal the minor wounds he has. Whatever was on Raikou's mind was definitely related to his absence from, the King's Summit. He rurned around to face his retainers and asked "I assume they chose to go along with my plan."

"Yes my lord." Kyoshirou replied.

"Are you two ready to get you hands dirty, hehe?"

Adela had finished her meeting with the Director of the Civilian Police Force. Even though they have no choice but to obey her, they still took it in stride, something that She was happy for. As she was sitting in a waiting room, waiting for her lower rank retainers to gather in the auditorium, Adela was warping a sheet of paper using her power on the palm of her hand. It shifted from design to design, as Adela was figuring out how to make the arena to be used as their battlefield. Looking up to see Naomi, Adela smiled. "It went about as well as you can expect with Taeko there. Unfortunately we'll be playing the role of the final strike in this war. Don't worry, we'll build the battlefield in the middle of the bay."
