Aleksandros found the cook to be an odd fellow. Very open about his background, if it was true. He would be better fitted to be a bar brawler than a cook. Nonetheless, he appreciated the man's kindness and compassion. He seemed to be very interested and dedicated to his profession, a trait Aleksandros believed rare and very admirable. The menu that was slapped down in front of him was massive. Half of these foods he had never had or heard of. One thing Tunis lacked was exotic foods. But he resolved to treat himself after a hard few months of campaigning in Europe, and decided on a pint of House Pilsner and an exotic-sounding bird known as Turkey. Following the instructions for summoning waiters, he got the attention of one and told them his order.

While he waited for his order to be processed, he thought about how mighty Ba'al Hammon had multiple residences within this city. He had to stay in them. Such a chance could only come once in a lifetime.

~Michiel~
The Wicked Wand
Heading towards the East alongside a large road, the storefronts and food places were more spread out than they were along the main strip. There were a number of places that were not on the map that were in equally numerous languages. Michiel, as well as the others who decided to walk a similar direction, were getting a lot of attention. It seemed most eyes were on them, and people were curious. This was especially the case the further along he went, as it seemed to get into a mix between apartments and stores.

All the same, he would eventually get to his destination. The Wicked Wand. It looked much the same as other buildings in the area, and apartment buildings were atop it like they might be in New York. The atmosphere was calm, modern, and fit the massive windows that adorned the front wall. There was a waitress out front at a podium to greet him. She picked up a menu, and in an almost sickeningly sweet voice, she asked, "Table for one? Outside or in, booth or chairs?"

waitress2.jpgShe took him to his choice with a smirk, chuckling to herself as she placed down the menu in front of him, "So are you a demigod or something? I heard that your sort might be in town."

The woman was impressively attractive, with eyes like honey with a light shining through it and a waitress dress that seemed just a little too short, not to mention the cutesy white stockings that complimented it. Her cherubic voice rang out again, "Oh, silly me. I didn't introduce myself. My name is Anise. I'll be your server today. Feel free to take a look at the menu. I'll be back for you shortly~"

With that, she turned and left, almost giving him a bit of a show in her twirling.

Close to five minutes later, she returned, smiling as always, "Well~ Ready to order?"

potential.jpgZekera snapped back to reality at the mention of her name. "Hm?" she mused, cupping a hand against her cheek as she looked to him, "Oh. Where do I plan to go? Well... To food, first. I imagine we could find something good around. Perhaps something Greek?"

She sighed, "As far as housing goes... I'm not sure. Artemis sounds like she'd be a bit overbearing. Zeus is, as far as his myths go, a massive asshole. Dionysus sounds fun but potentially really messy, like I'd wake up hungover without ever remembering having anything to drink. Tyche is... that's Fortuna too, right? I don't know enough about her to even have a guess as to what housing with her would be like. Thor sounds like a bit of a jock from his myths. Loki sounds like his housing would be a handful, but at least it'd be fun. Freyja might be overbearing too? I dunno. Bastet seems really cool. Durga I don't know. Cthulhu's creature is a hard pass. Ryūjin I don't know... and Amaterasu sounds pretty cool. So... I guess my options are between Dionysus, Tyche, Bastet, and Amaterasu?"

She bit her lip, pausing for a moment, "Why? Did you want to try to end up at the same place?"

The Solemn God

Frozen partially out of fear and an unwillingness to leave the safety of the theater, Mia stayed long, long after everyone else left. Who knew what was out there waiting to tempt her? However, once her stomach complained once more with a ferocious growl, she quickly scrambled out of her seat and left. She had this bag of gold, but didn't seem too keen on carrying a map. She did recall the Fae Grotto was somewhere to the... West? Or was it East?

During that thought, Mia's skin began to crawl and shiver. Her baser instincts were about to take hold to devour whatever was in sight. Eyes wide with fear, Mia broke into a sprint as she ran down the street, her head turning both directions as she hastily looked for a place to eat. As she ran, every civilian walking by her looked different...

13 days of nutrition. 115,000 calories. Bone structure favorable for assimilation...

How did she know that? The thought scared her as she finally somehow stumbled into the North, barging into a place called.... The Solemn God? Interesting.

Now was not the time for idle thoughts though. Mia would run up to the closest person, server or not, in the store and shove the gold to them

"PLEASE! I want everything! Just give me EVERYTHING!"

Her voice sounded stranger than usual... Distorted almost, as if she was being submerged underwater.

16df444e824ff093dcf1a07913b3e1e2.pngChrysos patiently waited as she talked. it was great that she agreed with him on not going with Zeus and he was more than overjoyed at her decision of not going with Artemis as well. He pondered the four choices she said. " Hmm Dionysus... god of the feast and of wine... In rome he goes by Bacchus... if we are Demigods in all likelihood He is the woman with the giant swords father... considering what I did I'd rather Avoid him. Tyche is the goddess of luck so hard to say for me. I know little of Amaterasu and Bastet. " He replied to her query of the four gods. after listening to her questions he seemed a bit shocked. Quickly thinking of a way to avoid the question he simply answered. " Nonsense. I simply wish to know where you'll be staying. After all, it is every gentlemans job to escort a lady to their home. And I intend to hold up my values as a gentleman even in the realm of the gods. " He said proudly as flicked his hair out of his face some a knife accidentally falling out of his sleeve from the flicking motion. "... May you pretend you didn't see me mess up?" He asked sheepishly as he slipped the knife back into his sleeve, he hated messing up in front of people. After all his party tricks took years of training, so to mess up hurt his pride.

The area was very urban, but not like the slums he used to live in or the smallish towns tucked deep inside the South African countryside. It was a sleek and clean place, reminding him of the books he read about distant cities like New York and Amsterdam. To walk into those streets would be a dream come true. "Aye, I am, ma'am. Son of Hades and a loving Dutch mother." he said, answering her first question. He took a quick scan of the menu, and saw that it all seemed pretty expensive. Raised in a poorer area of South Africa, he was taught to save, save, save, and to only buy stuff when he really needed to. This seemed to be one of those times. "Pleasure to meet you, Anise. I'll take a glass of House Gewurztraminer, a Fish Stew, and the Herb-crusted Duck, please."

maat.jpgMa'at shook her head, "You really don't need to be so humble about yourself. You've proven yourself time and time again to be capable... although to be honest this group may prove to be quite the handful."

She walked down off the stage and looked over the unconscious girl, "Just leave her here. Leave a note on her chest. Hopefully, she will sober up by the time she wakes up, and with the note, she will have the proper instructions. Her sort of misbehavior should not be coddled or in any way put up with. It may sound harsh, but it will get the point across swiftly. If she wants to live, she'll have to learn how to handle her impulses. That starts now."

Ma'at cleared her throat. "Now then," she said, smiling at Nadee as she put a hand on her shoulder, "I'm going to go to The Solemn God. Would you like to head over there with me? They have a wonderful assortment of food, and I can't imagine too many of the demis would have gone there." Regardless of her answer, whether she had a friend for the food or not, she headed out to the eatery.

The goddess let her eyes drift over the occupants of the restaurant as she entered, counting the demis she could see before smiling to the waitress sweetly, "Umakoti! Wonderful to see you this fine afternoon. I don't suppose you have room for a few more?"

The waitress, distracted from what she had previously been doing (which was mostly attempting not to laugh at this poor boy's attempts to speak), moved over to greet Ma'at. She hadn't even answered the boy yet, beyond staring at him in confusion.

"Always do~ Have a seat wherever and I'll get your order shortly."

She turned back to the boy, "Yes, the books are 'for read'. You don't need to be so uptight. I'm not a goddess. I'm not going to bite your head off or something... but ah... what sort of pop? You didn't say."

Then to the one who had so rudely barged in, clearing her throat, "You haven't yet read the menu. Get ahold of yourself. I will get you something to calm down while you actually think about what you want. 'Everything' is vague." Half a minute later, she hurried back with a bowl of hearty, reddish, indeterminate soup, which she then placed in front of the girl.

Thank goodness. There was a commotion at the entrance of the restaurant, which caused the waitress's attention to be drawn away from Xander. Please leave, please leave, please leave. Glancing up, his eyes widened as he took in the goddess Ma'at. Don't leave don't leave don't leave! What was a goddess doing at a small restaurant like this!? Unhelpfully, his mind reminded him that not only was this a city full of deities, but the restaurant itself was literally named The Solemn God. Doing his best to become invisible behind the waitress, he listened as she and Ma'at exchanged pleasantries. He jolted a little when Umakoti turned back to him with amusement in her eyes. "Yes, the books are 'for read'. You don't need to be so uptight. I'm not a goddess. I'm not going to bite your head off or something... but ah... what sort of pop? You didn't say."

Xander prayed that the combination of his complexion and the dark lighting in the restaurant hid the complete reddening of his face. "Cola," he managed to say in response. The fact that Ma'at and that snake lady were watching this all go down was not helping him. Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, another girl entered and drew the attention off of him again with her wailing. Frustrated, Xander pulled up the hood of his jacket in a attempt to obscure his face a little. I thought the restaurant was called The Solemn God. It didn't seem that solemn or quiet now. Glancing at the bookshelves surrounding his table, Xander felt curiosity pierce through his dark mood. I hope they have something in English. Getting up from his seat, the brunet wandered over the shelves closest to him. It didn't matter if the books had familiar titles or not, he was hoping that they'd have some useful information he could glean from them about either the pantheons, the city, or something about what was going on.

Heading towards the West alongside a large road, the storefronts and whatnot were spread out much further than they were along the main strip. Just the same, the buildings were older in this direction, especially the further one went. It seemed as though this was the more original section of the city. All the same, she would eventually get to his destination. The Excited Hydra. It looked much the same as other buildings in the area, a one-story building that looked like it was made out of stucco overtop of stone. The atmosphere was calm, quaint, and the restaurant looked like it came straight out of a village. There was a waitress in the doorway as she walked up. She had a menu in her hands and a quiet voice. In Greek, she asked, "Table for one?"

waitress3.jpgShe had brown hair drifting down to her lower back and a pleasant expression on her petite face. She was wearing greek robes instead of typical, modern clothing, and smiled at Andraste, "I'm pleased to see that someone headed down this way. I didn't expect to see many people today. What brought you around?"

The woman set the menu down on a table gently, which already had a glass of water on it, "Feel free to order anything you'd like. Just let me know. We don't have a massive menu. For drinks, there is water, a variety of tea, coffee, or some lemonade."

f7cba9ebc5fe7ce060cca3a4f07738c6.png"Y-yes ma'am." Nadee replied quickly writing a note before slithering after ma'at. It had been forever since she visited the realm of the gods. Most Naga stayed within their kingdom. She was one of the few Nomads who travelled the world and the God's realm. She didn't know why but under her humble attitude she was bursting with pride. She was personally asked by Ma'at for assistance! She bet no other Naga could have said that but she could! She'll do her best to repay her trust in her. As she though without paying attention to her surroundings she only now realized they were already in a restaurant. Looking the chairs and withholding a sigh of sadness seeing they were normal she sat down across from Ma'at and took a look at the menu.

Mia stared around her as more people shuffled in. There was that egyptian goddess, and others. Wow. There were other people in here. Mortified, Mia silently shuffled into a booth with the soup. She still had a loose grip on the bag of gold as her entire body crawled. She needed more than this soup. Much more.

Just as she thought no one was looking she grabbed the bowl with both hands and chugged the entire hot broth. Not enough substance to it. As she felt eyes around her she sulked back into the seat, praying the server would return soon.

But now was a good chance to ask. What was that ‘creature of cthulhu?’

Remaining seated, Mia instead just awkwardly stared at the goddess. Which would seem normal if her eyes stayed in the same place on her own head.

Andraste hadn't ever been stared at by so many people before, but she wouldn't be daunted by eyes. It would take more than that to scare a daughter of a war god. She glared back, hand rested on her sword, and continued her confident march to her target. It was like she had expected: a simple place manned by simple people. In very accented but fluent Greek, she replied, 'I would like a water with a gyro pita." Then, almost as an afterthought, she forced out, "Please."

Hotaru Igarashi (蛍 五十嵐) - 19 - Student
mid_114806_6029.jpg

The morning was blue and there was no clouds in the late spring sky, the sun beating down on the early farmers who were getting their fields prepared for the next seasons crops. The birds sung loudly followed by roosters crowing from the morning's dawn. Hotaru was already awake for the day, getting dressed in her traditional miko attire before tying her hair back in red ribbons. Looking at herself in the morning, she gave her reflection a cheeky smile of approval before leaving to start the morning's chores.

Although maintaining the shrine was a tough job for one shrine maiden to handle, Hotaru saw this opportunity as a way to keep herself occupied and her mind sharp.. (She was also a bit of neat freak but we're not gonna talk about that) Feed the roosters and chickens, clean the windows, clean the floors, polish the statues, bring an offering to Raiden's statue, sweep the grounds outside, make breakfast, take a nap, and among other miscellaneous things that had her running back and forth constantly for the first part of her morning.

It wasn't until noon that Raiden came to talk to Hotaru, his attempt at closing the several years that he was gone. "Hey there.. kiddo" He was awkward and sometimes a bit strange when talking to his daughter, although her reaction to him wasn't much better. This whole father-daughter relationship was new to both of them but they were both also trying to make it work. "Oh.. hello... Kaiden" Awkwardness lingered between the two before silence was broken by the low scratchy voice of the God, "Nice weather we're having." Giving a bit of a nervous laugh, hoping that his daughter would somehow forgive him for his lack of better conversation starters. "Right." Returning his laugh with a slight smile of her own, the type of pity smile that makes you feel bad about yourself for even opening your mouth. For a God that is feared by many for his destructive power, her father was a rather awkward man who did not seem like he could even talk to females without having a nervous breakdown.

"OK! Well... good work kiddo! I'm heading to the store, would you like anything?" Hotaru understood that he was trying his best, giving him a nod and another smile, but her smile was a bit more genuine this time. "Green tea.. please." "The ones from the vending machines? The canned one-" Their conversation was cut short as a glowing portal began manifesting beneath her feet, pausing both of them in their tracts. "You'll be ok." Raiden's voice and expression both turned serious yet somehow comforting, "Da-" Before even being able to finishing her words, she slipped through the rip and found herself underwater.

Where am- I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe, her surprise turned into panic as she began trying to swim towards what she believed to be the surface. The water's surface broke with a soaking wet Hotaru as the source of the sudden disruption of tranquility, her bobbing body rippling the water before remembering that swimming wasn’t her strongest suit and that land was most likely her best bet at surviving. Upon making it to the shore, she looked back at where she had begun and saw that the body of water she was in was just a small pond within some sort of garden. Looking at it from the shore, it seem much shallower and smaller than it actually was, such a deceiving pond. She thought that she may have landing in some sort of lake or some sort of large open body of water, not a small duck pond.

Letting out a deep exhale, her first plan of action was to ring herself dry and afterwards, find someone to answer her questions, and go home and beat up her lame father who did nothing but let her fall into who knows where?? "What was up with him? 'You'll be ok' my ass! Thanks for nothing you unless old man!" Mumbling to herself as she began ringing out her attire, not necessarily scared of where she was but mostly confused and slightly annoyed.

1554387284621.png"That'll be 3 silver and 9 copper," Andhrímnir said in his booming voice once he appeared again, smiling down happily at the man with a tray in his hand. He set everything down, "I'm going to guess ya don't know much about the city yet... and that probably includes the coinage. I'll save ya the trouble and just explain it. It's a ten ten ten system. Ten copper to a silver, ten silver to a gold, ten gold to a platinum. Simple enough. Most common used is the gold though."

The food would be fantastic, the turkey perfectly cooked, the beverage well-brewed. Fairly obviously food cooked by a god of food.

"Hopefully ya like it. It's a little hard bein' a chef in a place where most of the occupants don't actually need to eat - they sure do like their liquor though! Feel free ta ask me any questions, alright?"

1554393096680.pngZekera found herself blushing, smiling a little at the quirky boy once again. She was a little put off by the fact that he had weapons coming out of every possible spot on his body, it seemed, but if she ignored that oddity, he was pretty cute. Just... hopefully not a cute serial killer.

She giggled at his slip up and shook her head, simply taking his hand and tugging along out of the theatre.

"Come on," she said cheerfully, "If we're gonna be stuck here, we may as well enjoy ourselves. Let's get some food. Where do you want to go? I'm sure they have some Greek, given how predominately known the Greek pantheon is on Earth. Also... I think I want to choose Tyche. Goddess of luck won't be that bad, right?" Going wherever he decided to go for food, she spent a while contemplating before something seemed to dawn on her.

"Oh! That girl. How long will she be down for, anyway??"

Aleksandros grabbed his little pouch of gold and put five gold coins on the counter for Andhrimnir. "For good food and good company." he said. The food was simply divine, each bite a treat for for gods and kings. But he wanted to learn a bit about where he was. Perhaps this cook would be a good source of local information? In between bites, he asks, "So, sir, where on Earth is this city exactly? And why is everyone staring at me whenever I walk around? Surely they've seen mortals before."

The person looks like a cute small female "Cute." She said as she walks up to the female looking person "Hello." She said to the person as the person nervously look around "A-are you talking to me?" they said in a female like voice as they looked around. "Well you are the only person here..." Alice responded as she inspected the person "What's your name?" she asked...as the person fidgets abit "B-Blair." they said as Alice looked at Blair blankfully "U-Uh are you t-there?" Blair said nervously as Alice sighed "Yeah..." She said as she look around "You wanna come with me?" Alice said. Blair looked around nervously "S-sure." Angelic Cafe sounds lovely?" He chimed with a smile. he stretched some standing up as he gave his hand to help her up. " I suppose I shall also stop by Tyche then. " he added with a smile. It was truly a pleasure to talk with her. And he wouldnt lie to say he wanted to spend more time with her.

a883fce03dc06e43abc5862d9d1f0632.pngAs Ma'at and Nadee sat down and began chatting a figure slowly entered the restaurant. With a sword on his hip and a collapsed spear on his back he seemed to radiate a feeling that made you want to bow in front of him. With a proud gait he walked straight to up to the two and without even asking he gently pulled out a chair and sat down across from Ma'at. " My My haven't you guys been busy. I go live on Earth for less then a few decades to repay a favor and you manage to get a war riled up. " finally he looked up parting away a bit of his hair with a smile, But to the gods you could tell there was a hint of rage. As if he was just pulled back from a vacation for work. This proud man was none other then Lugh, A celtic god of Crafts, skills and kingship. " Now then, as a gesture. Why don't I Pay for your while you explain what the hell is going on. I was calming living in Scotland and helping dealing with a demigod kid when suddenly I got a call from her mother saying she disappeared. So... which god needs to die so I can go home!" he slightly raised his voice before quickly calming himself down with a sigh as his hand twitched.

The Wicked Wand
560156"Son of Hades? I thought that that god was pretty loyal to his wife if I'm honest. A little strange, but all the same, a wonderful one to have as a father...," she mused, pouting a little at his lack of reaction to her flirtatiousness.

Anise smiled, however, and nodded, "I'll get that to you then. Hopefully, you enjoy." She moved off quickly, coming back after a short time with his beverage and the fish stew. She set the two down and smiled again, "We're working on your duck. All told, it'll be 2 gold, 6 silver, and 4 copper. Please let me know if you have any questions. I know the demi-gods are pretty new to the city, so I imagine they must be - well, you must be fairly confused and off-put. I wouldn't mind helping how I can with that confusion."

"One moment," she held up a finger and darted back off to the kitchen, returning with his duck, "Our chef is quick. Here you go. I hope you enjoy."

"So... do tell. Where are you staying around here, anyway?"

The Solemn God
560212The waitress sighed and put back on her smile, calming herself down after the mess that had just walked through the door. It wasn't going to be a nice, quiet lunch rush, she supposed. Between goddesses and gods and these new demi-divine, it was now... busy. Umakoti moved quickly, however, setting down the one boy's cola before moving on to the girl who was freaking out about her hunger.

"We will do this piecemeal. 1 silver, 2 copper," she said, placing down a large basket full to the brim with jerky strips, "I'm going to assume you're the kid of some sort of glutton god/goddess, or perhaps one of the eldritch ones. The jerky is especially filling. Hopefully, it will help. Just try to breathe and eat slowly. There are a lot of options on the menu. What would you like me to get you after you've finished that basket?"

Umakoti took down her order and left her to her own devices once again. She moved on to Ma'at and Nadee, "Alright. Sorry for the wait. What would you two like to eat?"

"I'll have a Roasted Rabbit and Iceberg Salad to start and a Chai Tea," Ma'at said, placing down the menu and looking up at the girl. She took out five gold, more than what the meal would actually cost, but she didn't care. She placed it in Umakoti's hand and told her, "Keep the change. I'm paying for Nadee as well. Whatever she wants... and, would you mind getting her a quadruped-friendly chair, please?"

"Of course, Miss Ma'at. And for you, Miss Nadee? And... er... you, Sir Lugh?" The introduction of the third individual was unexpected. Damned busy ass rush.

After she got their orders, she left again, coming back seconds later with a large cushion, "Here you are. Apologies for our accommodations."

The Excited Hydra
560174Her sweet smile faltered a little that she didn't get a response back to her question, only to the one about food. Perhaps she had had a rough day. It wasn't her job to judge... She put the smile back on her face and nodded, going to grab the pitcher of water, which she then set on the table in front of her.

"Just a gold and a silver for the pita. I'll have that out for you in just a moment," she said, turning and walking briskly to the kitchen. She returned a couple of minutes later with the food, which included tzatziki sauce and hummus. The girl placed it on the table and paused, biting her lip and frowning, "If I might ask... are you okay? You seem tense and unhappy. Is there some way I could help?"

560213~Artemis~
Artemis split from the group, choosing to wander about and make certain there were no stragglers instead. After all, it was likely that Ma'at and Konohanasakuya-hime could have missed some. With such an unexpected entrance, it was bound to happen. They weren't able to prepare as much as they would have liked to. Of course, her own abode she planned on offering up to the demi-goddesses was already prepared. Practically as soon as she decided she was going to do so, she made certain it was ready.

Regardless, she was making her rounds, backtracking where they had come from. Artemis, of course, saw a number of stragglers oohing and ahhing at the various bits of technology visible around the plaza. That wasn't too much of a concern. She simply reminded them to make sure they get some sort of food in them, and that (if they were female), they had a safe place with her.

When she finally made her way back into the gardens, she was surprised to see someone absolutely drenched with water. Her brow furrowed as she approached the woman, "Hey! Are you alright? Did someone push you into the pond or something?"

The Dancing Map
560215Andhrímnir laughed, a bellowing sound that emanated from his stomach in waves. "You're my sort of man, ya know that?" he said, grinning and patting him on the shoulder, "I appreciate ya know how to appreciate good food!"

He nodded to his questions, "Ahhh, yes. They have seen mortals before, but, my boy, yer not on Earth right now. You are in a place we call the Realm of the Divine. There hasn't been a new demigod or demigoddess here in at least a few centuries. That's why they're lookin' at ya like ya have a second head. In addition to that, times are tough. There's been trouble brewin', and we aren't sure who's causin' it. This makes people tense. Not everyone agrees with this method."

The god sighed and sat down on the chair beside him, "Not everyone wanted to bring in the demi-divine from Earth. Some people think it's risky. Some people think it's not fair to you all. Some people just plain don't trust you guys or each other at this point. There very well could be spies within ya. We just don't know. If ya ask me, though, I think it was important to give you all a chance to help save yer world. It's a place you all live, not us, so the savin' would be better done by you."

He cleared his throat, "Ah. Anyway. Back to yer other question. You'll see places here that resemble Earth. There are places that look like it was taken straight from Greece itself, or straight from South Africa, or whatever. There are so many different climates. So many different ecosystems. It gets hard to keep track of... but even so... it's not truly Earth."
